Greenpoint is such a lovely place to stay when you are on a lean budget like in my case. The interior is super cool, clean and well-maintained. The personnel i met upon my arrival are very warm, welcoming and customer-friendly too. I booked for a private room on the 3rd floor and it's just so good for the price. However, I didn't like the fact that I have to go way down to 2nd floor in order to use restroom or bath. There's an indoor swimming pool which has a lifeguard on standby - always-always. There are also locker rooms where belongings are kept before before heading to swim.

Me and my friend slept well on the beds and they were kind of comfortable to lay on. The shared bathroom was the worst part of the stay. It was uncomfortable and the bathrooms made all the hallways smell of urine. The men's bathroom should have a sliding door that locks when your in the shower like the girls bathroom does and not a little curtain. It was a good place if you were just staying for a couple days. Not something you want to be at for a week. The "free" breakfast was only a $2.50 voucher for eggs or $2.50 off your meal. We were looking forward to getting whatever we wanted but it turned out otherwise.

Never trust staff!! They steal your personal items from locker!! I thought staff were friendly when I started coming in this YMCA, but I realized they're very lazy and helpless. I often find paper towels and wet tishes are out, I am the one always call staff. But they don't even fill them up properly. Also, one of ballet bars in the studio is completely broken, and another one is missing many screws and very unstable. Also the control panel for sauna has been broken more than months. The staff never cares and don't fix anything. On top of that, I found today the staff clipped my lock from daily use locker where I put my personal items in, they took all my staff out from a locker during business hours without no reason. I understand if that was overnight, but I visited at 10am, left gym at 12:40ish, came back at 8:30pm after work, I noticed that my locker got clipped and all of my personal items have been stolen by the staff. This must have been done by YMCA staff with special tool. I found them in THEIR OFFICE. As of 9pm on Sep 19, 2023, I'm at the front desk asking why this happened. Not acceptable.

Needs cleaning in women’s locker room and shower area. After more than two years of COVID, waited for the sauna to open. Today it’s opening day and it’s still closed. Told the front desk and the person to open the sauna is incompetent.

Bedbugs ??????? Good location, good price, and was part of the YMCA, but I must give them the absolute lowest rating all around because I had what appeared to be strong indication of bedbugs ( got bitten up and saw bugs) in my room (#302) and there totally bizarre denial that anything was wrong with my room. Asked for full refund and was offered no refund at all. Talked with Emma Isles and she said they would do my laundry and treat the room as a precaution while I scratched my bites which she saw and said they haven't had bugs for over 4 years. Really????? Looks like people have had problems with bedbugs before here but as concerns come up the responses stay the same. Stay away or take your chances?

The area that it was located wasn’t bad, very close to all the stores and not bothered by being across from the police station. The pros were, it was rather cheap the cons were the most of the employees there were unfriendly except for the overnight guy and two of the housekeepers everyone else looked like they hated their job or hated ppl. The bathroom was shared with the whole floor and it was dirty, the door to the room was a hassle to get it as well, overall it was an ok stay for someone who’s in a rush to get a place to stay.

This place seems great for children but it's also a single men's shelter(Homeless Shelter)

I canceled in August, and I’m still being billed 3 months later… I’ve called and then sent an email a few weeks ago but have not heard back. How do I fully cancel and get my money back for the months post cancelation?

It was amazing! When we checked in we had a little trouble with our credit card, but they had patience and gave us solutions. The rooms are great, the bathrooms are clean. Everything was perfect. Totally worth it and we will come back ♥️

We got double booked buy the centre but they efficiently helped us book a new room and a transportation on them. We got a new room at another YMCA and a good transfer. The centre itself was clean and accommodating to all the needs.

Place is wonderful! It has great hours(note that it is NOT open 24-7 as stated in anther post. However, the hours are still good.) The place is frequently repainted and machines are replaced often. There are more than enough lockers for everyone. Just stay away in the evening if you don't like having all the treadmills taken. It is PERFECT in the summertime for runners who can't wake up in the morning and who cannot work out at night.(since it is too hot outside) The AC is ALWAYS on!

The open hours reduction is too much. From open 24 hours to 7 hours on weekends. Closing at 3 pm is a joke.

Some of the staff seem to think you're there for them not the workout. Staring at your behind when youre stretching. Trying to pick you up. There's a reason I don't talk to some of them and they seem to get the idea I'm a shy?one? Other than that the gym is good and never to crovded. Takes long time for changes to go through..like moving some of the equipment (ex further from the mirror so you can get the barbell out without worrying hitting it). I get it..it's a hostel "with" a gym but still..if you get a good suggestion..

Cardio room machines are never cleaned to the point where it’s hard to change seat level from all the dirt blocking it! And the gym always smells bad!
