Out of all the Costco's I have visited, this one takes the cake for being one of the worst mismanaged ones. The checkout lines were extremely disorganized - we stood in line for what we thought was the self checkout line but this was instead a queue for a cashier. This in in itself was but a minor inconvenience, since we only a few items and the self checkout line is generally faster. However, the cashier happened to be new and was much slower in the checkout process. Again, this is a slight inconvenience but understandable. The straw that broke the camels back however, is when an employee let a customer cut in line in front of us, the customer claiming that they had been there from the start, even with the entire line protesting this action the employee just acted like the customer was there from the start. Apparently buying a lot of volume from Costco gets you preferential treatment! The customer then brought in three separate flatbeds of product in front of the already slow line and proceeded to bring the entire flow to a standstill. When we and other line participants then asked if we instead be diverted to the self-checkout line the employee refused and shrugged acting as if it was not their fault for giving preferential treatment to a customer with an unusual large amount of items. What should have been a half an hour shopping experience turned out to be half an hour of shopping and 45 minutes of waiting in line. I am hoping that the management of this location can be improved but I"m not holding my breath after reading similar reviews complaining about the gross mismanagement. I am not planning on returning to this location ever again.

A very unique Costco store. First of all, it's located on the banks of the East River with a beautiful view of Manhattan. Next, the liquor store and food court are located in a separate building. The main store looks like an old factory with an arched roof and celestial windows. Also saw customers taking their bulky items on bikes and on buses with them. With Costco stores usually being very similar all over the USA, it was nice to see something special.

Under new management this location became Topsy Turvy 10:30 am and only 2 cashier open rest closed people struggle to move their carts . Costco Long Island was before one of the best location, but now just forget it I think company should do change and n this location before lose credibility

went through the humiliating procedure of having my empty backpack searched as I left the store. It's disgusting.

Sadly, their customer service has declined. Yesterday, was exiting the store and a Russian man of a certain age was rude and raised his voice at me when I asked him a question. The cashier failed to charge me for bagels and he proceeded to call the floor manager. I asked him could you tell me what is happening and he yelled wait lol.. keep in mind I just purchased 1,600 worth of items (mainly jewelry selection).. Yet, they allowed him to disrespect me.. He was obviously uncouth and will never know how to behave any better. However, management employees them and does not reprimand bad behavior. . Manager came over and looked baffled, I said gentleman this employee just put on a show and yelled at me.. He said absolutely nothing and looked at the bagels lol..Unreal, I will call compare today this is unacceptable.

Great location with free parking. But the line for self checkout is confusing. There is NO sign to direct you to the right line. I saw front customer waiting in line for self checkout machines, and the staff direct her to the regular line because she was staying at the wrong line. And I was in the same boat. The fact is the 6 self checkout machines are in the center of two lines. I confronted the general manager and pointed out the confusion. Well he doesn’t care. They took my money and wasted my time waiting on the wrong line.

I went to this Costco because it was the closest one to my house I went in for a membership and walked into the wrong side asking where can I ho to sign up and they pointed to somewhere in the store and yesterday it was pouring rain and windy outside before I knew it there were 3 people coming towards me my 3 kids and friend. They don't sell pampers diapers but some employees were nice and understanding. Thank you for them

Been coming here for nearly 8 years they never fail on me and always have the best groceries for great prices and when you go to the food court it makes you feel like your being scammed from other places such as pizzerias ice cream joints or even delis the food tastes great and the prices are amazing and theres always parking by

Much better than the Brooklyn store. More parking and since it's only on one floor there aren't waits to use the escalators. Also there is a tire center here, while the Brooklyn one was removed a couple of years ago. No skim milk is sold here or at the Brooklyn store which annoys my wife.

Fair amount of variety available at this location on Vernon Boulevard, however in comparison, the Costco Wholesale in Brooklyn is still my favorite. During my most recent shopping experience, I was surprised to see the store stocked with fresh sushi.

It's great to see the same employees move up in positions and remain with the company. We have developed a great working relationship with our two warehouses. We wish the cashier line/self-service worked a bit smoother. This is not a judgment against the crews. Better signage would help keep the exit smoother and less cutting of lines.

Huge Costco fan. I've been to many locations nationally and even internationally. This one, plain sucks. Pure chaos most of the time as no one knows what's going on. It's small, limited selection, always crowded, hard to find parking half the time etc. The employees are great; if you can find one. They seem severely understaffed for the amount of customers they get. As a native new yorker who left a few years back, coming back to this Costco reminds me of exactly why I wouldn't move back to NYC.

Free parking. The customers I encounter at this location behave as if they have never experienced such abundance -- reach over me, get in my space, lack basic manners. The personal shoppers are very aggressive as well. Not a pleasant shopping experience. I'm in and out as quick as possible!

Not bad, but always waiting in a long line to the cashiers! Good place to shop.

Love this place! I started out by getting lunch at their little restaurant. Had a Slice and a large lemonade for less than $3 !! I was there on a Friday afternoon. So I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. No super long lines. Paper towels in stock. Free parking. Easy access back to Manhattan.

Very good deals for litterly everything 💯, shoes are very good quality and they are very cheap, I’d rather buy some sneakers here the actually do to any other footwear store like sketchers for examples. They have the best food around the area in the food court, everyone is social distancing and they provide really cheap health care, when your a member at Costco the prices for normally expensive things for electronics but here they give you like a 150$ discount which is valid.

The store is located at banks of the east river and has gorgeous view of surrounding areas. Like other store, it is huge and all the signature items can be found here. Liquor store and food court are located in a nearby building. Parking lot is huge and has beautiful view of downtown.

Never thought I'd be leaving a review of Costco. But this is for one of the employees. Angel is by far the best returns employee I've had the pleasure of dealing with at this location. I went in with an absurd question about a price match and he got it sorted even though they didn't have to do it.

Great prices and mostly bull items. Food court has very good prices as well. Must be a Costco member

This is a great Costco. Very large space and excellent service. They always have everything you need and I love coming here to shop for groceries, staples and everything else in-between. I wasn't a discount warehouse shopper before, but this helped confirm all the great benefits you get from a Costco membership that definitely make it worth it. Highly recommend.

I spent years wondering if I should actually bite the bullet and get a Costco membership, and now I basically go there weekly! This place is great, totally worth the chance to snag some great deals on some quality foods. If you can drive there and fill your car that is perfect, but for me I always had to carry things back to my place and finally got a hand cart as well to help. The cost for membership is small compared to the savings and also getting a chance to buy some decent items in the process. The added liquor store to the side of this location as well makes it attractive to stop on by and get exactly what you need maybe for a party in bulk. Get the membership, you won't be disappointed. Go on now, go get the membership!

Thank goodness for self check out. We dont like standing on a long check out lines for cashiers. I am disappointed that the Costco vodka is not available here. Its suppose to be excellent and very well priced.

Love this place although they only accept cash or Visa. But they are great as a hall sailor. For the holidays they had the cutest gift. The staff is helpful and its clean and for the most part organizing.

  • 4/5 Bo T. 2 years ago on Google
Well stocked in most sought out products and produce. Associates are friendly and helpful when one manages to find them. One noticeable concern: the whole store has only one coffee grinder for costumers.

Always overcrowded… you will spend more time trying to pay waiting in the cashier lines than actual shopping. If you go late, most of the fresh stuff will be out. I do not know why Costco still cannot do App mobile paying while Sams Club has the options for years now.

The only way to buy a gift card for someone is to wait in a 20-30 minute line that stretches halfway across the store!? You’re telling 1 of the 6 people standing behind the counter at customer service can’t do this for you?? There’s gotta be a better way.

  • 4/5 James H. 1 year ago on Google
It’s not the biggest Costco, but you can still have a lot of grocery portions. The parking lots were always full if you visited in peak hours. There’s alway a line for check out about 5-15 mins wait. Their cafetière was not in the same building and there were not much dine in tables. Good for general grocery shopping!

Avoid their ready-to-go meals. We purchased a taco kit for the super bowl and it said it was put together the day before. Clearly, that isn't correct. There was a huge clump of think green mold in the middle of the chicken. No refund was offered. Avoid!

Very helpful staff. This was my first time there and I kid you not the people I ran into have the same names at least the first name as my family members so I felt right at home. I met Mr david, dennis, Lea and had I met Miss Susie that would have completed my family. David and Lea help me beyond and back. Kudos to the staff and if the manager is reading this perhaps you need to give those staff members and extra hour off they deserve it. So this place is huge not as huge as I seen somewhere else. However they seem to have everything in the store and when so many people are there it seems extra crowded and congested like it was today. I managed to find my way through the maze of people and isles quick enough to beat the traffic home. They had everything I needed. Although I didn't need a lot of things but they still had it. The one thing I I don't like which I saw twice someone opening up the container of grapes putting their hands and taking a field grapes and closing it back up. They got to be a way to make the produce and anything else that is easily accessible non accessible. Even if that means place and security on the floor to patrol I don't know what is going to take but this is really unsanitary. I also noticed someone picking up a bag of apples and placing in more apples from another bag into the bag they had opened. People are just rude. I gather one can say how much can a staff do when this happens and the place is very busy I understand. But something has to be done. So all the aisles were filled to the ceiling. It appeared as though they restocked 2 months ago just for this month of thanksgiving. I so enjoyed coming here and upon my first trip here I have to give this place a solid 3 star. Not five because the parking was horrendous trying to get out this parking lot is like trying to get out of a barrel if you're a crab with other crabs holding you back. Can you not open up other entrances or exits so that it'll make it a little easier for people to leave out and not be on top of one another cursing one another out in the parking lot? If you get here early enough you can get a parking space quite easily that's the good part about it. Can guarantee you'll get out as easily as you came in though lol. Nonetheless great place to be for shopping I will return.

Visited the Costco in Queens and was not disappointed. The store was spacious, well-organized, and stocked with a diverse range of products. The checkout process was efficient. The food court offered some delicious and affordable options. Plenty of parking space available.

Love this place. Here's one of many reasons, I couldn't find my receipt for a jacket and the only thing they said to me was, "Do you want it on a gift card or credit on the same credit card." Whoa. I like Costco so much that I bought myself a Kirkland t-shirt. That's right, it had the Kirkland logo big and bold on the front and yes I wear it in public ...sometimes. See you in "pizza house" (food court) ordering from the 6 month old kiosks. Now, if they could just have more workers in the food court, that would really make a difference. Carry on good soldiers. Thank you for your service.

I loved the selection of meats, fruits, and vegetables. They have food and drink samples. All of the food is sold in bulk sizes only. Aside from food they also have an auto center, prescription eyeglasses, electronics, jewelry, clothes, toys, housewares, and more! Their team is ready to assist and are customer friendly.

This Costco charged me $70 for stuff I didn’t even buy and the customer service is the worst! The cashier mistakenly put items from people ahead of us in our order and we ended up paying $70 for stuff we didn’t even get. I returned to the store after noticed the issue on the receipt, but ended up standing in the store for almost 2 hours for the issue to be resolved. The staff was very unprofessional and one assistant manager basically accused us for taking the items and refused to refund us. We had to talk to multiple people and in the end the regional manager issued us a refund, finally after 2 hours. Very very disappointed with the customer service attitude, treating customers very rudely when the whole thing is purely their fault.

This Costco is a nice size. It's not as big as Rockaway 5 towns area. Offers plenty of brands. Easy to get to by car. Plenty of parking. Need membership to purchase items.

Love Costco! Great prices. I highly recommend getting there when it opens to avoid the crowds or if you need to return something. The costumer service line can be long.

Love this place. I joined before the Pandemic and the prices are great. The store is clean and the staff is always in a good mood. How is that possible? Also, I would recommend getting the credit card as you get 2 % back on Cistco purchases and 4% on gas. It is a nice to get that money in 1 chunk. I have gotten to the point I rarely go to the grocery store, but some things I can’t buy in bulk such as my mayonnaise or even things I get at a deli.

Rumi is one of the best employees at Costco Vernon. When she is at the checkout she is very attentive to the customers, she does not mix up the items and above all she is calm and gentle. Employees like this make you want to come to Costco. Regardless of the number of people in his line, I prefer to go to someone else. A truly peaceful person
