Great spot to chill and eat some carry out. People watching seems like the number one activity here. Lots of poopers walking around otherwise know as dogs. Great for picnics and groups. Smallest men's room I've ever seen but it gets the job done. Brooklyn half starts here.

Lovely park wit a lot sitting options! There are sports games every evening and you can participate as a spectator. The location is usually quiet at night and close to a lot of dinning options.

Nice familiar park and game park to come and play some softball or do a good picnic with some friends and family. A great place to pass some time, get to know new friends, walk with your dog, play frisbee or do something more of activities at air. It is a big place to choose a good spot and do your stuff, and maybe join some other people. In general it is a clean place, water is available to drink in some spots, trees are there to give you cover from the sun or rain, and you have plenty space to play your favorite sport. Totally available for any handicap person.

Pretty peaceful, nice seeing people enjoying the outdoors throughout the summer. Bring a blanket and a book, a partner even and enjoy a relaxing afternoon

This park has been around forever. It's easily accessible via transit with the G train close by at Nassau Avenue and multiple buses including the 43 and 48. The athletic field used to be a patch of dirt but now it's a nicely done turf field. Across the way is Mccarren Pool with it's 16 feet deep pool and super large wading pool.

The park is green and clean and has three separate sections including a tennis park. Framers market in Saturdays during the summer is quite plentiful. Highly recommend visiting!

I love this park for working out. The only place I’ve come across that has a field and the track. There’s also a lot of people playing recreational team sports. So great atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend a picnic here. It’s more of an active park, but to each it’s own.

Can’t help but love the vibe of this area. People, weather, and some many different type of exercise with the very same end. Be more healthy on body and mind. Here you can jog, do boxing, play volleyball, take your dog out for a walk and pretty much everything you can imagine for. I loved it!

For the safety of ALL, please allow kids to wear their life vests and or floaties. Sunday July 24, 2022 a toddlers lifeless body was pulled from the pool which had almost 200 guest in the pool. It’s most impossible for lifeguards to keep an eye on such large crowds. Have 2-3 sessions per day and limit the amount of guess per session. Kids shouldn’t have to die, suffer for you to allow them to be safe and protected with a life vest. It’s simple common sense.

Been coming here since a teen. It’s a lovely place to picnic have drinks catch some sun rays. There’s usually parking close by and lots of restaurants to go to afterwards or pick up food and bring it to the park for a picnic. It’s very peaceful sometimes

Great place to take your pets for a walk! I went to this park at nighttime, and the atmosphere seemed peaceful with a chilly wind running through me! Would not recommend eating anything at this park because dogs can chase you unless you are quick to hide behind something.

Great place to be active with a track and soccer field. Also on the side many places to lay in the grass and hang out. And on Saturdays they have the market! I got some vintage clothing. Highly recommend checking it out!

My ❤️! Walking my dog every morning in this park where we get to meet and bond with the community! If only they stopped trashing it every time people get together and picnic here and give us some much needed off-leash hours.

Love this place a ton it’s not the first time I’ve been here but I love it all the same. Came here at night recently and I’ve never left a review for the park. Definitely recommend visiting frequently if you live in the area or even getting a workout in on the track.

Visited the pool and recreation center while volunteering at their local respite center for displaced migrants. The rec center looks brand new and very well maintained. The field is in good shape and is large enough for 3 or 4 soccer matches at once. Great facility, light years better than what it used to be in the 90s.

McCarren park is the GP icon. Running truck, workout station. Tons of room and now a restaurant and bar. Super fun place for kids and adults alike.

Amazing renovation of the Rec center. Very inviting. Be careful of visiting in the day time on the weekends you might catch a softball to the face but not to worry there’re enough doggos walking around to lick your wounds back to a happy and joyous weekend saunter .

The park was beautiful in the earlier part of the day. However, I was advised that things heatup in the evenings and over night. This is NY, therefore I suggest you be aware of your surroundings regardless of what time of day it is.

Nice track and pretty clean in the park. It is generally well lighted and even at night has a good amount of people. It has really improved after all the gentrifiers and hipsters moved in. Need a million dollar apartment overlooking the park that's falling down you got it all here. The baseball fields still seem to flood our but not as bad after they were 'fixed'. The farmers market here is over priced like most of the area but you don't have to go to Union Square.

One of my neighborhood parks. Great park. it's usually crowded due to the gentrification of the neighborhood but fortunately with that gentrification, the city has upgraded many of the amenities of the park. It has softball fields, a historic comfort station that i believe the city is expanding to include a restaurant concession. Ample seating areas. Park is divided into several different sections.

Full 8 lane, 400m track which is open to all - can be quite busy with soccer in the middle but it’s always good to see people outside working hard! There’s also a dog park, a skate park, a public pool and a normal grassy park with some picnic tables. Feels like the center of the neighborhood on any given sunny day.

This VAST park (think running track, play ground, food trucks and BBQ picnic areas in a tight bustling area in Williamsburg, Brooklyn) includes a public swimming pool with warm showers, soap, and free sunscreen. This memory making daily getaway is immaculately kept and with free lunches during the summer for the kiddos. The staff is kind but EXTREMELY FIRM about NYC pool safety rules and guidelines, so know them and be ready to agree and be generous with your compliance for the happiest experience. The line starts here, and it's good to know these things: ALL BAGS WILL BE INSPECTED so no pocket knives or work blades, no food or glass bottles or juices etc will be let inside the facility. Do wear your swimsuit with a mesh liner and maybe just pull that mess up above the elastic waist to expedite the line and avoid them having to ask the embarrassing questions about whether you have a liner in your swim trunks. And no, my guy, you can NOT wear your fart streaked BRIEFS under your board shorts into the pool. They will send you back into the locker room or back home if you try that hack. Sorry, bruh. Do bring a small lock for EVERYTHING EXCEPT your swimsuit sunglasses, brimmed hat, towel, water friendly shoes (flops, slides or Crocs) and WATER bottle only - these are allowed on deck. Leave your food at home and your cellphones in the locker if you're coming to this SAFE HAVEN of splashy goodness and fun and genuine interaction. If you don't feel comfy only in your swimsuit, bring a plain WHITE cover up or plain white T-shirt in this neutral zone, otherwise you may need to leave that extra shirt in the locker. Rashguard swimsuit tops are the exception to this rule. Pools empty out 15 minutes before closing time for the 11-2 morning session and 4-7 afternoon session. So if you're looking to get into one of the family changing rooms with your littles get there early and leave a bit earlier to catch an empty room to yourself. Otherwise, enjoy the warm days, use the sunscreen and don't forget your wide brimmed hat. Cheers!!

Several large parks situated across the street from each other. Each park offers unique amenities, whether it is a running track, baseball field, playgrounds, dog parks and other attractions typically found in a park. The parks themselves are all old and you can definitely see that time has taken its toll on them. I took my dog for a walk and visited those parks that allowed pets. For a Saturday, try they were all well attended, so it was nice to see people from all nationalities enjoying the parks. While the park could use a face lift, I always felt safe. While I spotted one doggie bag station, it definitely could have used more stations placed in all the parks that permit dogs since parks always attract people with dogs, like myself. When you're in a large crowded city, it is always a good thing to have parks!

Perfect spot. Chill. Laid back. Stroller friendly. Delicious food and cocktails. Take a break to warm up during a cold walk. Cool off on a hot day. The staff is the best--always helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful time here. It was quiet, it was serene. We sat there for hours talking and eating and enjoying the views and each other. The only problem I had was the grass on the north 11th side was horrible. But that is literally our only complaint.

Great park to do yoga in the am or go for a run. On the Saturday there’s market vendors. There’s a pool, the bike and skater park nearby, tennis court across the street , baseball the rev center ,swimming pool, etc a lot of cookouts on the weekends and Holidays in the summer and spring it gets pretty full. Definitely safe neighborhood with a Starbucks, nearby bars, restaurants, and juice shops.

The best part about this park is the location, nestled between Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Plenty of benches, so you can usually find a spot to sit, and they have bathrooms (though currently under reconstruction; port-a-potties available). From what I understand, they have concerts during the summer, though I've never been. If things ever return to normal, I will have to rectify that.
