    I have been a member of multiple gyms on Staten Island and I really liked this one at first but it did not take long for me to realize how horrible it is. It's actually beyond horrible for one of the priciest fitness gigs on Staten Island it is the WORST. Everything is broken or missing key parts making the machines inoperable. I carry my own treadmill magnet and pin because without them there will be ZERO workout and I may as well stay home! It's filthy. The bathrooms smell like urine ALL THE TIME! No paper towels, equipment empty bottles laying all over the place. Just gross and unfortunate for me convenient so I stay here but you know Retro is next on my list! This is a pitiful and discraceful business.

    Gym has no pins in the machine. How do you use equipment with no pins? Now customers are bringing in long bots from Home Depot bc there are no pins. Carpeting is ripped Equipment ripped Emails sents to La fitness are never responded too Manager no where to be found No stairmasters 90% of treadmills don’t work

    i joined here in december after warnings of it being a terrible gym, but it was convenient for me. i can’t believe how terrible it actually is. about 8 treadmills broken, some of the ones without a sign on it are also broken, incline doesn’t work on them. when i joined 3/5 of the stair masters were broken, now all 5 are out of service. pins missing to machines. the lack of care to keep up with their gym equipment is insane for what you pay a month. the one positive i will say is the night time cleaning lady is always on top of her game.

    If I can give this Gym a zero I would. This gym is by far the worst gym I have worked out in. The lack of available equipment, lack of WORKING equipment is outrageous. You are paying for a membership for inadequate services. Today not one stair master was working. The treadmills are also not operable or broken/not sturdy (very dangerous for runners). People are walking around with their own screws because there are no pins in the machines. The class schedules are horrible, the times do not apply to working people. The bathrooms never have paper towels. Dirty gym. Always HOT. No air condition. It’s sick that this gym is even still in business. The positive reviews are all BS because one of the employees begs people to write reviews. Please bring a LIFETIME fitness to Staten Island

    This review is for ( Ty) location manager. Question, do you know that this gym is located in the ( 10312) area code ? What you need to do !!!! Right now, is replace all these f&@king broken elliptical machines. NOW, not tomorrow, not next week. Gym members have been complaining about broken ellipticals for over two years. The audacity for this Gym to make good money in an expensive neighborhood. And corporate, and yourself have members defaulting to ( planet Fittness ) to use an elliptical. The Elliptical machine is primary machine. You need to replace all these broken machines, not for me. But for ( EVERYONE) and they should have been fixed years ago. Because you have no problem accepting membership fees, we know you have ample monies appointed to these elliptical machines. Right now I’m on a half broken machine, the lady to right of me. Her Elliptical is screeching so bad, that the sound is literally making me nauseated. You have the audacity to keep a gym like this in Eltingville!!!! Ty, get moving !!!

    Not counting the stuff in general disrepair, I'm being generous in saying at lest 20% of the equipment is broken, and has been for months. While some of the local staff may care, painfully obvious that the regional and corporate management have zero interest in the clubs upkeep or appearance. Also if you scroll, a ton of fake reviews from friends/burner accounts. I get it, the staff is rated on this, but if corporate cared and ran this gym correctly, it wouldn't be necessary.

    This the worst GYM i’ve ever been to. Total chaos. Half of the machines are broken. You can never find weights in the correct spot and don’t matter what time of the day you look. Even if you complain to staff members they simply tell you they know, but do nothing about it. The cleanliness of the gym also 0 star. There no napkin and cleaning supplies for members, not even a single sanitizing station. LA fitness charges much higher fees then other gym’s around, but their service is below anything i’ve ever visited !

    Depends on your needs. Roof in class activity room has been leaking for a few months. Accessories in class room are not in great shape either. I dont like the way LAF entices you w something well designed and then closes it off for usage if you don't buy a trainer. Not a fan of that. I have been happy w the class instructors however. My rating might improve if they fix some things.

    Horrible they advertising that they have jacuzzi. They do but you can only look at the empty hole in the ground. And when it did work the term jacuzzi legally means HOT WATER AND JETS THAT ACTUALLY MOVE THE WATER. COME ON GUYS GET IT TOGETHER. IT'S BUISNESS. CONTACTED BETTER BUISNESS HEALTH DEPT MOST IMPORTANTLY FOLLOW UP WITH CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS IN LOS ANGELES

    Just a terrible gym. Been going here for some time now and there is no upkeep at all. Machines constantly broken, weights never in the correct spots, no paper towels, I can go on and on. Workers and management clearly don't care. For what you get the membership just isn't worth the money. And don't even get me started on the creepy old men that come here harassing nearly half the people working out, which is beyond annoying. They aren't even there to exercise, just to cause trouble with others, somebody should really do something about that. Gym needs a complete makeover, I wouldn't be surprised if they close soon. In conclusion, spend your money at a more equipped gym.

    I have been a member since the gym opened and I brought my friend in months ago to join.. but she did not because all the cardio machines are broke!! The machines are still broke!!!! This gym does not deserve new members and the customer service sucks!!! Forget corporate they could care less! This place should close and Crunch should take over!!

    If I could leave zero stars, I would this is the most disgusting dirty gym I’ve ever been to none of the cardio equipment works. The equipment has been broken for so long the out of service signs are so old on the machines they are disintegrating you tell the manager and he plays stupid you’re better off having a bunch of wooden Indians behind those desks you get more work out of them.

    The gym staff here are very helpful and highly attentive. I wanted to add another member to my plan and was helped by Jason who was a very welcoming and had great customer service with a positive attitude. The whole process was very quick and efficient. He explained everything in detail and answered all my questions.

    I love this gym, and their staff. I joined this summer and also made one of the best decisions ever to take advantage of their personal training program. Both trainers I've had so far have been spectacular, and the one I'm currently with, Mike, is phenomenal. I've struggled with chronic life long debilitating depression and anxiety, and since I've been strength training, A LOT of that has gone away. My body and mind have transformed, and so much of that is due to Mike teaching me the safe and proper way to make my body stronger, so that I have more energy, less anxiety, zero depression, and a generally better out look on life. No the gym is not a cure for these issues, but the people there are supportive, kind, and don't care what you look like. Any body type is welcome, and all are encouraged to do their best to help themselves feel better!

    I’ve been going to this gym for almost a year and everyone is always very helpful and attentive. Natalya is great and always has a smile on her face. Billy the agm helped me get some guest passes for my friends as well.

    Not recommended. Their trick is offer the customer 2 free guest passes on the phone when you sign up then send the agreement later and it is NOT include the guests pass. And then told u to call the corporate to see what they say because even the general manager CAN'T address it. This is absolutely a fruad.

    Was just there w my husband and we couldn’t wait to leave . Sorry guys this place is dark, and not clean . Rug looks like they had a flood . Stains all over and the bathroom shower had clogged drainS. The sauna was littered with tissues and bottle caps and being used as a clothes dryer . We go to the forest avenue LA and the Hylan Blvd ones and they are much brighter and way cleaner .

    The gym is always kept clean and has all the equipment I need to complete a variety of workouts. Being someone new to the gym environment, I wasn’t sure what plans made the most sense for me or anything about the gym at all. The sales woman, Natalya, took the time to give me an in depth tour of the beautiful facility and properly answer all of my questions about the equipment and space. She then sat me down and helped me find the most practical and cost effective plan for me. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the gym is kept so nice.

    Majority of the staff is unprofessional and it’s nearly impossible to speak to anyone that’s in charge of memberships(whether it be the regular gym membership or the PT membership) to try to freeze, cancel or ask any questions. They are always “on break” or “not in” and but “they will call back” I give my number but they never call back. I ultimately gave up on calling to try to resolve my issue anymore and biting the bullet on paying my PT membership because apparently no one really cares they are there for show. I can’t wait to completely pay and wash my hands of this gym. The gym itself is old and needs major remodeling and machine replacements.

    The gym is awesome, clean. The classes are perfect. Not too crowded. Patrick was awesome explaining everything and helping with the registration. The only complaint I have is that one of the life guards in the pool wanted to kick out people 10 mint. earlier than the closing time. He was yelling at me and was very rude.

    ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. Men's locker room constatly filled with garbage. I HATE to know if they even clean the sauna. The light bulb isn't even there so anyone who even cleans it cannot see the random empty water bottles hidden in every crack of the room. Let's not mention the fact that some of the members who uses this lockeroom SHAVE while using it. Some even pour their water-filled gatorade/bottles into the heat source or puts insanely amounts of menthol oils in it. As for the condition of the gym, you can tell it's filled with the same losers who drive tinted windows, on the bus lane and speed in school zones. Weights are all unracked. You get more of a workout just taking off the weights that you're not using. Want cardio? Instead of looking for a working machine, just pick a weight and walk around the entire gym to look for it because it will definitely not be on it's designated rack. WHY IS THE SAFETY MAGNET ON THE TREADMILLS GLUED/MISSING? It's supposed to be there as a safety stop in case of emergency but I guess the management here does not care for it. This is ONE OF MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Don't be fooled by the fake ones that management try to mix in here. YOU LITERALLY NEED TO MAKE A TIKTOK VIDEO EXPOSING THIS GYM IN ORDER TO GET CORPORATE TO LITERALLY COME IN PERSON TO MAKE CHANGES. (go on tiktok and search LA Fitness Richmond). Absolutely horrible gym.

    Guys I love this place. They’re the kindest people and they made my life so easy. I only had one month to do the gym membership and they really helped me out. Joe is the one that did everything for me and he’s the absolute best. Defenitly recommend this gym to everyone!!

    To be honest, this review is not about the gym and the service they, it's about appreciating someone who delivers 18 ice bags of 10 lb each. This was today through instacart. It took me 4 times from my car to the juice bar inside the gym to be able to deliver the ice bags. The worker who picked them from me was nice, but the tip was really low ($7.2) for that heavy order

    Just signed up with an amazing representative. Billy Blue eyes showed me everything I need to know compared to other gyms. Also tried out the training assessment which was definitely worth it.

    La Fitness Richmond Ave Staten Island NY This sign was posted outside the Pool area at the entrance to the Men’s & Women’s locker rooms/showers on 7.1.23 Lo and behold of course it is not being enforced by the British Swim Instructors nor the pool Lifeguard if he or she can even be found. When I inquired about it this past Sunday on 7.2.23 the British swim instructors had no knowledge of it if you believe it!? When I went to ask the Lifeguard why it was not being enforced, she was nowhere to be found because she was outside the pool area chatting with the LA staff dressed in black shorts & black top with NO Red Lifeguard markings whatsoever! Mandatory Shower before entering the pool & hot tub is also NOT being enforced by ANYONE! Showering before entering the pool & hot tub is clearly stated in the pool rules posted on the walls. On another note, the men’s & women’s showers are filthy with Mold, Hair & Dirt as shown in these pics. I will be surely making a move very soon to a much better-run YMCA.     The 2 maintenance staff/ porters are 10/10 hardest workers Ive even witnessed in all the LA fitness clubs in staten island. They deserve the best for keeping our gym clean. If you see them please admire them, say hi, say thank you, anything positive for them. They don’t get enough recognition for how hard they work to keep the gym clean especially in the locker rooms/ bathrooms.

    While I ultimately decided to cancel my LA Fitness membership due to various concerns, my interaction with Katie Yacca was a beacon of hope for this place. Unlike other staff experiences, Katie treated me with genuine respect and listened attentively to my reasons for leaving. She displayed exceptional customer service skills, clearly demonstrating her understanding of my issues and outlining concrete plans for improvement. I was truly impressed by her proactive approach and dedication to resolving my concerns. If LA Fitness could cultivate more staff members like Katie, their membership experience would undoubtedly improve. While I won't return immediately, Katie's professionalism gives me hope that future improvements may bring me back. I'll try again in 4-6 months.

    DIRTY!!! in the group training room, there is hair on the floor, dirt from sneakers, and even a candy wrapper has been stupidly lying around for 2 weeks, which indicates that the floor has not been cleaned at all. Sometimes you come to the gym, and dumbbells and all other equipment are scattered all over the hall - no one prepares the group exercise room before training. We remove everything ourselves to make room for classes. half of the treadmills don't work! always! and even if I found one that works, it’s not a fact that it works properly. - trainers in group classes give the same exercises every time - no change in scenario. EXCEPT JOANNE G. for which many thanks to her! thank you for her energy, knowledge and love for her work. It was only thanks to her that I gave at least some stars to this hall.

    So I had a guest pass and it was for 3 days and the person who helped me out was Christian. He helped me out and showed me around the gym and got to know me very very well. I would ask for him if needed a membership he really helped me out with it and gave me a good price. I would recommend him all the time
