"9 / 11 2001 TRIBUTE IN LIGHT".. The horror of the day unfolded as Flight 11 was flown directly into the North Tower.. "WHAT IS GOING ON.. WHY WOULD AN AIRCRAFT FLY INTO THE NORTH TOWER ON A FINE SUNNY DAY.. WAS IT A BOMB.. WAS IT A SMALL PLANE.. OH MY GOD.." Only when the South Tower was hit did those watching actually realise the horror of the day was for real.. Nothing could be done for those unfortunate occupants of the North Tower, South Tower, High Jacked Aircraft, Firefighters, Police Officers.. Nobody could imagine that the Twin Towers would collapse, the Twin Towers survived the initial impacts as they were designed to do.. Thousands of gallons of highly flammable aviation kerosene started a ferocious heat intense fire on multiple floors.. The Twin Towers were weakened, the heat so intense as to 'soften' the cross floor structure beams, these connected to the 'vertical support beams' which were eventually pulled out of place, the gravitational weight of upper floors collapsing on the lower floors of the Twin Towers, for every floor that collapsed extra weight subdued every floor below.. Horrific scenes of trapped occupants jumping from the Twin Towers were recorded, the outpouring of shock, disbelief, helplessness was also recorded.. R.I.P. to those who died at the Twin Towers, The Pentagon, Pennsylvania.. The terrorists returned to hell, where they came from.. "9 / 11 2001 TRIBUTE IN LIGHT"..

Once you get close to the lighting, it just makes u wonder how high does this go??? It was just amazing however it gave me a lot of pain in my neck trying to look up and find out if there is an end to it.

Make sure to look to the skies the week before September 11th and the evening of September 11th. This tribute is beautiful and moving. If you get the chance to visit the staging area, make sure you do so. There are 88 8,000 Watt lights (44 per tower) that make up the tribute.

It was amazing to see what the families of the victims were able to put together. I believe everyone should take their children to see it

Solemn place. Visited by tourists to pay respect but the ones who saw the tragedy still shudder.

Why are the lights not being turned n this year??? What happened to "Never Forget"? In a time like this doesn't it make sense to do something that will bring NYers back together??? Or maybe that's the point? To divide us even more!!! People will catch on I just hope happens before it's too late. Disgraceful NY.

If you are not American and visiting, the memorial captures the story line perfectly of that day. Yes, there was other visitors who were visiting that were not Americans. All Americans should visit if they can.

I will always remember...the lives lost and heavens gains. Such a beautiful place. You can feel the love beaming off of the beams of lights and surrounding you. The way the whole area was built up and memorialized is absolutely stunning!!
