Unfortunately Corlears Hook Park has been for the most part permanently shut down to raise the ground level 8ft a over flood levels. In doing so over 1,000 trees were taken out and it is really as of current state a construction zone. Not much to offer anymore. There are some parts that are still able to sit at but not much much to enjoy surrounding wise.

Park is incredibly smaller now due to the construction to make it safer during storms. Construction has been moving along slowly but moving forward nonetheless. Excited to see the end result. Dog park is open very dark at night and needs lights in the dog park and path to the ferry. (Pic below) Baseball field is open Restrooms are open and typically well maintained. Small grass areas are open, and great events are still being held in the park for the community.

The Amphitheater was demolished due to construction. I saw a secret den underground where the Amphitheater used to be. I think it's Nikola Tesla's hidden lab from when he worked in Edison Works on Georing where Baruch projects is. Hurry up and see it before they cover it up. Even the construction workers don't know what it is.

Sadly they removed the amphitheater and parks by the East River due to necessary work. Not sure how necessary it was to tear down all this but wish they could have preserved more of it nonetheless parts of the park away from the water is peaceful & pretty. Hope they finish the waterfront sooner than later, will be a blight for most of the year it seems

This is the big neighborhood park in Manhattan's lower east side and it has been the neighborhood playground for generations. It has a promenade along the East River with unobstructed views of the Brooklyn waterfront and the Williamsburg Bridge. There are sports fields for soccer, football and baseball together with tennis courts and children's playgrounds. Sadly, almost all of that is gone for the time being because of the flooding from Sandy. The park is mostly torn up while the city builds flood control along the riverfront. There are still bits of the park by Cherry Street, on the opposite side of the FDR Drive.

It was nice when it was there. But there is construction going on all over the east river park. They are trying to sure up the infrastructure and prevent flooding to the FDR drive. So until they are finished we won't know how nice it will be.

Really great park to do a mid day lunch or just to hang, plenty of benches and trees to hide in the shade on those hot days

Area looks great, has a nice view but the turf field needs to be fixed, it isn't turf no more, it's more like a rug.

The Amphitheater is Historical from 70's 80's Musical concerts and Hip hop jams.. the FDR Amphitheater was the place to be in many a nights..

Currently under construction / renovation, so a lot less area is open to the public, park was very nice beforehand and had an outdoor amphitheater, lots of green space and mature trees, in addition to water fountains and walking / jogging paths along the East River offering scenic views.

This place is a work site and a park. It's a park that is visited by the general public however, their bathroom service is only made available if when they the workers are on site doing yard work. Isn't that stupidly crazy🙄. Well that's how it was I needed to access the bathroom as a worker on the other side of the park doing work on the premises. I didn't have access for 2 weeks I was there . I had access on January 5 that was the first week in January But none there after. Who cleans a park in one day when it demands pruning trees, and moving debris and trimming edges?- well of course that was not completed. However, I'd see trucks come and park up and people walking in dark uniforms over to the park but the bathroom was still unlocked and the debris and other things were still lying there. This is a common thread among parks both in Brooklyn and other places. I'm a bit surprised though that this kind of negligence is allowed to perpetuate in Manhattan - in a financial district Shame on the Mayor ,et al!

Caught the ferry here to Dumbo! They're working on the park so I'm excited to see what it will look like when it's finished. For now, over the scaffolding bridge to the ferry WE GO!
