Truly a place where I could spend my dinner, solely focused on enjoying delicious food. We went as a group of three, and ended up ordering a bunch of appetizers instead of getting main entrees, because we wanted to try as many dishes as possible. This was an excellent decision! We ordered - Little Gem salad - Citrus salad - Clam Toast - Prawns - Roasted beet - Side of sourdough bread It was impossible for any of us to pick our favorites, because every dish was delicious and unique in its own. Clam Toast had a deep flavor of pancetta, soaked inside the bread, which went surprisingly well with the clams. Little gem salad was an elevated Caesar Salad, in which the taste of anchovy really stood out in the dressing, but in the most pleasant way. On top of delicious foods, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was cozy and warm, yet lively. Even though I enjoyed dining and conversing with my friends, it felt like everyone in the restaurant was all partaking in one communal experience. I am so glad I was able to dine here, and will be going back soon!

The food was great. The menu has lots of variety from small shareable plates to larger mains. We loved the tuna crudo and mackerel dishes we had.

Attractive room - inventive use of small space. Creative food that honors the ingredients, not afraid of big flavors, intense spicing. I like their use of anchovies and sardines in unexpected places, such as grass fed lamb burger with anchovies. Love this place.

Before we went to NYC, owner of our bnb had recommended Hart’s to us. Actually it’s in the neighborhood so we passed by it a few times when we walked from our bnb to the subway station. It looked like an interesting place for fine dining therefore we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was small and easily full. Table reservation became a must. Eventually we had a fantastic night there. Food was excellent. Ambience was stylish and cozy. They also had a good selection of wine!!

Excellent experience at hart's, small but focused menu with a good cocktail program as well (and not to mention a near perfect soundtrack while I was there). Took some maneuvering with the size of the table when multiple plates were out but also felt part of the vibe. Would be here a lot if it were my local. Will take home some of the tinned fish on offer if I make it back.

It’s a small space, but very welcoming. The food was very good and I wish I had more of it! I recommend this place for brunch and enjoyed their gravlax toast.

Great food, cocktails, and vibes! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the marinated beets, the clams and toast, the fresh ricotta, and the pork Milanese. We had both the olive oil cake and the sesame pudding for dessert which were both delicious! Would recommend, and will plan to return!

small and intimate space, with a four seat bar with kitchen view, makes for a cozy spot for a catch up or date. menu consists of some unique and savory plates - with a carefully curated natural wine list. didn’t get a chance to try the leek dish, which beckoned to me while i waited to meet friends — friendly bartender and a great glass of red made my wait fly by. definitely book ahead, ressies are confirmed so it’ll be divine intervention or random no show that’ll get you a seat before 930pm.

Avoid this place if you can. Service was really bad. Waiter said orders had to be placed all at once and eye rolled when we asked for the menu to see if we wanted dessert. Tables are tiny. The food is an absurd try to escalate dishes with horrible compositions. The citrus salad is just orange wedges with olive oil and a vinagrette. Uncomfortable and overrated. Not coming back. Go to place de fetes instead, better wine and dishes, also local spot.

The food and atmosphere at Hart’s is amazing. They have mainstays on the menu but change elements of them that keep return visits fresh and delicious. Though, the service could use some improvement, especially with the option for 20%, 25%, 30% gratuity to be added to the cheque. Food aside, I think they’re operating more on a 16%, 18%, 20% scale but hey, when in New York…

Cute, intimate restaurant - they have maybe 8 tables and a 5-seat bar, so wouldn’t advise coming here with a big group. Food was tasty, although flavors weren’t particularly unique or groundbreaking. I ordered the clam toast, lamb burger with anchovies, and olive oil cake. Clam toast was essentially a very garlicky moules marinieres over thick-cut, grilled She Wolf Bakery bread. Lamb burger was very good, with a nice savoriness thanks to the anchovies. Olive oil cake was disappointingly dry and crumbly. Service was good, but a little distant, and portions were tiny. Probably won’t come back but it’s worth a try.

Intimate, neighborhood spot that has feel good vibes as soon as you step in. Everything we tried felt fresh and delicious. Highlights were the clam toast and the lamb burger with anchovies.

I’m going to start this review by saying I’m pregnant so I didn’t get the full feel of the menu (crudo you looked fab and the wine list looked great too… see you both in 6 months). With that said this restaurant is a everything I want from a restaurant. Beautiful space, I think a bit too dark- but personal opinion and didnt take away from the experience. Service was 10/10 Food list in order or deliciousness. Pork - it was such a well composed dish. So many yummy elements that make it unique and perfect. Little gem/fennel salad - so yummy. Creative, fresh and bright. Arancini- flavor was amazing. It was kinda cold when served and would have preferred it hotter Hake- cooked well. Presentation felt sloppy but not in a cute way. Chickpeas were undercooked. Overall a great experience- can’t wait to go back!

The food here was a hit or miss. I was extremely excited for the fried oysters, but the ones we received were small and tasted bitter and musky. The clam toast on the other hand, was spectacularly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I would also recommend getting the citrus salad, squash with taleggio, and the olive oil cake! You could forgo the olive oil cake and the oysters, but please get the clam toast. We ordered a total of 5 appetizers and a dessert and the service took an hour and a half, so make of that what you will.

So, I took my girl out on a date here. The place was small but comfortable. Seats about 20-24 people. A good spot for a date night. Felt it was pricey for what we got. We shared everything. The food was ok but honestly there just wasn't anything we tasted that we would have to come back for. She ordered the perfect martini which was pretty good. I got the boulevardier then just a ginger beer. The Bourbon drink was okay but I enjoyed the ginger beer better plus it was less than half the price lol We shared their: anchovies on toast and butter marinaded beets, grapefruit and horseradish braised endive, mussels and hazelnut Swordfish, creamy potatoes, fennel and salsa Verde Poached pear, creme anglaise, pistachio and chocolate Sadly, out of all of it.... think our favorite thing was the anchovies on toast which was pretty pricey. So $14 for 2 crostinis with seasoned butter and anchovies... Ouch I wasn't a fan of the beets dish, least favorite... The mussels and endive dish was pretty good. The swordfish dish was ok but upsetting that my favorite part was the potatoes and not the fish. The dessert was ok but I wouldn't get it again. The staff was great. Always available and quick to help, serve, clear... Just pricey for not liking most of it... For just the 2 of us we burned $160 plus tip... If I enjoyed the majority of the food, I think it would have been a good price point....feel like this was certainly more hype than anything else...

Really delicious, super friendly and an amazing wine list. They don’t do reservations so it’s first come first serve. The staff are so friendly!

The food is very underwhelming for the price. We got the following: clam toast, bread, corn, ricotta appetizer, mackerel & monk fish. The fish needed more salt and seasoning. I did like the bread but thought the clam toast wasn’t special (buttered toast with clam and garlic butter sauce). I did really like the sesame pudding dessert. Overall, good to try once but I wouldn’t be a regular. Also we had asked for the monkfish to be made without ham but there must have been a mix up in the kitchen because it had ham.

Honestly - this is one of the best restaurants in Brooklyn. It’s in our top 5. From drinks to food to service to vibe. It’s literally perfect. I think I’ve been 6 times now. Get the martini and of course the pork ;)

Quite possibly one of the best meals I’ve had in the neighborhood. Absolutely loved the tuna crudo, little gems salad, zucchini donuts, pork Milanese and sourdough bread aka everything we ordered. Also loved the cozy, intimate feel of the space!

This place is great. I’ve eaten here a few times and the food is consistently very good. The servers and bartenders are very welcoming and attentive. The chef is creative and very talented. The portion sizes are more than generous in a time where most restaurants are really skimping because of the high cost of ingredients. My only slight criticism is, don’t eat outside. It’s not the restaurants fault necessarily but I wasn’t able to enjoy my meal because of a person who wasn’t eating at the restaurant who took one of the tables next to me and started smoking and spitting and listening to something on their phone. I’m sensitive to cigarette and weed smoke and this made me lose my appetite very quickly.

New favorite place! Food is thoughtful and fresh. Cocktails are yummy. Service is kind but not overbearing. The space is unusual and cozy. Marinated anchovy on lamb burger… sounds crazy but it slaps like you wouldn’t believe.

The Hart's team was extremely kind and considerate to me in making accommodations for my birthday dinner, which I really appreciated! The vibe of the place was perfect, our server was attentive and helpful, and my friends and I had a wonderful time. We tried a little of everything (all good), but the lamb burger with marinated anchovies is the must-get, even if you're not really a lamb or anchovies person -- mind-blowing. Greasy, salty, juicy, perfectly cooked. I'll definitely be going back for that and a cocktail.

Such an intimate spot. The menu is always super cohesive (no bad bites!) and the drinks/wine complement the food so well.

Vibe and lighting are so nice. Been there with a large group and just two of us. Both experience were amazing. Super chill and inviting staff, intimate setting and all the food was absolutely delicious. Much appreciated!!!

A little pricey for the neighborhood, but definitely worth it. The clam toast is the comfort food I never knew I needed. Very rich and complex flavor, but not heavy. Tuna crudo was also amazing, but heavy on the vinegar if that's not your thing. I'd order it again. I wasn't suuuuper excited by the wine choice, but I was into the cocktail menu. Really friendly staff and nice ambience.

Came here with 1 other in summer '22 and had the clam toast, pork milanese, and lamb burger. The clam toast was a tasty appetizer, but the entrees were definitely the stars of the show. The milanese seemed to be a little bland at first until we realized there was pesto hidden under it. All flavors together after that were spot on and delicious, and the pork was fried well and still so tender and juicy. The lamb burger with the anchovies and celery was amazing all together. The anchovies really add something perfect in flavor that I think other lamb burgers I've tried lack. Grabbed a tin of mussels from Minnow as well. They were in escabeche and tasty straight from the can!

Just finished up a meal. Didn’t stay long because the food and service were both really disappointing. Monkfish was plated sloppily, skimpy portion, over-salted, and came out only slightly warm. Wish the server had recommended saving our sourdough for the thin sauce the monkfish sat in, which was quite good. She didn’t talk about the menu at all, wasn’t friendly, and didn’t check on us until our entrees were almost finished. Lamb burger was also underwhelming. The meat was fresh and of higher quality, but there was nothing memorable about how it was dressed, and the bun was stale and chewy. I love bistro food/menus like theirs, but it’s so rare for the plates to turn out as delicious as the menu makes them sound. Won’t be going back.

Can't recommend this place enough. I wanted to plan a nice birthday dinner for my fiancee and we had some pretty strict dietary needs within our group. Taylor, Pat, and the chef went above and beyond to accommodate and were super easy to work with beforehand. Not only that, but the food and drinks were excellent from start to finish. I'm definitely going to be doing more group dinners at Hart's in the future.

Amazing food, excellent service. I believe the menu changes seasonally so I am excited to return again at a different time. I had the spring '22 menu and everything I had was delicious. My favorite dish of the night was the clam toast...highly recommend!
