This hotel is horrible. Besides unstable shower water and slow elevators, they have a really bad attitude and service. The lady at the front desk has absolutely no smile on her face and the room service broke into the room without knocking. The room service even lied about us having a dog in the room and threaten us to leave. We have the right to suspect that they are racist.

This classic 1926 hotel is clean, comfortable, affordable, and spacious (suite) for my wife, me, and my teenage daughter. The “view” was lacking, however, the rear of the hotel ensures a very quiet environment. Missed the expected classic NYC doorman but the rest of the staff were fantastic. And the location was central to so many wonderful NYC attractions. NYC is back, baby!

Booked stay at agreed price— they upped it when we arrived and insisted that it was as agreed (it was not). We had to pay the entire bill at the start of the stay but they wouldn’t give us a copy of the invoice sheet. We did not feel welcomed by staff on arrival. Bad and seemingly hostile service in restaurant. Consistently neglecting to bring items requested. Then a member of staff (looked managerial) barged into our room one second after knocking without waiting for response, to “change the menu” in the information book. Would never stay here again.

Checked in Thursday and checkout on Sunday. Price $1584... for outdated dirty and stained suite room.. they moved us 2 separate rooms until another suite was available.. ok the new suite with a city view was ok..still outdated , stains , curtains filthy, molding dirty and chiped off paint.. window dirty and just felt dirty.. my opinion, not a 4 star room.. 3 star tops. No bell-Hop...no one to open hold door open for customers at main entrance, no valet service.. elevators was noisy and scary as hell. I would never come back , my 18 year anniversary was ruin by this stay.. my room was 1001..

We booked the Fitzpatrick based on the mostly positive reviews and pictures. Upon arrival we were allocated room 205. The room was clean but very small (I know, it's NYC). Room was tired, bathroom was very small. A/C was not available but we could open our window. The window in our room overlooked the internal courtyard roof with the A/C unit right outside our window. Upon asking about the poor quality of our room, we were told that the facility was fully booked. Considering we booked our reservation two months in advance, we were very disappointed. We will not stay at this location again or recommend it. On a positive note, the staff were very good and the location is excellent.

I adore this hotel. I will always stay here. The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating and really makes you feel taken care of. This hotel has been a gold star anytime my family and I need a place in the city. They go above and beyond for their guests and it makes the experience and stay so much better. Bravo Fitzpatrick!

We had a nice stay there. Reasonable rates, helpful staff, comfortable room, convenient location. I won't take off a star, but, for a place that charges a "resort fee," it lacked in some fine points: only 2 coffee packets in room (one regular, one decaf) and none were added for second night. No outlet to charge my devices without unplugging a lamp. In-house restaurant was convenient, but just "okay".

Do NOT rely on the ratings and reviews for this hotel because you will be very disappointed. I can only think of 2 positives. It's centrally located close to Bloomingdale's, and if you get a suite, you will have more space than your standard NYC room. With that said, I asked when I made my reservation if the hotel has valet and what it would cost for an SUV. They told me $70 which was steep compared to other hotels we called, but I needed a suite and the rate was somewhat decent. When we got to the hotel, no one came outside to greet us or bring us a luggage cart. Nothing!! The reception desks are literally right there in the front window overlooking the street so they easily see when someone pulls up. I had just come back from 3 weeks in California and had a lot of luggage. They sat there watching us unload my luggage onto the cart with zero offer to help. When we went inside and asked where the valet is, they told us they don't have valet because of covid, but that's NOT what we were told when we made the reservation or I never would have made the reservation. We then had to drive and find a garage which was a total inconvenience. When we got back to the hotel we had to bring our luggage up to the room. The room iwas outdated. Carpet in rooms and hallways is all frayed. The bathrooms are so TINY even in suite that you can hardly move around. Friends staying in basic room said their bathroom was even smaller. Both of us noted mold around the toilet and customer service is non existent. This wasn't the first time I stayed here but it will certainly be my last as this place has gone way down hill. I am not an angry custom writing a nasty review, I am a regular person giving an incredibly honest review of the Fitzpatrick. Even if they had valet like they told me over the phone, between how outdated and dark everything is, the tiny bathrooms and the lack of customer service, we still would have been unhappy with this hotel. I've stayed at so many NYC hotels from Embassy Suites, to Affinias to 5 star resorts like Crosby Street and the Mark Hotel.....this hotel is officially a stay away from. Not one person even apologized or offered a discount when they found out we were told they had valet. You have tons of choices in the city. You will regret staying here unless money is a huge object and you need a suite.

We spent 8 nights at the hotel located on Lexington Avenue. It’s located in midtown East and is great if you want to be in midtown, but away from the crowds on the west side. But what made our stay extra special was the staff I’ve been to many hotels and this by far was the nicest and friendliest staff ever. Thank you for everything! Hope to come back soon. 😊

The room was clean and the staff were pleasant and kind. Our main gripe was our room was FREEZING cold (came in mid Oct) and apparently they don’t turn the heat on until later in the year- so when we would come back we would run our hair dryers in our bedroom to try and warm it up…. They offered us an extra blanket which was pretty flimsy and didn’t help much at all - someone said they got a space heater but that offer was not made to to us so we were just cold the whole time…

This is a fantastic hotel. Rooms are spacious, well maintained and quiet. Staff are so attentive and most from Ireland which gives a feeling of traveling oversees! The restaurant and bar is great; food and variety on the menu is outstanding. Location is great for many reasons but perhaps for the quiet neighborhood at night. This is a good option if you are coming because of a family member having a Hospital for Special Surgery or other upper east side hospital stay, fairly close and good rates for the value.

The Fitzpatrick hotel on Lexington Avenue is in the middle of a great location, the staff was very nice, and the room was a good size for the price in Manhattan I would assume! However, there are no additional benefits/features outside of a great location. Half the outlets in my room didn’t work so couldn’t charge or use anything for long. The room I was put in had arguably the worst view ever. Not sure why there is a bedroom there at all actually. They don’t tell you about the gym they are affiliated with unless you ask so no gym or pool at that point (and the gym is only open from 7am to 4pm on weekends). I asked for double beds and got a single. I was under the assumption that each room had at least a microwave OR fridge and mine had neither (even upon request) and I found no ice maker anywhere. I booked through a third party site so maybe that is why I got the room I got (a bad room with none of the requests) and the site did give a disclaimer that I may not get all the requests I put in and will be given what’s available (which is completely understandable) but I didn’t get the impression that it was a fully booked hotel during my stay, so I’m sure there were other rooms available. And I would have never even found or known about that hotel without that site so hopefully they treat others who book through third party sites better in the future. I think the hotel banks on location alone to back up the 4-star hotel title. While it was not a horrible stay, it wont be my first choice in the future. There are other hotels in the area with more amenities to offer. Regardless, the interior of the rooms and hotel looked great!

We stayed here for 5 nights. It was a great hotel with ideal accommodations. We enjoyed having a separate living room and bedroom space. The hotel was very clean and located in a good location. There is plenty to do within as our a 20 minute walk of the hotel. There is a parking garage affiliated with the hotel, which makes it convenient to pay for parking on your hotel bill. The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and hospitable. Even after we checked out, they were able to call and tell us that we may have left my child’s favorite stuffed animal in the room. We are definitely going to be staying here on our next family trip to NYC!

We came to the Fitzpatrick for an extended stay as my wife had a medical procedure scheduled. The staff provided outstanding service, especially Chris, even making consomme when my wife came back from her procedure at 1:00 in the morning. They were very attentive and went above and beyond in terms of customer service. I highly recommend the Fitzpatrick both for the quality of the rooms and the superior customer service.

I wasn’t planning on making this review originally. I stayed at this hotel because I was going to a hair class nearby. The room I stayed in was nice. There was a small refrigerator, but I was surprised to not see a microwave. The bathroom is ill placed and very small, but it did its job. Upon arriving to our room we were missing a remote control for the second TV. My biggest ICK with this hotel was an issue that occurred over complimentary hot chocolate. I stayed at this location with my mother and husband for four nights. On only ONE day did I find the complementary hot chocolate. It was delicious. In the morning when I was checking out on the fifth day, I inquired about more complementary hot chocolate. This proceeded to become a huge debate amongst one of the workers, and what seem to be management. The worker that I inquired about the hot chocolate to called someone on the phone to let them know to bring hot chocolate because three guests were waiting. Well, when this lady from the phone came out, she was so intense about this whole complementary hot chocolate, and how it’s not always available and how they sell hot chocolate, and she just went off on the worker!!! It was very awkward! Me and my husband felt so sad that we put the worker through this weird interaction. My husband and I heard the manager badger the worker about this complementary hot chocolate for about 10 minutes! The worker was defending themselves while the manager was just going off about how the complementary hot chocolate isn’t always there and how they sell hot chocolate we could buy, etc. etc. Overall pretty unprofessional. I think it would’ve been much easier to just give us some hot chocolate just to please your guests. Just so you know, the complementary hot chocolate cup is smaller than a teacup. To think that a hotel/management could be so stingy on something so minor…

Very Happy with the Fitzgerald. I travel a lot! I'd let my grandmother stay here!!! I was able to get a suite for the same price as a regular room and it was well worth it! The rooms are much more spacious than a traditional Manhattan Hotel Thank you Fitzgerald!!!

This is definitely a place to stay when you're in Manhattan, especially for the price. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms were very nice, and the staff was very friendly. The location was great, not a far walk from some places, not a far drive from other places. I've stayed in hotels in London, Athens, and Paris, and they were not as nice as this hotel. The Fitzpatrick in Manhattan will be our hotel for future NYC visits.

My stay at Fitzpatrick Hotel in NYC Manhattan was absolutely extraordinary! The staff's warmth and hospitality made us feel like part of a welcoming family. We were overwhelmed by the care provided by the staff, cleaners and receptionists. The location was unbeatable, with easy access to top restaurants and shops. We were pleasantly shocked by how incredibly spacious the room was with a great shower and beds. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing us with a restful sleep after busy days of sightseeing. We're very grateful for the cherished memories and highly recommend Fitzpatrick Hotel for an exceptional stay in Manhattan!

This hotel is fantastic. We were in town to see a doctor and needed to stay overnight in the city. The hotel is in a great location with plenty of stores and places to eat. We had dinner at the Fitzpatrick downstairs and had Fish and Chips. Excellent meal and service. The room was quiet and large and clean and comfortable. It had a separate beverage area. Very comfortable room. I asked for extra pillows and they were in the room beforehand. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The parking was across the street. I would recommend this hotel.

Spacious well appointed suite with comfortable beds, TV, safe and great views. Great safe location in Manhattan and within walking distance of the great sights of New York. Friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely come again.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. A great hotel in a great location. Staff are all really sound and added to the stay. Great atmosphere in the hotel. Nice place to be going back to after being out in a city as busy as NYC.

Don’t believe any 5 star review for here!!!! Stars only for convenient location. The dingiest dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The headboard had stains on it. My mom requested 2 twin beds, we got 1 full and they didn’t apologize or try to accommodate us. They gave us issues about removing a day after seeing the dirty conditions. When we arrived to the room the toilet was clogged and dirty inside with feces stains. They “fixed it” by doing absolutely nothing. Toilet barely flushed. We asked for towels every day for two people and they only gave us enough for 1. Entire hotel smells like mold and mildew. The decor is very outdated 1980s Las Vegas nightmare that desperately needs to be updated and cleaned. The front desk staff stares at you like you’re going to steal when you walk in and out of the hotel, very uncomfortable feel. Card keys for the elevator barely work. I wouldn’t even walk on the carpet with my socks. Would not stay again. Bed sheets were ripped, towels smelled like mold

My husband and I had the worst $100.00 breakfast money can buy on a quiet Monday morning. Cold eggs, and a half hour wait to be served. I wouldn't take a dog here to eat.

The food was great and the ambiance was stellar. I really enjoyed it. The service was wonderful. They catered to a party of 14 people and made adjustments where necessary. They aimed to please and I was happy. Happy Thanksgiving to all the Fitzpatrick employees.

The hotel is conveniently located, not far from central park, 5th avenue and Times Square. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. One of the cleaning lady was very helpful as we had to come back to our room and she left to give us some space and come back to clean again. The front desk staff was great too since we booked with a 3rd party service and did not have WiFi but the front office staff still gave us complimentary wi-fi! We had a lovely stay at the hotel!

Awesome place to stay. This is my home away from home. I will pick the Fitzpatrick every visit to New York. The staff is amazing, the rooms are sparkling clean, the ambience is delightful and everyone is made to feel special evertime they walk in the door. The location is great too and central to eateries, subway and sights to see. Chris is a true gem.

Great hotel! The staff was helpful when we needed to leave our bags before check in. It has several food options very close by, there is also a subway station only a few blocks away. The building and rooms are dated but I think it’s charming. Our room was bigger than most hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. Our room and linens were very clean. Would stay at this location again.

Great staff....the front desk makes all the difference when you travel.....this staff is wonderful. Rooms are a very good size for NYC. Bed is super comfy. Walk in shower is great. You can't go wrong.

Staff are so accommodating specially Chris at the front desk. Chris was able to get us an extra room for a last minute addition to our party as our son joined us for one night. Thank you Chris for helping us out so we are not all cramped in one room for the night.

Room very small - no natural daylight. Shower had a curtain and poor power. Bar area cordoned off to facilitate meetings and outdoor area same - also closed at 6pm. Good location. And fine to just sleep in - food massively expensive, eg Breakfast 28 dollars (before tip and tax). Enjoyed trip - but NY gone sooo expensive.

Nice hotel in a good location! It's close to Times Square (15-20 min. walk) and plenty of subway stations. It's about 3-4 minutes walking distance from Whole Foods. You can definitely walk to many places because of how it's conveniently located. It's cozy and has the basics. Don't expect it to be a 5 star resort looking hotel though nor a street/city view from your room. It had everything my sister and I needed for our 4 night stay since we would be out all day though and it's clean and decent for the price you're paying. I would stay again! Ps: the restaurant is a little bit more on the pricey side for what you're getting, but if you're in a rush and need to have a meal, it's okay

Stayed here over the New Year, staff were very nice and welcoming.Hotel was very clean with rooms cleaned daily. The room had 2 large beds, tv and tea/coffee facilities, also had a closet with fridge, safe, iron board and plenty of storage for luggage. Stayed in one night for dinner, food wasn’t great. Location is good, walking distance to Times Square and it’s surroundings. Will be booking here again for next new year.

I rarely write reviews but this time I have to, I got here few hours ago I booked a suite on 10th floor I find the pillows smelling with hair in them and the heater not working and the reception lady was kind enough to change them abs get a me a heater which of course isn’t working properly and v loud … it’s frustrating when u pay over 350 a night and u still get somthing bad… disappointing Iam waiting for tomorrow morning to change the suite and hoping for a better more civilized one.

Stayed at The Fitz to be close to Memorial Sloan-Kettering (~ 1 mi. away). It was perfect. Clean, quiet, well-appointed. Staff was all great. East side location was great...good restaurants, diners, shopping, parking, etc. Upgraded to a suite and it was just perfect for our 3 night stay. Highly recommend!

STOP!!!!! The Fitzpatrick Hotel on Lexington has abandoned all of its professionalism, charm, and no longer will you see Irish employees wearing the crossing gold keys on their lapels to denote their professionalism. COVID has DECIMATED the staff, and now, they have hired staff that seemed to have been lured away from the local deli! The two new employees at check-in were rumpled, unshaven and both sporting unkept afros tied in a ponytail. I took my family (who has had lovely stays there in the past) to dinner and it was a succession of utter embarrassments - the waitress (decidedly not Irish) looked glum, was inarticulate, obviously exhausted from a long subway ride to work, and was ABSENT - she disappeared and I had to walk up to the "bartender" to ask if she quit? She was hanging out in the kitchen. ZERO charm and no professionalism whatsoever! The food orders were all wrong! The "bartender" was clearly a busboy with poor English that had been promoted (again, decidedly not Irish) poured a laughably bad pint of Guinness. I've gone to Fitzpatrick's many times as I live in the neighborhood, I know countless people who stayed there in the good old days. Now, Fitzpatrick's is shell of itself living off its memory, and the Irish political, sport and celebrity class who used to stay there. I cannot emphasize how atrociously bad the service was all around -- take away the screwed-up orders & terrible Guinness, it's the staff that they have hired. It's truly shocking to walk into what was once a jewel in Manhattan to see it so horribly staffed with abysmal service. Disgusting, really.
