We attended a marvellous gospel mass. It was a wonderful experience from any point of view: the music, the choir, the prayers, the sermon. We were tourist there but the mass was not for tourists at all and this is the reason I liked it. It's a Catholic Mass so if you are used to it it's easy to follow even in a foreign language.

This is one of the most dramatic and dynamic parishes I've ever celebrated Mass with. If you look them up on YouTube, in particular there choir, you will find an enormously diverse range of offerings. And the dramatic depth of their music is very much a reflection of the variety and depth of the parishioners themselves. If you come to Harlem make room Sunday morning

Catholic Church therefore service close to what we can experience in France, the songs and more. The priest also speaks French.

We chose this church because we wanted a traditional and free mass, since it was open to all. We were put in the mood straight away. The mass, the songs and the atmosphere immediately put us at ease. We were fine and didn't want to avoid the tourist trap. Very easy to access by metro, stop at 125 st and the church is right next door. Mass takes place on Sunday at 10 a.m.

My family and myself were looking for a Gospel in a small church. We have been advice to go at St Joseph church outside of the subway by a gentleman. We went there and attend the gospel even though we are not Catholics. Gospel was very nice at the end they asked you for a donation but you don’t have the feeling that you must give something (which we put few dollars in it) HIGLY RECOMMENDED !

Very humble, poor parish that's very authentic. The daily mass is cozy and the Sunday gospel mass is amazing!

The Sunday gospel mass at 10 has become a 100% tourist experience. However, it is a good experience and is managed quite well by the church community.

This is a open and welcoming Catholic Church in Harlem. I highly recommend that you visit it for the music. The choir is amazing, and even smaller Masses will usually have a vocalist that will blow you away.

Love the church. The problem are tourists. Italians and French specially. . They forget it’s a wholy place where we pray and worship. They come take pictures. Videos. Always on the phone as of that was a museum. Go to wholy communion not knowing what to do. It is not a museum people !!!!! Cameras should be forbidden

50 years ago I was the organist and my husband the cantor at this jewel of a church. I am now 79 and living on the West Coast, but so happy to see that St Joseph of the Holy Family is thriving and beautiful!
