    This place is a day care. Simply too full. Not the kind of too full where there is a lively crowded working out vibe, too full as in being in the branch for over an hour and not a single machine becoming available as groups of kids crowd together over machines. I understand that the business model is the charge of fair price and as result take more memberships, but there needs to be a limit, and it needs to be moderated. There is an unsafe amount of people in here. When I signed up, I signed up to a 24h gym. Suddenly they decided that they close early. So why am I paying the same amount? It’s not the product I signed up for. There are sweaty tissues and garbage on every single machine. Never any free weights, and they are never stacked in the right spot.

    WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LOCATION, FIRST OFF IT WAS NOT CROWDED, SECOND IT HAS 3 FLOORS, MAINLY THIS PLANET FITNESS HAS GREAT NATURAL LIGHT... ALWAYS VERY IMPORTANT, AS MOST PLANET FITNESS ARE IN THE BASEMENT... IT WAS MUCH STAFF BUT THEY WERE O.K...     Unsanitary conditions! Unacceptable no matter how inexpensive the membership is. See pics. The gym layout is horrible, the equipment faces outside and the sun comes in and blinds you. Also, some of the equipment is so close together that as you pass (the smith machine for example) you risk getting hit and seriously injured! The layout is not thoughtful for its members at all. Also, they never have change for beverage purchases and instead of getting change for the register they asked me to purchase the water across the street. I’m a long time member, a bottle of water cost 25/50 cents for them to stock I think she could have gave me a credit, however she was willing to allow me to leave or go without water for my workout. Employees are poorly trained they clean around the gym every morning but some how there is still thick dust hanging from the stairs which are right over your head in one of the workout areas. Not to mention they sweep the upper stairs while people are working out below. Not hand sanitizer at times as well. I’m really disgusted with the conditions there and will discontinue my membership as soon as my NEW local gym opens up. Update, nothings changed and the TVs don’t work why won’t anyone fix the equipment?

    So dirty, so disgusting , when I registered, the lady don’t care about providing service , even just explain about which services are included, I had to pull out information from her with every question, she stood dissatisfied, did not explain what was included, how and what, no one says that there are no locks in the locker rooms, no service. She just stood and looked at her phone. cleanliness at 0 level. I came in the morning, there is so much garbage on the steps, as if they had not been cleaned for months, there is hair everywhere in the showers, it is dirty and stinks, even the mirrors are dirty, the in the locker rooms are dirty, no one wipes them. I purchased a Black card, but even about it they didn’t explain anything to me, that I need to take a penny for a massager, how to use a massager, and massagers do not work, no makes sense to buy this Black card. simulators do not work, dirty, unpleasant to work out.

    Your gym was ok for me with little weaknesses but I have to cancel my membership because you need vaccination to keep your doors opened for me. i don't believe in vaccination and know that it won't help you guys with covid as it's going to change its tactic to fight people. Moreover, you gonna meet another virus which is way more dagerous and I predict gyms will close again even though people are fully vaccinated. It's better buy some athletic stuff and have gym at house. By.

    The only good things about this gym are the price and the hydro-massage machine at the "Spa" (which is often down). But, you definitely "get what you paid for," and if you can afford to pay a little more, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. The place is poorly designed and equipped. There is barely any room for mat workouts (so, you basically work out on the side, while other people nearly step on you). It definitely caters more to men than women - for example, there is only 1 (!!!) set of 8 Lbs weights in the whole place, but you can find multiple 35 Lbs, 45 Lbs, etc. Also, this Planet Fitness is always crowded! Even when it was open 24 hours, it was crowded - even in the middle of the night! So, you ALWAYS have to wait for equipment! But it is no longer 24 hours, so, even more crowded! And, the last straw, they have this thing called "High School Summer Pass" when they allow teenagers to attend for free in the Summer, so, suddenly the whole place is swarming with teens who don't really come to work out, but rather to hang out in groups, sit on the equipment, take selfies and "roughhouse." Last time about 5 kids got in the elevator with me, and started jokingly "punching" each other, but I literally had to dodge their bouncing bodies, then, later, when I went for the Hydro-massage, 3 teen girls were piled up on 1 machine and 3 teen boys on the other. I had to ask them to get off so that I could use it. I mean I am glad Planet Fittness is giving the city kids a place to go in the Summer, but it would be nice if the teenagers were given some kind of an orientation on gym etiquette and being respectful to others. The verdict - don't go to this gym unless you like aggravation. (Especially stay away in the Summer!)

    Why am I being charged when this location is closed? Customer service is telling me to cancel my membership at a different location. I’m not driving a half hour away to do that. Ridiculous! They threatened me saying that I only have a month left to freeze the account. I just went to the gym tonight to see if they are open and they are STILL CLOSED! What the hell! How am I suppose to cancel my membership in person if I can’t even go in? You can’t charge for a service if I’m not getting anything.

    Pathetic experience. I got me black card membership recently and i asked for a visit to the staff and they said do it on your own. Then when i visited the gym it was absolutely nothing in the weight training area. Not enough dumbels, no free barbells , nothing literally. It's just a gym for beginners and the people who only do cardio. Steam seats are always out of order. Only three massage chairs. Overall my experience was 2 out of 10. I changed my gym after 4 days and they don't even refund you. Staff behavior is Pathetic. Not recommend at all.

    The way Planet Fitness behaves towards their users/customers during the pandemic is unacceptable in a modern day business world. In general, their methods are unfair and deceiving, their customer service is non existing. Planet Fitness requires your bank account info, not credit card info, at a signup for a reason: they want to make it as difficult as possible for their users to cancel and to create any charge disputes. No annual fee/no contract they advertise so hard means you can cancel the membership at any time, but they charge you for the membership for the year 30 days after you sign up. All disputes are handled by locations, not by a corporate office. You have to go to a location for any issues. There is no customer service over the phone or email. I left a message for my location multiple times this year using an online form - not a single response received. There is customer support over Facebook messenger, but this is just for appearances sake: it’s absolutely useless, as all disputes must be resolved at a location. I paid “annual fee” in January 2020, the gym closed in March 2020 due to the national emergency situation: the gym refused to make a prorated refund of the annual fee I had paid. The gym charged me monthly fee for March 2020, 50 % of which the gym was closed, and refused to refund the prorated fee, even after a CEO email went out to all the users promising the refund for March. I cancelled my membership in September 2020 once the gym re-opened, but in December 2020 I am still charged the monthly fee. Planet Fitness bills illegally after cancellations. How much time users who cancelled and are billed illegally willing to spend disputing $11 per month? Who has time for this? This is what Planet Fitness lives of.

    I visited today to cancel my membership and encountered a concerning situation at the front desk. There were two staff members present, both seemingly preoccupied with their phones. I overheard the gentleman mutter about canceling my membership, followed by laughter from the woman. I strongly urge the manager to look closely at the team dynamics. The atmosphere appears to be quite negative, with staff appearing unmotivated. This reflects in their lack of enthusiasm and poor customer service. I hope you can address these issues promptly to improve the work environment and customer experience.

    Maintenance of the machines is pretty poor. In the past it has taken over a month for a machine to be fixed. Today I arrive after not going for some time and half of the machines are missing the peg to adjust the weight. Someone I guess came along, cut the cords, and took them. I guess I have to bring a screwdriver with me now to use them. Edit: Planet Fitness below has asked I contact the gym's manager. I don't think it's my job as a customer to manage their management for them...

    These crew members are giving individuals a very hard time like their fathers own this gym in partnership. They fail to do their duties of keeping things clean around the gym. The bathrooms are nasty, toilet paper 🧻 rolls on the floor with garbag overflowing but their focus has shifted from everything that actually needs their attention to asking black memberships to scan multiple times so theymake sure 100th time they have a memberships. These workers are creating their own dictatorship. For heaven’s sakes you are ONLY working here. Be polite and d welcoming. They have a SNAPPY AND NASTY ATTITUDE towards members. NOT friendly at all. The old up until 2023 crew was much nicer. Many Machines are broken without any out of order signs and this is being observed since August 2023.

    86street location update: i spoke to the manager today - who is a gem of a person. We had a good chat. He clarified for me the issues that i brought up. For the future, i will share my observations with the managers/owners ( i had some minor items that were out of place which are out of the manager’s control and falls squarely on PF ) before i share with “google world”. I had to compliment him on his staff because they are all always very pleasant and helpful. Yes, all PF locations are nice staff, however, 86 st, they add something a bit more lively. I will add the final star after PF maintenance finishes the repairs needed. Dont get me wrong, i enjoy all PF, i am a regular therefore i believe that we need to keep each other doing our best. We all want pleasant experiences. Yes?

    If i could give negative 5 stars I would! They closed the location I was going to and charged me for it the entire time it is closed, without letting me know and making sure I could go to the other locations. When I called to cancel my membership the representative the guy became extremely rude as soon as he heard I was calling to cancel my membership! Even if you decide to join that GYM I recommend to get acquainted with their policy as it is designed to screw you over! And Now I can't cancel my membership because the location is closed!

    Consider going to another GYM. The stuff is terrible. Just canceled my Black Card membership which I had for 2 YEARS. I was waiting for the Hydro massage bench ( which they promote as a benefit of a Black card) for over 20 minutes ( when Lady said that it will turn on in 3 minutes) it never turned on. Then she came with other customer and asked me to leave the bench and turned it on for her. When I asked what happened she even didn’t apologize and said it was just confusion and other customer was there before me , even the fact I was alone waiting for Massage.

    This gym needs to expand to accommodate all the members it has. They had the option to expand the floor below when Modell’s closed. Instead they opted to keep the same. As is…I don’t think this gym meets code and is flagrantly violating laws on a daily basis due to overcrowding. If this place gets shut down by the city at some point it’s on the franchise owners.

    I tried to canceled my membership. I sent them mail in December'20 and nobody responded to me. Then I called them and Manager had a day off. Then they charged me 2 times and charged me yearly fee. Are you kidding?? After that I called in January'21 and Manager said that she just received my cancelation request...unbelievable I still waiting my return of yearly fee $40. Please do something!!!!!!!I sent email to Manager she never responded on this question. That's why you are reading this review.

    Wow! This gym is charging me money and I haven’t gone since pandemic. You are not following the laws of the city. This is serious!! The governor signed legislation in November 11 which you are not following. We are all suffering from this situation and you are not thinking about your costumers. Costumer service was very rude with me. I need a solution.

    I would give this Gym 0 if I could, THE WORST experience ever, I have tried to cancel membership multiple times and they are still charging me insisting to go to location and cancel membership on place. I even put restriction on my debit card but they charged me again with another company called ABC, I have spent to much time with their customer service and my bank to resolve this, I am to frustrated and disappointed will post bad reviews everywhere and will go to BBB to make sure I did all I could as one unhappy customer!!!

    If I want to rate of course I will give this KingsHwy location negative 👎 5 , because : Beginning of the October I registered and got memberships . And they said that each month 17 Th they will charge money. After registering the next day this location was in red zone and they closed , 10 days later 16 October I called them and informed them that Please do not charge money and manager said of course we will not but next day they charged 24$ for no reason ?? Whyyyyy I explained them that I opened membership for my diabetic mom she need some exercise, this location was close to my home just 2 streets away and my mom can’t go another locations . After I called again they said :” please give us 2 min and they hanged up 😡😡😡😡😡😡

    I would give them 5 stars, if the place were clean and equipment wasn’t broken every day! Employees don’t give any care, they are there to hang out with them selves! Too many kids that sit on equipment for long, while watching a show on the phone, or just hangout and hours around the place…. Massage chair is always broken, but employees are using it!!! It’s maddening, hope the owner will see the loss, and fix it.

    True story. One of the kids from the summer youth program - you know the one where 14 - 18yr old kids get a free membership. Well, one of these kids stole my phone. I of course was outraged. The phone was recovered, however; this is where it gets good. Planet fitness canceled my paid membership b/c of my outrage. What the actual f$&@. They canceled my membership, not the kid that stole my phone. This all happened at the kings highway location.

    MR. Planet fitness (OWNER) I am reporting you this complaint after an hour and half of the incident Wednesday jan 5 we (most of them are Mexican , Asian and Russian etc) .... were writing in the line (30f° temperature) out side of your gym around 8:45 two white guys appears in the black car parked outside the gym in bus lane looked to the long line( more then 15 ppl waiting) smiled and went inside exchange greeting with staff inside went upstairs... so i went inside and ask the the staff what is going on we are waiting in this cold and why they skip the line.. your staff stat giving lame excuses... and justification like they were here b4 when I said how long they were here because we have been waiting outside for a while so plz show me their last login..... they refused and said that go out side wait your turn other wise they are going to call caps...finally I stop argument I went out side silently and wait my turn but this is not over yet when my turn come and I was going to scan my card the tall guy inside the counter (don't want to reveal his name which starts with J) charge again and said in very threatening way that he was going to cancel my membership but now he worns me and giving me last chance...... like wow 👏 His majesty bestowed upon me.. Mr. Planet fitness (owner) this was open day light racial discrimination check your login record and cam located left side main door. see yourself what kind of people waiting outside in the line and who skip the line with favor of your employees and they ironically covering that up... with threatening to call low enforcement on me and cancelation of my membership..... I assuring you that I will not stay silent on this matter I know the concern authorities , related forums and know how to approach them..... also I have visual and voice evidence.. to support my version.. otherwise you have my email in system and update me what action is being taken by your side ... thank you.

    Unethical. Who's going to go in person during a pandemic to cancel their memberships so they can stop the drain on their bank account? Sure, businesses are struggling, but this is a corporate chain, and many of us lost our jobs. Who do you think needs the money more?

    How is it possible that I am being charged when I haven’t gone to the gym this year because Covid? You guys are taking my money from my card. I went twice in octubre and it was closed and yet you are still charging come on. I called costumer service and they treated me like .... that’s irresponsible. I could have been dead and you would have continued to charged me money.

    Went to this location post covid opening. People waiting outside are not social distancing and people inside are not wearing a mask. I see PF and their staff not taking public health seriously! I read PF responding to most of the reviews to take it up to the manager, but it should come from the. I feel like I should bot have to address this kind of violation to manager, they should enforce it as part of opening gyms during pandemic. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

    Great gym. Many different workouts to choose from. 2 floors. Lots of treadmills and ellipticals. Many weight workouts as well. A few bench presses. Nice amount of dumbbells and barbells. There's a nice locker room with bathrooms and showers as well. Great place to workout especially for beginners.

    This gym used to be better. Staff is still friendly and helpful. However, machines are constantly "temporarily out of order" for weeks and months. Now the women's bathroom has become a big issue. Currently two working stalls, out of toilet paper the last two times I went to this gym. Cleaning spray and paper towels also need to be restocked more often throughout the gym. It's become too crowded, with many people just sitting on their phones. The free membership for teens has turned summers there into a playground. Disappointed as it's been my gym for years and it's a great location. I don't think I'll be renewing my membership.

    A lot of the staff and environment is friendly, but the general manager and this one staff named 'Dalia' really completely ruins the mood. General Manager will be uptight about anything and is less than willing to help, while Dalia is the one girl no one likes in school because she reminds the teacher about the homework. If this place was your last option I would go, but I recommend going elsewhere. The place has really went downhill ever since management changed.

    It used to be okay, I come here i can never ever get a machine always packed. If you join, you better hope you never run into any problems because the staff will not help you out, so you can't even get a treadmill on off peak hours and everything is dirty. I assume it's the free teenager program for the summer, but it makes the gym unusable for paying members.

    This gym overcharged me and now that it suddenly closed indefinitely, I cannot speak with someone to dispute the charge until they re-open. This is unacceptable. There should be someone there to handle customer service if they are still charging us.

    The gym is not what is wrong , the staff is not bad at all. There’s great staff like Jade and Sofia also Josh It’s the very poor management. One in particular named Mia. She is very rude and harsh, also walked away from members that needed help. She has an attitude and doesn’t seem to enjoy her job.

    I have been going to this gym for the last 4 years. The gym is very clean, has a lot of good equipment and the staff is very friendly. A staff member/Trainer in particular named Shabaaz is very good!! He knows how to train people the right way based on their fitness level. He knows a variety of good workouts that will push you, gives good tips, and will constantly motivate you. Highly recommend him!!!!

    Gym in INCREDIBLY packed, dirty, and has broken equipment. That being said, there's another planet fitness not too far away that's not packed at all, has good working equipment and is well kept. I'd give this spot 5 stars if it was anything like the one on 86th st.

    As earlier reviews stated correctly there's absolutely most horrendous gym in the network indeed, gangs of teenagers run amok breaking the equipment and staff pay no attention, dirt is everywhere, overfilled garbage, broken sanitizers, no managerial presence and involvement whatsoever. It is useless to leave any objective review since no action will be taken and cookie cutter answers will be served. Clear and simple- stay away!

    I only go here cause of cost and convenience to my home. they’re really slow on fixing broken equipment like the water fountains, elevators and the equipment thats usually down for days and even weeks on end like the treadmills especially. A 1/3rd could down easily at a time. Some of the staff are helpful and transparent though but I don’t know what’s going on with management.

    Black card members should not have to deal with broken hydromassage chairs. Maintenance comes before things break!! Maintain it! Take responsibility. Sorry does not mean u will not charge me for the upcoming month. It is the most dirty planet fitness. Floor is uneven and equipments are placed on top. 1 out of 3 machines are broken. Managers attitude is above and beyond her job.

    Opened a black membership for my brother and went in person to fill out paper work properly and asked the worker behind the desk if everything was filled out correctly and was told everything was. I’m in the military so I was only here for a week. It’s been almost 2 month and my brother told me that everytime he goes there they tell him he’s not allowed in due to it being under my name. Im currently 8 months pregnant so I obviously didn’t take out the membership for myself. They never gave my brother a keychain barcode or took his photo for the account. Been trying to call to cancel the membership but they always say they’re busy and I’m stationed in NC so I can’t even cancel it from a local planet fitness. Im basically paying for no reason since they won’t even let my brother into the gym and I can’t use the membership. Employees are rude and aren’t helpful. Wouldn’t recommend. Still waiting to get through to cancel the membership. I was told I have to wait 90 days to transfer my home gym to one here. I would continue to pay for another month and the annual fee for a gym I don’t even attend.

    I just rejoined this facility and went for the first time yesterday. I noticed immediately that several members were not cleaning the machines after using which concerned me. I am fully vaccinated and do not want to get Covid. I didn't see any staff checking members for compliance and advised a young lady at the front desk before I left. what I observed. I'm going back today and hope I see a difference as this exact issue is why I was reluctant to come back.

    I am a member there. It is very conveniently located. They are open 24 hours a day, 7bdays a week. There is a good selection of machines. The staff is good and cooperative. There is no pool, no shower and no towels available. The price is very reasonable. If you go after 12 am most of the machines will be available. If you buy the black membership you will get access to spa, where you can get massage and stuff plus you will be able to bring a guest with you every time you visit the gym.

    The gym itself is ok. A lot of cardio equipment and machines, but absolutely not enough free weights and benches. But at this time it's almost useless to be a member in case you plan to go to the gym on weekday evenings. You'll have to wait in line for about an hour outside in the cold to get in. It's understandable that the gym is trying to prevent spread of covid by limiting it's capacity. But at the same time not much is done to reduce the waiting time. They could extend working hours, limit time of everyone's visit to 1 hour, or at least make crowd meter in the app actually work accurately.

    I’ve been coming here for a while now and it’s a good gym with a very convenient location. However, it is constantly crowded and I mean constantly. The only way to beat the crowd is to probably go early in the AM or late at night. I recommend checking the PF crowd meter as it seems to be pretty accurate. Additionally, it’s also pretty hard to get a machine as all of them are taken at all times, which makes it difficult to get a proper workout in. The layout of the gym is also quite narrow and there’s really not much space to do your own thing. Nonetheless, for the price, location and what it offers, I believe it’s a great gym.

    This gym is a disaster, no ac at least at low settings. My mom had a worse experience today, the locker room was closed for 30 mins for cleaning, and when people that was standing next out told employe that they need their stuff to leave, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. Also employees don’t pay attention to kid that are running around spraying equipment sanitizer, trowing stuff, etc. Safety is at 0 in this gym

    I actually like this planet fitness. It's clean. Their is space to breathe even when packed. However their should be a rule that states that if ur not working out u must leave. Too many people who paid for a service to watch it turn into a playground for grown people. Stations are cleaner then most. I actually see workers doing their job haven't met anyone rude so far. And that's it. I like the fact that they have space... Esp for anxiety prone like me

    The price for this gym is more than fair. The locker rooms are pretty spacious and safe. There're a lot of machines and 2 floors to spread out and do your own thing without competing for space. The staff are polite and professional, and if you need something just ask. Masks are required at all times and the wait to get in will vary depending on when you go, but just check the app's crowd meter.

    I don't know how they're allowed to be open. One in five members runs around in some way unmasked-- either by keeping it under their nose or by using it as a chinstrap.     Bad customer service, rude staff (Delia or Dalia- Assistant manager) everybody else have been just nice and attentive. I have a black membership and I invited my boyfriend with me, as a guest. I barely come to the gym because of work, covid etc. I come once every 2-3 months (I know I shouldn’t even have a membership) I asked the lady nicely at the front desk for an extra coin for my guest, knowing that it is for members only. I explained to her that I barely come and if she could please give me an extra coin for the massage chair. However instead of just saying No, she started yelling and being so rude, giving me attitude and stating: you can speak to a manage if you want, but I am the assistant manager here. I never lost my temper even though she was being so dismissive and rude. I even told her to stop yelling and being rude at me. After such a bad experience with your staff, I am just deciding to not ever come again and just cancel my membership. I would pay special attention to the type of employees you hire. I know it is just a gym, but customer service should be priority in any type of establishment. Customers don’t like to be treated this way. By the way, I am giving 2 stars for the equipment, cleanliness and location, but if rating would depend for customer service only, I would give zero stars.

    I think it's pretty good for the price ($10 per month). The machines are dirty and some are broken. There were no functional rowing machines when I was going there. Sometimes, the AC isn't working and it takes a long time for them to fix it. There's an issue with people hanging out in front of the weights like they're going to use them but never actually using them, so the rest of us just have to wait or find alternatives. However, since there is so much equipment, you can still get a good workout. Gyms without those issues are a lot more expensive (at least the ones I know of). The staff have always been friendly to me and as far as I've seen. I've never experienced the problems some people have mentioned. The overall environment varies from nice to kind of douchey and crowded. You just have to pick the right times to go. I'm willing to put up with the downside of it for the price. But I also got some exercise equipment a few months ago, so I've been working out at home and skipping the trip over there.

    The young lady whom was at the desk today. Was not attentive to her duties. She was on her phone and made me wait. Nor able to acknowledge a customer was at the desk. The scanner was not registering my account. And she was like" all you have to do is scan it" So I tried the other one lined it up, and she said "see". (With a hint of sass). Nothing big.     BE AWAR: On Saturday October 23 I had incident. I was there at about 4m pm afternoon. I wanted to use treadmill at the last raw next to windows. 2 or 3 treadmills were with sign that they did not work. I noticed that one is availbe. It has TV on and no anyone on it. I stepped on it. It turned out was running at full speed. The fall was so unexpected , sudden , and laud that people were runinng to me offering help. I hit hard my right knee, left arm , and head. People were telling to call police and asking about my wellbeing. No one from from workers offered any help or made inquires about my condition. I made pictures of my injuries and tried to pull myself together. I sit for a while in a locker room and decided to go home get some ice, bandaids I stoped downstairs to tell at receptions about incident. The worker took notes, said that a manager will call me . It never happened. My intention was to let know the management that they have elderly people in gym and that it is dangerous to have running trademills without people with turned TV on. I did not call to police to report incident, but I could. I thought management will do a right thing. THEY DO NOT CARE UNLESS YOU WILL CALL POLICE TO REPORT INCIDENTS!!!!
