I
went
after
a
visit
to
the
Museum
of
the
City
of
New
York,
at
around
5:45.
I
was
starving,
freezing
cold,
and
I
wanted
nice
hot
food.
I
knew
this
place
from
BA’s
YouTube
video
and
had
high
expectations.
It
turned
out
that
they
had
only
a
few
vegetarian
dishes
left
so
there
was
pretty
much
no
places
for
me
to
choose.
I
got
whatever
they
could
offer
(the
kale
and
okra
stew,
the
ruby
rice,
fried
plantains,
black
eyed
pea
salad,
and
yassa
yassa).
While
I
had
no
huge
complaints
about
the
food,
I
must
say
that
the
overall
flavor
profile
of
the
specific
bowl
I
got
was
a
bit
unbalanced.
The
yassa
yassa
(caramelized
onions
seasoned
with
lime)
was
way
too
sour.
(By
the
way,
I’m
the
kind
of
person
who
eats
lemons
as
whole
fruit.)
I
could
absolutely
taste
nothing
from
the
onions
besides
the
tartness
and
was
very
confused.
I
tried
to
balance
out
the
overpowering
tartness
by
eating
with
plantains
but
that
didn’t
do
the
job
as
well.
The
plantains
was
out
there
for
too
long
and
got
super
mushy.
No
crispness
and
kinda
oily.
The
rice
also
was
dried
out
and
clumped
up
together,
had
a
pretty
nice
tomato-ey
flavor
tho.
The
kale
stew
was
decent.
The
pea
salad
I
liked.
Overall,
not
the
best
first
impression.
The
servers
were
nice
people.
The
interior
was
gorgeous.
It
was
just
the
food,
which
is
supposed
to
be
the
most
important
part,
that
didn’t
live
up
to
my
expectations.
For
11
bucks,
I’d
rather
just
eat
at
my
school
cafeteria
(which
often
serves
African-inspired
food
and
does
a
pretty
good
job).
I
guess
I
just
didn’t
come
at
a
right
time.
