I think this area is the most beautiful place in Central where you can see a lot of cherry blossoms during the cherry blossom season. It's also safe.

Great monument to a bygone Mayor who lost his life in WWI

The sunset view of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir is spectacular.

Nice little stop in Central Park honoring the former city mayor. Behind this is the breathtaking Central Park reservoir.

John Purroy Mitchel (1879 – 1918) was the 95th mayor of NYC, from 1914 to 1917. At age 34 he was the second-youngest ever; he is sometimes referred to as "The Boy Mayor of New York." Died in the line of duty in the WWI (non-combat airplane crash in Louisiana).

Beautiful ornate exit/entrance to Central Park, very close to the Guggenheim.

Near the reservoir, and many cherry trees (which are actually trees gifted by japan 100 yrs ago) great view of blossoms in the spring.
