Do not stay here. They pretend to be a nice hotel but it's really awful. There is no front desk, no bellmen. There are literally zero amenities to this place. The WiFi was trash my 5g was faster, we had broken furniture in our room. The back two legs of the couch were broken so it was tilted back. We booked a suite so there was a sitting area but it was useless. There was a giant stain on the hallway carpet right outside the room. The door lock looked damaged/parted open. The door had to be forced closed. The bed itself was clean thankfully. The bathroom had no makeup mirror and some of the worst lighting I have ever experienced in a hotel room. In the bathroom there were towels, that's it, no wash clothes/hand towels. I had to track some down on my first morning there and it took about an hour. They do have a coffee bar that turns into a regular bar but that's about it. The elevator took forever. Just nothing about this experience was comfortable. We actually left the property early because it was uncomfortable. I tried to discuss my experience with them both in person and online and they don't care. The person I spoke with on the phone was rude and condescending. They have our money but they will never get another cent. Hopefully this review points you elsewhere cause this place is fake nice.

I stayed here in February and was boiling. The AC didn’t work. It was very hot in the unit and the windows didn’t have screens. You couldn’t even get room service, or water, or glass of wine. Good coffee shop in lobby and quaint touch to the place, but overall lacked major comfortability . No gym either.

4.5. Great hotel in the heart of Chelsea. King room was adequate with lots of charm. We purposely stay here for the location and ambience. Check in/out was a breeze. They held our bags for a few hours after check out. The coffee bar in the lobby had excellent coffee for a decent price. The outside cocktail bar was delightful with lots of seating and typical expensive Chelsea drinks. In room A/C worked well, road noise was present but we brought a white noise machine and it helped. We will stay here again.

If you are a fan of old mysteries, where the uncle kicks the bucket and everyone's a suspect, set in old rustic hotels then this is the place for you. The decor was old.... And I don't mean antique. The chair was so broken and I was scared to sit in it. The curtain had holes. The carpet was dirty. The elevator carpet looked like the spot where the mystery began. The bathroom light dimmed when I turned don the shower. The air conditioner clanked. Why didn't I leave? I was only there for one night. I slept with one eye open... Well, truth is I hardly slept. Not worth the cost. Not worth the nightmares.

DO NOT STAY - BED BUGS I have traveled all over the world- including India- and I have never gotten bed bugs- never did I think I would pick them up in America at a nice hotel... Just stayed here over labor and contracted a case of bed bugs. I did not notice the bites until returning home. Just had a specialist come out this morning and confirmed they were bed bugs. Unfortunately I have contacted the hotel 10+ times and no one will call me back or give me the time of day. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here!

We were locked out at midnight for 20 minutes with 6 other guests who were banging on the door and calling, key card didn’t work, no one was attending the front desk or responding. When the night manager finally arrived, after we were all treated atrociously by the service attendant who finally appeared to mouth to us that we had to stay outside, while he retrieved the night manager, the night manager was defensive and said he was “only in the bathroom for 10 minutes.” No apology. No service recovery effort. Just a lengthy explanation of why they have to leave the door locked because of the “nefarious characters” who would otherwise try to enter. Then he admitted the door fob has not been working for a few days. So—how about a “be right back sign” or a free cocktail? Nothing? Or how about fix the gd door. Nope. Just a long-winded diatribe about how we should have been more patient? Nice. Really fancy. Thanks so much. And the operations manager this morning? He could not have cared less. I feel like it’s a cute location but it could be so much better if the staff gave a flying f. Thank you!

Just had a nice weekend at the High Line. The area is great and is far more quiet than many other parts of the city. The building and common areas are very cool, including a really nice patio and coffee bar. Front desk staff were all very nice. The room was fine if small even by NYC standards. However, given the price point ($600/night), there seemed to be a disconnect between the room amenities and the price. No washcloths in the room or available at all, no bottled water, inability to control heat/air conditioning, etc. These things don't cost a ton but create an experience that fits with the brand.

Pros: - Location is great, and coffee shop and bar are fantastic. - Love the old school architecture - My room was large and quiet (garden facing) Cons: - Basic amenities in room, no coffee, water, water glass. TV is old and clunky. - Bathroom was small and dark. - AC barely kept up with outside temps - Desperately needs an interior refresh given the price.

Stayed two nights for the convenience to my events. Has 3 issues, one of which was resolved (TV didn't work). The room was much too warm to sleep comfortably and the thermostat didn't work. The bathtub also did not drain well so you end up standing in water. The bar, coffee, and front desk were friendly but the problems were not resolved.

I cannot say I'd rate this as a 4 star hotel as it's advertised. Sure, it is charming, but it's also very old (not in a good way) and basic conveniences are missing in the room. The toiletries are from a good brand but there are no cotton swabs in the bathroom. There is no bottled water, no coffee or tea, not even a kettle. Sure, there is a fancy coffee bar downstairs that's open till 5pm but I think customers expect these basic things, in the room, from even lower rated hotels. The sound isolation is non existent, bring ear plugs! The mattress is comfy (and you can buy it at a discount, as your key card holder and an ad in the room will tell you). The furniture is definitely period but it has seen better days, it's beat up and tired. The rug has holes in it. There's no central light so the room stays dark and is unable to be adequately lit with small lamps. The curtains look faded and even though they are dark and heavy, the big gaps let the morning light into the room. You can see cracks in the walls and remnants of a water leak in the ceiling. The windows are terribly dirty. At least the linens and towels are nice and clean. If you want to stay in a hotel with a character, this will do it. If you want to stay at a hotel with amenities, book elsewhere!

The bar outside the hotel is a fine place to relax with a strong drink with friends. Tucked away in a lush green patio just off 10th avenue, with easy sights and scenes of passing New Yorkers - including Sandra Bernhardt, who was strolling by as we left. With the red London bus permanently parked along an outdoor wall, blasts of the AC from the lobby, and colorful flowers blooming around smiles and laughter, it may be one of the finest offbeat oasis’s in the neighborhood. You will be paying Manhattan hotel price points, but you’ll also feel a savory warm buzz in comfort and style. People watching spot galore. Try the “Interstellar” cocktail to climb the atmosphere quickly.

Do not stay at this hotel in warm weather. Building has a lot of charm and location is convenient. However, as told to me directly from their staff, the AC is designed to only operate when you are present in the room. That may be true but I was in my room for 3 straight hours preparing for a presentation and it never cooled down below 77 degrees. The front lobby and hallways were significantly cooler than my room. I was provided a Honeywell fan for my room. Not much help. Staff was apologetic but it was clear there was no resolution. Friends staying there said the same for their rooms as well so it’s not isolated to just one room or issue. They also says they would remove the facility fee from my bill for the inconvenience which did not happen. Update - the facility fee was credited to my account.

Stayed there for a weekend. Great location, quite hotel. I only put 3 stars cause it was pouring rain on the last day, and they didn’t have umbrellas available! The front desk told me that the management was already aware about it and assumed it. When you pay for this level of service, they shouldn’t cut on this.

I stayed here because I used to live in this neighborhood and came to High Line a lot. I am traveling for work and was shocked that nothing in the room functioned properly (safe, telephone, drain for sink), no laundry, no coffee before 7AM (not great when you are traveling internationally), no food available at all. This is an overpriced college dorm room. Avoid. The attendant at the front admitted their hotel doesn’t have amenities that justify the $700+a night price tag. Will not return.

Absolutely fabulous hotel in a great location with staff that will make you feel like family! A must stay while visiting NYC! We enjoyed walking the High Line and we received free passes to workout at Chelsea Piers!

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This site will compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't regret it. The customer service was exceptional. Frank Kelly greeted us on arrival, made sure our bags were secured until our room was available and provided all the information we needed to find our way around. The rooms are spotless and the atmosphere relaxing and beautiful. Great coffee too. Don’t know why anyone would stay anywhere else.

Beautiful old hotel in a good location. The room was spacious for NYC, the bed was comfy and the grounds are gorgeous. But I would not stay here again due to lack of AC, any sort of decent light in the bathroom or room (basically doing makeup in the dark), and basic amenities like water cups. For the price, you can stay somewhere that offers more.

Not a hotel review but a review of the grounds by a guy who used to live nearby and really enjoyed grabbing a coffee and being on some grass in a nice quiet spot. It’s a good place to wile away some spring weekend hours and if you can squeeze your way into the hotel a bit there are some fantastic old seminary halls and rooms to explore

A beautiful old house but unfortunately also very run down and with many weaknesses. It reminded me of the neighboring Jane Hotel. The noise from the street was extreme because the windows were not insulated. You could hear the conversations in front of the house and he wind pulled so strongly through the window that you had to turn on the heater, which in turn is so loud that you could only sleep with earplugs. The reception was also not occupied as described from 7h, but in most days only from 8h, coffee was often even later. Once I came downstairs and a dog was upright with his feet on the counter of the service area, the staff tolerated this. When it rains, the water is in the entrance area. A small bottle of water costs $6!!! This is an outrage for hotel guests in my opinion! The door to the hallway is also not insulated and you can hear everything that happens in the house there too. Overall our room was also very run down. Compared to the standard High Line Hotel in the neighborhood, this hotel falls far.

This is an amazing property on historic grounds. The place has been outfitted and maintained with a lot of original period items. A wired, dial telephone, antique desk and lamps, woodwork, windows, etc. Oh, and what seems like the original elevator from a century ago. But this all blends with modern comforts. Disappointed that there was no in room coffee, and no complimentary coffee in the lobby either - they do have a barista you can buy from though.

Older hotel but done well. No extras but everything you need to have a great stay. Good coffee shop in the lobby and wonderful outdoor space if the weather cooperates. Outdoor bar is nice from 3 to 11.

Just a shout out to the manager and customer service team at the The High Line Hotel. My wife and I had a two night stay planned this week. Unfortunately our dog became ill and we needed to go home suddenly. They were kind enough to refund us for the night we didn't use. Thank you so much! (BTW the dog was very happy to see us and he seems to be covering from his issue.) We were sad to leave because it's such a special hotel--great rooms, great service, great location. We'll be back soon!

Stayed here on a work trip and had a lovely stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was plenty large for my 4-day stay. The best part of the hotel has to be the front dining area with the matching, social media-friendly pink flower front arch and British double decker bus.

The room was clean and the service was great. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The corner room was spacious with plenty of natural light, but unfortunately too close to the noisy streets. From what I heard, the garden facing rooms were quieter but also smaller.

Fabulous hotel, great location. Comfy bed and spacious room. Lovely garden bar and surrounds. Good location, quite a few eating options close by, short walk to markets and restaurants. Love the styling in the rooms and hotel...great place to stay, would stay here again!

Stopped in for some cocktails to escape a hot NYC afternoon! Easily accessible from the high line, we didn’t manage to get a seat outdoors but they do have lots of outdoor seating as well as indoor near the lobby bar! The only downside is the lack of restroom facilities in their lobby. There is one all gender restroom, so prepare for a line up!

The friendliness of the staff put this experience above the expected, beautifully appointed, well located stay. Our room over the courtyard with its grand, old sycamore tree was luxuriously quiet. If you love rugs and antiques this place is worth a night's stay. Loved the stamp embosser, and don't miss the grand hall before you leave. Could have been Hogwarts!

Charming hotel in a former monastery. Don’t expect super fancy. They didn’t completely gut renovate it, so you still have some of the charm of the original rooms. The lobby is really just a coffee shop and the check in process is a little awkward at the kiosk, you’re kind of in the way all the time. But I prefer this so much more to the alternative.
