My
husband
and
I
stayed
at
The
Michelangelo
this
past
weekend
for
a
3-night
stay
in
NYC.
The
pros:
Location!
This
hotel
is
conveniently
located
to
Times
Square
(if
that's
your
thing),
but
also
close
to
the
subway
to
get
you
anywhere
you
need
to
go.
The
lobby
of
this
hotel
is
beautiful!
The
front
desk
staff
were
extremely
friendly
and
accommodating.
We
arrived
early,
and
were
offered
a
room
upgrade
(for
a
small
nightly
fee)
since
our
room
was
not
available
yet.
We
took
the
upgrade
(to
a
suite)
since
we
were
told
it
was
a
larger
room,
and
on
the
'quiet'
side
of
the
hotel,
with
a
'courtyard
view'.
The
suite
was
extremely
large,
with
a
full
sitting
area,
and
a
WALK
IN
closet!
This
was
a
dream
for
someone
like
myself
who
prefers
to
completely
unpack
and
hang
all
my
clothes,
even
just
for
a
weekend
stay.
There
was
also
a
large
dresser
with
drawers
for
storage.
The
cons:
The
'courtyard
view'
was
an
inside
view
of
the
building/other
rooms,
and
we
couldn't
even
see
sunlight
from
our
window,
making
it
very
dark
and
dreary
inside
the
room.
The
hotel
is
very
old,
and
while
they
attempt
to
embrace
the
vintage
charm,
it
missed
the
mark
for
us.
The
lobby
is
beautiful,
but
the
rooms
need
some
work.
If
you're
looking
for
an
updated,
modern
hotel,
this
is
not
it
(to
be
fair,
they
do
not
claim
to
be).
I
can
appreciate
some
vintage
flair,
as
long
as
the
room
is
clean
and
kept
up.
However,
that
was
not
the
case
here.
The
bathtub/shower
combo
had
chips
of
ceramic
missing
on
the
floor
of
the
tub.
The
bathtub
did
not
drain
properly,
so
by
the
end
of
the
shower,
I
was
standing
up
to
my
ankles
in
water.
The
toilet
also
did
not
flush
properly.
The
guest
name
on
the
home
screen
of
the
TV
was
not
ours
-
and
while
this
is
miniscule,
I
only
note
it
because
it
shows
the
lack
of
oversight
of
small
details
that
does
not
provide
a
luxury
experience.
Note:
Our
weekend
trip
was
jam-packed,
so
we
didn't
feel
like
having
to
wait
on
maintenance
to
come
and
try
to
fix
the
bathtub
and
toilet
drainage
issue.
We
did
bring
it
up
to
the
front
desk
just
so
they
could
make
a
note
of
it
to
look
into
once
we
left,
but
the
last
thing
we
wanted
to
do
on
our
short
stay
was
deal
with
maintenance
for
the
room.
Overall,
our
stay
was
okay,
but
we
had
much
higher
expectations
given
the
overall
good
reviews
we
have
seen.
