😐 I would recommend all new freshmen to go to rate my professor on Google and type their name when you're registering for classes so you won't waste your money on a bad professor. The school lunch is quite expensive, I would recommend buying from a store and it taste better as well. The area is prett... QCC is not a bad Community College (in my personal opinion) and even though I did experience some issue with some professors, It was water under the bridge for me afterwards. The QCC Campus give out a positive vibe when I walk through it. The staff the I experience have always been very helpful to me to some extended. QCC has option about buying food. QCC also has a tutoring and a writing center to help students. The School Safety Dept. is really committed to keep student safe. Personally, The only thing that I did not enjoy was the library and lounge area, It can very difficult to study due to the students "partying" or acting as it some social club by blasting loud music and leaving food on the tables after said student leaves and no staff member or school safety officer enforce it. Basically there is TOO MUCH freedom in the library, hence having a hard time studying in the library. My First Spring 2017 and Summer Semester 2017: I recently finished my first semester back in May (Spring 2017). It was a great semester. My professor were the best. I also did a crash math course for 5 weeks during July and passed it. The math professor I had was awesome and extremely helpful. I will update when I finish my Fall semester of 2017. Update 2017 No .1: So I recently applied for the ASAP program where I accept at first but I was then denied later on because I was target as financial risk to their program for certain reasons. They said that they hopeful give me leverage if I was to take a remedial course if I passed (which I did with a “B” letter grade) but in the day nobody from asap kept their word hence I was still revoked acceptance from the ASAP program. I did fight but nor Student affair or the Dean of QCC want to give my fair justice. They pretty much brushed me aside. Which shows that some of the campus officials have no form of integrity nor honor and is a huge contraction to it own policies. QCC is kind of hypocrites to there Zero Tolerance Police, they take more of a passives approach instead of being aggressive. Fall 2017 Semester: I just finished my Fall semester of 2017 and beside having to drop a couple of class because whatever issue I had with my two professors; but in the end my semester of Fall 2017 was okay. I still haven't been given the fair justice by any of QCC officials and I’m still brushed aside with my issue I had with the ASAP Program. Which again shows that they have no form of integrity nor honor and is a huge contraction to it own policies. Fall 2020 Semester: So after a while of being absent from QCC, I had a very successful semester with grades this year. Even though I already know and the Zoom classes, it was very new to me but none the less I learned and overcome it, I had very awesome Professor's!!! They were helpful to me during the Fall Semester of 2020. Fall 2020 was very successful to me in QCC General Overall Update July 2022: I had a very successful semester with excellent grades each semsters. My only issue(s) would be is the whole college bureaucracy. The bureaucracy at QCC has been very stressful for me espeacially given that I am chronically ill and it really effects with my mental health beyond measure. Depending on the classes, some of the Professors incorpated/entrapped there political opinions /ideas/agendas in there assignments/teachings, which was very messed up becuase I felt like they were looking to see or root out on who is/was "racist ", prejudiced" or a SWJ(social warrior justice) The same goes for the whole campus. There is a lot of PC (Political correctness) within the whole campus and professors. Final Update: I am no longer part od Queensborough Community College. I acutally transferred out from Queensborough Community College. I'm happy with the choice I made by transferring out from Queensborough Community College!

An excellent community college. Most professor I have encountered, are very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. The campus itself is nice, spacious and well kept. There’s paid parking on campus and plenty of free street parking in the surrounding blocks around. They also have a good food/drink selection at the cafeteria.

School cares about money, people are just unfriendly some professors and people at bursars/financial aid office have an attitude for no reason, i've been here since 2019 and still felt like i've not really learned anything and taking useless classes that has nothing to do with my career job

This college can burn down into ashes they dont care about their students just the $$$ they rob from you for teaching you absolutely. If you want to achieve something in life look for a different community college this college is trash.

Wonderful professors! some professors are very dedicated to their jobs and are very passionate about teaching. Others may be doing the bare minimum. Campus is nice, very hilly. Food options in cafeteria are expensive and average. Would recommend exploring the options outside of campus. Student body is very diverse and you’re bound to meet some amazing people. Met my amazing gf here!

An amazing college for students just starting out. You're definitely getting your money's worth coming to this school with professors that truly care and try to help you as much as possible (granted you checked their reputation with Rate My Professor).

This college is not that bad tbh, you dont have to listen to other people that keep on saying CC is bad. When I first attended in QCC, I thought the same thing as people think that CC is for bad people. and then later, I realized the students and professors are all friendly, they have tutors to help you to make sure you understand. And frankly, we definitely have some bad professors in the college that you should be careful. not just QCC or other CCs, I definitely thought other 4 years college or private colleges/ universities also have bad professors

Studied and had the opportunity to also work there for over 10 years in the Library-Reserve Area, then the IRS Instructional Resources Center computer area. Loved it. The Campus is beautiful. The staff and professors were great. To this day I still miss those days. 🙏🤗🤗🙏

had a really good experience here! transferred from a 4-year college and was definitely nervous at first, but QCC set me up very well to continue my education. nice atmosphere and campus, although be prepared to walk uphill! met some really interesting people here— including my lovely bf! If you’re considering restarting your education, getting another degree, or are coming in as a freshman i would highly recommend qcc— the experience is what you make of it!

My son had difficult fall 2021 semester. After contacting the college was answered by intelligent warm caring people from the bursars office to registrar office. Took the time to guide him through the trouble and now the spring semester looks promising ! Ty Josie Palmer Michele Mcloughlin Mary O’Gara and Joy ( sorry about not knowing your last name ) . With the difficult times we have been facing it’s nice to know that there are people who took the time to help and show my son support to receive and continue his education

Going to this school was mostly a good experience. Students from most of my classes were very polite and mature. Most of my professors are very caring toward students learning progress. Students act like adults at this place because this school is a very serene environment. Only two of my classes had mean students, but in most classes students are very respectful. One of my former professors taught something incorrectly and I corrected him. After the class that professor told me I cannot get a 96 in his class. I think that professor Khan just felt bad that he does not speak fluent English, considering that professor has an accent. That professor honestly did not speak fluent English. The rest of my professors at QCC were kind, professional, and respectful. I did eventually graduate though, and man that felt good. I think it takes ambition about what career I want, and that ambition could be what motivated me to graduate. There were times when I needed tutoring for a few of my QCC classes. QCC has free tutoring for students, and the tutoring I had was very helpful. Also QCC has many transfer agreements too. I remember when I went to forest hills high school some students were very mean back then. But that bullying is in the past, so I decided to look forward.

QCC is hosting The New York Wind Ensemble's concert and the acoustics are good with a wide stage area. Auditorium is clean and has a balcony.

I have to say that the cafeteria is TERRIBLE and RIP OFF.I don’t understand why it’s still exist in the college. The Spanish old man is extremely RUDE and money hunger. Please go to Student Union there are sells food by machine (show as picture below) it’s cheaper and nutrition.

I’m a student at Queensboro. The administration office is a mere joke, they don’t respect people’s time but will take any money thrown at them, enrollment is easy and staff is quick to help you before enrollment, no surprise there.. but as soon as you run into an issue where there’s a “hold” on your account from enrolling into classes, especially since I already had paid it off, it’s almost impossible to get anyone on the phone at any given day, administration claims that there busy with high volume calls when in reality there just walking around in the hallways getting lost with there unwashed coffee mugs, besides the disrespectful and entitlement-tone-of-voice every time I ask any question from any person within the administration office, I always leave with a sour taste in my mouth that is provided to you when speaking to the staff. I got 1 good call out of 10 within the last 6 months of enrollment, every time I try to get transferred, the call gets dropped too, I’ve also try using another phone, same issue, same experience. Going forward, the administration is the front of any institution, if this is the experience I have to go through every time I call, from being hung up on to the constant sarcasm through communication, try to figure everything out your own way I say, especially when advisement is of no help, seems like there is no communication at the offices within this institution when I keep getting transferred back to the same department from where I was transferred from. Makes no sense, prepare yourself before you enrolling here. If this is how the Education system works, sign me up for a job there, it’s a lot less work then running a coffee shop, “at least our mugs are washed”

The Continuing Ed Department has been, and continues to be, a great resource for many community members. It has started in-person personal development classes; swimming, tennis. They've been offering virtual job development classes during the pandemic. The hope is that other in person classes will come back next term.

I would recommend all new freshmen to go to rate my professor on Google and type their name when you're registering for classes so you won't waste your money on a bad professor. The school lunch is quite expensive, I would recommend buying from a store and it taste better as well. The area is pretty great. Some professor would really want you to pass, go to their office hours or tutoring, this would help a lot. There are students who still treats this campus like high school and they end up dropping the class within 3 weeks. Don't study in the library, it's always noise there. You can make friends but that's for like 4 months unless you guys have the same classes. Make sure, by all means to do all your homework as soon as possible. The amount of free time you get in college is a curse because students struggled to manage their time correctly, same with exams. If you want to graduate within 2 years, you can't fail or drop a class. Best of luck to you all.
