Complete disappointment. Was told first visit is comprehensive and takes longer than typical visit, my first (and only) visit lasted 35 minutes. The session started 10 min late, at the end when I asked how long a typical session lasts I was told 45-60 min. This initial assessment took about 5 minutes before I began getting worked on. Have been to multiple PTs before, all spent more time doing their initial assessments than Spear. Feels like one of those places more worried about quantity of clients than the quality of care they are receiving. Baffled why they are rated so highly

I can't say enough about Clyde and his Team. I have full mobility back after a terrible disc herniation that grounded me for a month and a half. I am forever grateful for the work that they did and continue to do.

Just left my last session with Sara! I have been going to PT at Spear for the last 4 months or so. I started physical therapy for one problem area and, unrelated to that, developed a separate issue. Sara was able to adjust my PT and developed a plan that helped me get back on the mend for both. She’s very patient and absolutely knows her craft. Everyone at this location was extremely friendly and supportive, and I always looked forward to seeing everyone. Highly highly recommend Spear, and especially Sara, for your PT needs!

Jamie Lief has been an amazing Pelvic OT at Spear Chambers Street. Her knowledge in this area was invaluable throughout my treatment, with specific exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, as well as everyday habits to fully tackle the root of my pelvic issues. Jamie has been so thorough in helping me reach my postpartum goals, and her personable manner has made our sessions really enjoyable. Thank you, Jamie!

In the past two years I have had two freak athletic injuries - A torn labrum from a fall playing Volleyball and torn MCLs from a slip on concrete. In each instance I went to the Tribeca location of Spear to recuperate from my injuries and both times I was treated with tremendous care and enthusiasm. Daisy Lei helped me be able to throw a ball again and Lauren Newman helped me walk/run/jump again. Before anything started, both took a good amount of time to methodically test my pain levels, strength, and range of motion to determine where to begin my exercise regimen. Throughout the entire process I never felt like I was pushed too hard too fast and always felt extremely informed on my progress. Each session begins with some derivative of "how are you feeling, how did you feel after last session," which I always really appreciated. When you are told to do exercises at home, they provided access to a handy app that allows you to track progress so you don't forget to do them. If the place gets busy the technicians are there to help guide you through your exercises so you are always attended to. And the icing on the cake... everyone is so freaking nice! It is a pleasure to interact with them. The best part, in both instances I fully recovered, and am back to doing what I love most, playing sports! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are in the unfortunate situation where you need to recover from injury, and like me, are avoiding surgery at all costs, go here, you will not regret it. You will be back on your feet and strong as ever before you know it. Thank you Daisy and Lauren for all that you do!!!

My toddler worked with Noelle at Spear for a few months to help with walking. She was kind, attentive, encouraging, and extremely knowledgeable. I’m so grateful for her work with my child and, while I hope we won’t need her services in the future, would ask for her without thinking twice if we need PT again.

I have been going to Spear in Tribeca since they opened. Lauren C. is a stellar therapist and an excellent clinical director. They do an excellent job of providing informed and attuned Physical Therapy.

I could not recommend Spear enough. The facilities are fantastic and they have locations throughout the city that make it extremely convenient and adaptable if you need to change locations. The therapists themselves are extremely knowledgeable but more importantly caring. I worked with two separate PTs post ACL-surgery as one moved out of the city and their care for my recovery was unlike anything I'd ever seen having worked with many physical therapists over the years. Clyde at the Chambers St location followed my progress over the last 6 months of my rehab and kept challenging and encouraging me and has become a mentor for me throughout my recovery. 5 stars all around and beyond.

Top notch care! Clyde and the entire team at SPEAR in Tribeca provided wonderful support on my road to recovery from a debilitating back injury. I arrived on my first day using a cane, limping my way to and from. I left practically ready to run and jump... definitely stronger and wiser from the expert therapy and training they provided. Clyde is wonderful to work with! Knowledgable, helpful, empathetic and professional. He provided me with valuable insight about my condition and explained the intent for all of the exercises and treatments used in my recovery. I feel confident that the arsenal of movements, stretches and intelligence I gained will help me stay fit and mobile in the future. Thanks to Resham for helping out, too. I HIGHLY recommend SPEAR!

I worked with Jamie Lief for about a year and would recommend her to anyone who needs pelvic floor therapy. I started seeing Jamie to address some lingering pain from my first pregnancy, then kept working with her all through my second. During this second pregnancy, I felt much stronger and had less hip pain, and I think Jamie's guidance was a big part of that! I was also able to avoid the postpartum issues I had with my first pregnancy. She's very knowledgeable and eager to discuss the "why" behind her recommendations if you're interested. Our sessions included tailored exercises and massage, and instructions for what to do at home. She was also able to adjust the frequency of our sessions over time to meet my needs, varying from 2x/week to every other week. I found the gym space comfortable and well run, and the front desk and billing to be headache-free.

Lauren Newman at Spear on Chambers is an absolute miracle worker. I started seeing her in late May after a low back sprain left me in constant pain. Over two months, Lauren helped me better understand the types of exercises that could support my whole body and prevent further strain. I'm now pain free - and, most importantly, I have a newfound appreciation for a whole new set of muscles that I didn't even know existed! Thank you, Lauren!

PT was helpful but mysterious charges were billed long afterwards, in addition to the regular charges per visit. Calls to fix the issue end up at a third party billing service, and in the end I paid to just be done with it. Beware of billing sketchiness :/

Great vibe in this place. Everyone is relaxed and professional. You get the feeling the organization is well run and there are great vibes from the front desk all the way up. I had a great experience from start to finish. oh, and Sarah is a genius!

I really have enjoyed my experience at Spear Physical Therapy, and working with my assigned PT Meredith Craig. The space clean and feels more like a gym. I also like being around other clients working out around me. It makes for a lot of positive energy in the space and a feeling that there is a community focused on getting healthy.

For a six week period I had twice weekly sessions at Spear on Chambers St. with Lauren Newman. Lauren was great to work with, she listened to what I needed and developed exercises which I could also do at home. Scheduling was never an issue and was always ready for me when I arrived. I would recommend Spear and if you can get her, would recommend Lauren.

Zero stars. Went once. The treatment was fine but Spear refuses to submit bill to workers comp despite claiming to accept workers comp as payment. Instead they are harassing me for payment. Do not recommend if you are using workers comp or any other insurance. If you’re paying out of pocket it’s probably fine?

I've worked with both Jamie Lief and Lily Jilk at this location and they are both phenomenal! They're knowledgable and personable and offer very personalized care. The entire staff is really friendly and the place is spacious and clean. Highly recommend for any PT or OT needs.

Tina Wang is a delightful human with great bedside manner and expertise. She is willing to adjust exercises if they are painful and is kind and respectful. The gym is clean and COVID safe, with friendly, understanding staff. I definitely recommend SPEAR in general, but especially Tina.

I was a patient at Spear Chambers for almost a year and a half. I came in after my 2nd hip surgery, a labral reconstruction, and saw Andy Pakter. For reference I have been to over 6 physical therapists for my hip injury over the years, so I feel I have a lot to compare my treatment to. Andy was amazing! I am only 29 and very active and my hip made it feel like I was never going to feel better. I started seeing Andy right before covid started at 2 weeks post op. Andy was so knowledgeable right off the bat and helped me understand exactly what was happening with my recovery. Even during covid he showed up 3 times a week to treat me in the office because I needed more help than just virtual. While everyone else was at home safe he came in to ensure that I was getting the best treatment possible. If that doesn’t show dedication I don’t know what does. I continued to be treated for the next year and a half, and during that time Andy helped me get strong and feel like my hip wasn’t going to limit me the rest of my life like it had before. I was able to return to the gym and get back in a shape I was used to. Unfortunately my surgery was not what they would classify as “successful” but despite that Andy worked with me and helped me more than I could have imagined. Sadly I had to stop going to Spear when I moved back to the west coast and it is honestly one of the things I miss most about the city! I have tried PTs out here, but none even come close to comparing. I also want to comment on Chambers in general. Although I saw Andy for my hip, everyone at Chambers was amazing! You end up feeling like a family. From the front desk to all the therapist. It makes something that can be as monotonous as physical therapy fun and something to actually look forward to. I don’t think I ever saw anyone in a bad mood. I also saw Sarah Shoemaker at the beginning of my pregnancy for pelvic floor therapy and she was amazing as well, but I feel that she deserve her own review! All this is to say if you are looking for a solid physical therapy…. Go to Spear!

I’ve had a great experience at Spear Physical Therapy. The team has been very accommodating to my schedule and is very knowledgeable. My tasks are always well explained, and targeted to my condition. I’m very appreciative of my therapist and am happy that I have decided to take this path.

I started going to Spear Physical Therapy after I had a knee operation. The facility is nice and clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I am working with Ryan Pena, who is an amazing physical therapist. Ryan is a compassionate, concerned PT who pushes you to do the most you can. More importantly, he has a great sense of humor and laughs at my (usually) bad jokes. I highly recommend Spear and Ryan in particular.

My experience at Spear Chambers St has been phenomenal. My condition improved almost immediately. My PT Alyse listens carefully to my feedback and has created a stretching program for me to do at home when my prescription is complete. Assistants Cayla and Michael are friendly and knowledgeable as they work me through exercises. The front desk people are always friendly and they have made my experience seamless. The facility is quite nice as well; clean and spacious. This place is unbelievable and although I hope I never need to return, I will not hesitate to do so if need be. 5 stars is not enough. Can I give them 10?

I had a wonder experience at Spear. My 4 year old went in, followed the care plan and came out doing wonderful. Julia B. did a great job with her and related to her really well. Kids are difficult to work with and she navigated it well, kept her focused, and still had “fun” Not only was the clinical staff great the support staff was awesome. Answer inquires in a timely manner, assisted with paperwork and authorizations and was so welcoming to us and to everyone who came in for therapy. First name basis with pretty much everyone. That is a really nice touch especially when you are working on your health I would recommend Spear!

My PT experience to date has been everything I anticipated and more. My issue as a relatively active senior widower was some intermittent lower back discomfort. The weekly sessions (about 4-5 weeks) to date have been very helpful and greatly reduce my level of discomfort. Aside from the varied basic exercises encouraged , I am welcoming expansion of these exercises to further encompass my need for full body / muscle activity. I value my aged body being free of typical issues common to many seniors and it is my hope and intent that the exposure and instructions learned at Spear PT will keep my body, mind and spirit fully healthy -flexible and able to enjoy various activities in my day to day routines. I greatly appreciate the services provided at Spear and their expert staff members in a very productive setting! Sincerely, Mal Schuster

The staff at the Spear - Chambers Street location are all knowledgeable and very friendly. Everyone is easy to talk to and jumps in to help even if it’s not their assigned patient. I’ve gone for multiple injuries and couldn’t see myself going anywhere else for my physical therapy needs.

Our doctor recommended PT to address our newborn's torticollis. Julia Branton at Spear was so warm and friendly. Our baby took to her right away! She was helpful in showing us exercises we could do at home to strengthen his neck muscles. She was so gentle and made us feel comfortable immediately. Two sessions with her really helped us get comfortable with his exercises and now he has full range of motion with his neck! Couldn't recommend her and the clinic enough!

II started PT here with a torn rotator cuff. Gradually and thoughtfully I was given a range of exercises that increased mobility so much. Alyse was my therapist, she is knowledgable, very considerate regarding your injury and informative. I thank her for giving me back what had become a virtually. immovable arm

Spear is the best. This studio has great equipment, the environment is clean and all of the staff are very friendly. My therapist was Lily Jilk - who is incredible. She was amazing to work with. She not only helped me feel better - but she gave me confidence in my foot and my overall performance which I hadn’t known since before my injury. She has an amazing calm way about her and I would recommend her to anyone!

I went to Spear Chambers Street during my twin pregnancy. My PT Lily is amazing - knowledgeable, compassionate, fun to work with. She helped me stay strong and flexible all the way to delivery. Excellent labor prep and education, very helpful pelvic floor PT to protect pelvic floor from tearing. She is truly an expert with tons of experience. Highly recommended for all pregnant mamas!!

Jamie Lief was an incredible addition to my pregnancy support team and I’m so happy I was able to see her throughout my pregnancy as my pelvic floor therapist. I started seeing Jamie weekly starting around 18 weeks of pregnancy and she was able to give me customized exercises, massages and birth prep support specific to my physical needs that week. Her care went beyond just pelvic floor to make sure my whole body was working holistically so I was not in pain throughout my pregnancy, while also strengthening my core and supporting muscles. She was incredibly attune to my physical needs week by week and state of mind, tailoring my care to exactly what I needed that week. She also guided me through breathing exercises and perineal massage to help prepare for labor, pushing, and a positive birth experience. I recommend Jamie as a physical therapist for any pregnant person. It was such a pleasure to have this customized support for whatever I was going through that week, and overall contributed so much to being comfortable throughout my pregnancy and feeling empowered and prepared for birth. Thank you Jamie for helping me bring my baby girl into the world!!

Jamie gets all the credit for how great I felt throughout my pregnancy and for a smooth postpartum recovery. Not only does she really know her stuff, she is also fun to work with, encouraging and can put anyone at ease. She's top notch all around. And the Spear Chambers facility is quite nice.

Spear PT on Chambers is great. I had an overuse injury in shoulder. Daisy Lei identified the problem and got me on a path to healing. With the help of her and the great team @ Spear, my pain began abating within a week or two. Within a few months the pain was gone. I will need to continue doing exercises at home, but the shoulder problems that had been festering for years are gone. Thank you Spear!

I saw Jamie Lief for pelvic floor therapy for six months, and have been recently discharged. I went in to work on scar tissue and to strengthen my pelvic floor after hysterectomy. The moment I met Jamie I knew that I was in good hands -- Jamie's calling is to support and educate women on their bodies, for our most intimate parts. Besides being a delightful human being, Jamie is knowledgeable, compassionate and utterly professional. It was also easy to schedule with her -- we went from meeting once a week to every other week as the sessions progressed. I was totally sad when she said that I didn't need her anymore and she was going to discharge me! Jamie performed massage on my abdomen to loosen the scar tissue and tightness after surgery. She taught me to massage my bowel and the most effective way to poop! (Who knew there was a right way?) She also performed an internal assessment to determine pelvic floor strength. I was nervous about the assessment and Jamie assured me that it was completely optional, and we could do it whenever I was ready. When I finally opted for the assessment, it was totally casual and professional. We could have been chatting over coffee it was that relaxed! On the clinic floor, Jamie provided me with exercises to build my core, hips and pelvic floor. She gave clear instructions to make sure I held proper form. The space is open and well organized, very clean, with a fun atmosphere that is professional and well run. I actually got a little teary when I rang the bell and everyone clapped for my discharge. But I had been in such good hands with Jamie that I can take all I've learned and maintain my pelvic floor health at home. Besides, I just got diagnosed with a tear in my left knee so... I'll be back!
