There's no other place like this! My party of 5 was very simple and decided on a platter. All the meat we had was absolutely delicious and melted in my mouth. I don't even like meat and I enjoyed it here. I came from out of NYC and I find myself looking for some place like this back where I live, but it's not possible. This place is way way up there for me. Highly recommended. Everything was in great quality so it justified the price. Service was pretty good as well.

For starters, service was impeccable. Staff is efficient and friendly also on point. We ordered a ton of food. The stand out was the Vegan Bibimbap and the marinated chicken. Both full of flavor, seasoned just right, and perfectly cooked. I like how they cook your food fresh right in front of you. I also ordered the Frozen Strawberry Bomb. It was not a strong drink, but the strawberry flavor was very delicious. It is very pricey so be prepared. I would definitely come back here again.

Fun experience for those trying Korean BBQ for first or second time. The cook the food for you right in the table, it was tasty. Per reviews, I agree, get the beef platter and marinated chicken. They provide variety of condiments with the meal. Also, ask for rice, it’s extra and not on the menu. Servers and waiters are extremely busy. Don’t expect to have long chit chats with them, but they were friendly. Worthwhile restaurant to dine.

Jongro could be one of the famous Korean BBQ spot in NYC. Jongro is located on the second floor of a building at Koreatown NY. This restaurant is so spacious and lively with both of the people and grilling's noise 😄 As the usual Korean BBQ restaurant, they will serve us with variant of banchan (Korean side dishes), then for the BBQ, the staff will help us to cut and grill the meat. For the spices like the kimchi stew, I could say that the taste is light. This time, we chose beef. US beef is absolutely THE BEST because it's so tender and easy to chew! Recommended to have their US beef 🥰

For a great Korean BBQ experience in k-town, Jongro is the spot. This restaurant has tons of space for parties of all sizes, so for large groups. Went with party size of 8-16 and we were able to be accommodated. The food was great, definitely suggest ordering the beef meat platter which comes with an additional side of entrails or intestines and cheesy corn. The seafood pancake is also a must. Some meats do come marinated but don’t need get them since there will be sauces and other things. Tofu stew is also delicious, but it is on the spicier side if you can’t handle spice wouldn’t recommend. Drinks are worth a try and staff were super friendly and food orders moves quickly. Limited photos, was super hungry, and didn’t take as many photos!

Great food! We went as a group of five, and had a great experience. The chicken was well marinated, and the pork was cooked very well. Macaroni salad was a plus but slightly bummed there was no cheese corn. Pricing was not too terrible, around 30$ per person. Service was great! It was pretty cool (and convenient) to see them cooking and cutting the meat right in front of you. Would definitely come back again!

Good Korean BBQ place. They are on the second floor of a building so it is easy to miss. Especially recommend the large combo that contains 5 different beefs. It is enough for 3 people. Service is good too. I also like the environment here. You get enough space between the tables.

At first it was difficult knowing if we were in the right place. I didn’t see any signs anywhere just a big building unmarked it didn’t really look like a restaurant. Because I watched a YouTube review earlier I remembered there was an elevator so I decided to just walk In the building and see. That’s when I noticed a small desk and a lady asking me if I was there to eat. She then pointed to the elevator and told me which floor to get off at. When we went to that floor there was the restaurant. It was a very beautiful restaurant restaurant and I loved the decor and atmosphere. We were sat down by the window and I loved the view of the town. The waiters didn’t really talk to us at all. They just brought us out water and took our order. We didn’t have to wait long they got everything going in good timing. They cook everything at the table for you. They seemed so organized and knew exactly what was going on. The meat was absolutely delicious! And the sides were delicious. We Love this restaurant and even though the waiters didn’t talk much it didn’t bother us because they did their job and kept everything moving and allowed us to talk with our family more. I’d definitely return!!! We ordered the Large beef combination platter: Prime Ribeye, Beef Thin Skirt, Brisket, Marinated Kalbi, and side order of pork belly and dumplings.

Nice place, good soju - it was my first time to try - we ordered with apple - was sweet, but not too much. No prior reservation (we wait on Friday around half an hour) - but they have open bar on a 5th floor where you can wait. Music is too loud. And need more fresh air. Food is good - they cook for you.

Super tasty Korean BBQ. They don’t accept reservation so be there a bit early and prepare for a wait list. Shouldn’t be too bad as it’s located in the heart of Ktown. You will have plenty of things to do while waiting to get in. The food was awesome and the price was amazing. We ate like a pig and only spent ~$50 each. Highly recommend to get the meat combo and mushroom platter. The seafood pancake was also really good.

I'm going to start with, I'll be coming back! We came at 1030pm and the place was still packed but there was no wait. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We got the pork belly and marinated kalbi (a lot of places makes the marinade very sweet but not here!). Both were cooked to perfection (not over cooked) and the quality of both were worth the price. No complaints and will be planning to be back!

Paid $120 for 4 dishes ordered! Overall experience good. Service was nice. Portion was small for the price mentioned. But I guess people are ready to pay this much in the world’s posh city NEW YORK!!!! Forgot to mention this before! It’s a good place for pork and beef eaters!!!! Not many options for chicken eating or vegetarians!

We loved it! This was our first experience with Korean BBQ and it will not be our last, hopefully. My husband and I were on vacation just a few days ago in NYC and this was on his bucket list. Staff was so friendly and informative and ready to help newbies. Food was great! We had Pork. Thank you Jongro.

This was my first time trying Korean BBQ. It was great experience. The meat is very tasty and they wait to finish one round so they can prepare second. I would recommend trying this kind of BBQ because it totally different than regular restaurant experience.

This is one of my favorite restaurants EVER! The food is consistently amazing. This last time I went (I’ve been 5 times now), I told them about my gluten allergy and my waitress made me my own section of the table with gluten-free items. It was wonderful, and so delicious! I love it here and I’ll keep coming back. I usually order the beef platter, but this time we did the beef AND pork platter. 11/10.

I went to this place on a Thursday at 12:15pm. It's located on the 2nd floor. The building doesn't stand out so look for the building number. It wasn't crowded but a good amount of diners. We had the beef set for 2-3 people. A lot of sides which was great. The server grilled the meat for you and he did a good job. He waited for the grill to be hot and oiled it with some beef fat. All the meat was cooked well and tender. It came with an egg dish which was good. My only complaint is it comes with a soup. Meat serves 2-3 but they give you half a bowl of soup for 3 people. See pics for my serving of soup. The soup was nice and hot and spicy. I would go back to try other things

Jongro is the best! If you really want to impress your out of town friends bring them here. The wait can be long but it is really worth it. We had kalbi, pork belly, beef thin skirt. All of the meat is high quality and deliciously cooked to perfection. The marinated style is most popular but I recommend trying the meats without it so you can really appreciate the flavor. We also ordered soft tofu stew and spicy rice cake which were also delicious. I have been here so many times and I will keep coming back!

Set up like a retro 40-50s Korean street food restaurant, Jongro BBQ offers a delicious range of authentic Korean food at decent prices. The servers cook the meats to perfection. Bearable wait times. Should be nostalgic for Koreans with the 90s playlist.

One of THE best meals I’ve had since moving to NYC. The food was absolutely phenomenal! The only thing we didn’t really like were the frozen drinks as they were way too sweet. But everything else was amazing. Definitely a great place to take friends/family who are in town for a visit! Will definitely be returning soon!

What a fun experience and ambiance. It's located on the second floor and set up to look like you're walking through the streets. We ordered the marinated beef platter with veg dumplings with an additional platter of Kalbi beef for the 4 of us (3 hungry girls and 1 hungry guy). It turned out to be enough food but if there are more males in your group then you would def need more food. They cook it for you so the meat is perfect. Really enjoyed the experience. Service was great and would highly recommend.

We were in the area at lunchtime & decided to find a Korean restaurant. We found Jongro BBQ and were very happy we did! When the elevator opened at 2nd floor, we immediately were transported to a “Korean food camp” sort of layout. The aroma was a telltale of great flavors yet to be enjoyed! They were very helpful & seeing that we did not immediately start grilling meat at our table, the server came over & placed some beef on the grill, cooking quickly! The cooked meat tasted so delicious being off the fire for mere seconds! This is the way to enjoy Korean grilled meats! Next time, we’ll come with more people & more time to enjoy the ambiance & fantastic flavors! Vote Jongro BBQ for the WIN!!!

Lunch was delicious! Service was awesome from the temperature check at the door, to getting our table, and to the food. It was a bit pricey but I'm assuming that's pretty fair rate in new york actually. Really loved the kimchi jeon, cold noodles, and brisket for a first meal in the city! Highly recommended.

Holy KBBQ, I’m so glad we ate here! The food is absolutely phenomenal. Will definitely come again next time I’m in K town. It’s very popular so plan ahead especially during peak hours. We came here later in the evening on a weekend and were seated pretty quickly. You get a lot of food included when you order a BBQ meat main. The boiled egg is very light and fluffy, the sides are good, there’s an abundance of difference sauces, and the pancake was delicious. Very crunchy and savory. We didn’t have room for all the food with just the two of us, having ordered one steak and one pancake. Meat was fresh and very tender, they came around and cooked it for you. Definitely stop by and treat yourself!

Is for me top 3 in nyc for a delicious Korean BBQ. It’s best to come with minimum 3 people so you can taste different things and not be stuffed. Staff is fast and alert and I always have great service. One of my favorites for sure. Second floor is the original location. Not a good spot for a romantic dinner because it is loud and fast paced. You come here for the food!

Best Korean food we have ever had in the United States, waiting line is long but services are great, staffs will help you with your meat, so you don’t even bother. Seafood pancake, mango bomb alcohol, every dishes are great and authentic! 100% recommended!

My favorite barbecue place in NYC! I would call it the ceiling for value for money in barbecue! The kimchi soup, troop pots, side dishes and dumplings outside of the barbecue were all very authentic and delicious. The service was warm and professional. I really can't think of any cons.

Loved it. One of the best Korean restaurants I’ve ever been to. Everything, including meat and vegetables, were top quality and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and nice location. Totally recommend.

Went here on a Wednesday night and was quite busy but there’s multiple floors and lots of seating so had no trouble getting a table. We sat on 5th floor which was less busy than the 2nd. Would be great for groups and large parties. We got pork cheek and seafood soft tofu stew. Loved my stew. The pork needed soup or something to be dipped in for more flavor but outside of that it was good. Loved that they cook it for you. Loved the side dishes, especially the spring onion, egg soufflé, and the chayote. The two of us also shared a bottle of makegeolli rice wine which was only $14 and we had enough to take home. Overall came up to about $35 per person. Would come back again!

Cool place to go for dinner with friends. Food is great with fun and energetic background music. I love Lychee Soju. Sweet and wonderful flavor. It went well with the meal.

Walking into Jongro was like walking back into Korea. The atmosphere was perfect. The service staff was always close by if you needed anything or had questions. The kimchi was perfect. 10 out of 10 would recommend going here.

Sooooo gooood!!! Little bit of a secret spot but it just adds to the experience. The staff is awesome and so is the food! Top quality meat and sides! Staff was on top of everything never had to wait on anything. Also very friendly!!! 10 out of 10 do recommend!

Better than any Korean BBQ place we have in Dallas... and we have some pretty good ones. The Kim Chi was the best I've ever had.

My favorite Korean place in NYC! Their bibimbap is awesome and so is their BBQ. Love the drinks as well. We also went during COVID and they didn’t have their regular menu especially the bibimbap and bbq, my two favorite things but the food was still really good. They are now back with their regular menu which is great!

Amazing venue, as soon as you walk in you know you're gonna get some top notch food and treatment, and it didn't disappoint. We ordered pork belly and beef tenderloin and the staff helped us cook it, getting the right temperature for the meats. While they were lacking Banchan (we only got kim chi and mac salad) the experience and taste were so overwhelmingly good.

  • 5/5 Shabnam A. 2 years ago on Google
Very fun atmosphere and experience! The food was delicious. My husband and I shared the beef sampler plate and it was more then enough to fill up two people. Service was good and speedy. Would definitely recommend if you are willing to spend a little more on dinner for the night! We went on a Wednesday night and had to wait 50 mins for a table but it was definitely worth it.

  • 4/5 Sameet S. 5 months ago on Google
Solid kbbq spot. We got the large beef plate, large marinated beef plate and 3 appetizers for 7 people. It was a lot of food but we finished everything. My favorites were the normal beef plate, the seafood pancake, and the rice cakes. The marinated beef plate had way less tender meats. I preferred the thinner meat cuts more. Overall though I expected something a bit higher quality for the price and for the reputation.

  • 5/5 cristina m. 2 years ago on Google
This is probably one of my favorite spots in the city!! I can’t recommend this place highly enough!! If I could I would give it 10 stars! The was quite a long line outside and we’ve been told it was going to take 10-20 minutes. However we were in in less than 5. The whole experience is something different and unique! The food is authentic and made with great quality ingredients and lots of care! Excellent service!! They follow the CDC guidelines too! The price is also great! There’s no doubt we will come back!

We tried both beef and pork, and pork here is not too great, the pig belly is pretty dry. However, the marinated beef is good and juicy. I would recommend beef over pork here. Banchan are free, including the steamed egg, which is really good

  • 5/5 Eric F. 2 years ago on Google
Weekday lunch indoors on the 2nd floor. Had the beef short rib + spicy tofu soup combo. Immediately served banchan and asked if I wanted more when I finished it. Short rib had the delicious marinated flavor I was looking for. Happy I had a large container of water to myself. Only criticism might be it didn't seem to be a the highest cut meat, but given how tasty it was, the service, and $17 - - no real complaints.

  • 5/5 Trevor C. 2 years ago on Google
Best kbbq in NYC! Compared to other places, I feel like you actually get a good amount of food for the price. The marinated Galbi was also not too sweet unlike a certain famous 4 $ sign place in the city :)

  • 5/5 Tiffany C. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely a cool experience. They are on the second floor of the building. When I went they had us temp check and then we were seated. The staff was speedy and attentive. They did all the cooking for us at the table rather than do-it-yourself. There were so many different sides available that comes with the meal. My favorite was the macaroni salad. We ordered the seafood pancake and the pork belly and beef. Definitely plan to come back soon.

  • 4/5 Magnus M. 1 year ago on Google
Overall was a great place to check out. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the vibe and of course the food. This place is always packed, so be sure to get there a little earlier than planned. I had the marinated beef platter and ordered a couple of soups and marinated chicken. The servers are always paying attention to your table to ensure that they cook the meats properly. I highly recommend this place to have a good hearty meal in a fun atmosphere.
