A wonderful place to grab a reservation for a drink and a bite in Grand Central with a dark, romantic, old school vibe. The menu prices reflect the location. I really enjoyed the Picante Conde. We asked for the cheese plate to be meat free and got a cheese plate with a huge amount of one type of cheese. Overall, it's a fun spot to check out but mostly for the location.

Very classy and historical bar close to the Grand Central station. Nice vibes, good service. The cocktails are NY price; I expected very complex, well presented and tasty cocktails. Sad to say they were quite disappointing. Tried a large amount of cocktails (3 rounds w/ 5 ppl) and very few of them were good. If you’re looking for elaborated drinks, this place is more for the old classics.

The Campbell is a fancy cocktail bar located in Grand Central Station. The entrance is a little hard to find - in Vanderbilt Ave, look for the sign pretty much opposite 1 Vanderbilt. Once inside the building, you walk up the stairs to check in and get escorted to your table. It‘s the former office of a 1920s mogul, with high ceilings and ornate 1920s decor. While the venue is beautiful, we were a little disappointed by the bar itself. On a busy night, it is packed with people and so loud that having a conversation is almost impossible. Also, we found the drinks to be nothing special, just your usual standard cocktails. Service was a pleasant surprise to us - we had booked a table for Wednesday, but were told upon arrival that due to a private event taking longer than expected, we were unable to get inside. We were offered to rebook our reservation, which we did. When we arrived way ahead of our reservation time, staff went out of their way to get us a table without any waiting time, which was greatly appreciated. Even more so, when we asked for the bill, we were told that we should consider ourselves invited as an apology for having messed up our original reservation. Kudos to the service team!

Stunner of a bar with perfect location to grab a cocktail before hopping on a train. The high-ceiling, low light space is downright beautiful and the staff are prompt and professional. Drinks are certainly pricey but they’re spectacular. Really enjoyed their Peachy Keen cocktail and espresso martini. And if you’re hitting Amtrak or metro north, consider using their lovely aromatic bathroom before entering the train station.

Magnificent bar conveniently located in the heart of midtown manhattan at Grand Central. Bar bites were tasty and the service behind the bar was good. Ambiance is great with high ceilings and business professionals always present.

GORGEOUS 🤩! If you’re a lover of live jazz, romantic settings, and well made drinks, then you need to pop by. It’s a little difficult for most people to find since it’s located in the terminal, but it’s worth the small hassle. The ambience gives you sophisticated and classy, and it’s perfect to unwind with some drinks. Definitely recommend.

The Campbell is the quintessential speak-easy bar tucked away in a quiet corner of Grand Central Station. In fact, I have walked by the entrance countless times without realizing it was there. This is a place you go for the atmosphere over all other considerations. It is genuinely unique and interesting. The drinks are solid, but I did take a point off for their very expensive prices. The food choices are very basic and the menu is, honestly, a bit strange…. From olives to mini lobster rolls to chocolate chip cookies… huh? It is a small place, and it can get crowded, so best to make a reservation. It’s not an ‘everyday’ bar, but it’s worth checking out for the history.

It is a much different vibe at the Campbell today than what it used to be like years ago. The bar used to be darker and more secretive. Nonetheless, it is still a cool spot to show off to your out-of-town friends or even locals. But that was about it; we ordered three different drinks off the menu, and all were just meh. It was pricey, too, for how underwhelming the drinks were. With so many better options in midtown, I would categorize this place for the ambiance only. The overall service was decent.

The interior of the place is incredibly inviting, with a cozy and fabulous atmosphere that transports you to another world filled with modern people. I enjoyed observing the bartenders skillfully prepare drinks, which was quite entertaining. The New York attitude was definitely present. I do have to mentioned that the waitress and hostess were both charming and delightful. I ordered the vesper cocktail, which was refreshingly clean and crisp, in other words, absolutely delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed with the mini lobster roll as it was overly salty and not the best I've had. I would recommend sticking to the charcuterie or olives instead. I would definitely come back for a drink!

What an amazing experience coming in here. Best to book if you are a larger party, however you can usually sidle up to the bar if you are solo. Go for the classics here, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Negroni etc and you will not be disappointed. Hidden in plain sight, don't share with too many other people.

We walked in on Saturday night around 9pm, after 10-15 min waiting at a bar 2 chairs freed up, it was not super busy i would say. A very enjoyable, dark, mysterious and date-night appropriate place, the live jazz band was a great touch. The cocktails were delicious and strong.

Very good cocktail 🍸 bar! We were party of 4 and we were limited to 1hr and 30min. Which I think is not enough time, especially people come and spend decent $, let them enjoy. But nyc changed with covid and they started enforcement of time slots and just kept it. Still 5 starts overall!:) very good cocktails and jazz music 🎷!

Just loved the venue, beautiful bar. Cocktails were great, waitresses/hostesses were very smiley and welcoming. Will definitely come back next time I’m in NYC, this bar has become a personal favourite of mine.

Isn’t speakeasy, but really hidden and real gem bar. One the best wine I tried here, intimate atmosphere with great visual interior support. Ideal for a date, serving food till 23:30

Unique cocktail bar in Grand Central! Friendly and attentive service, great drinks and the vibe is neat (dark and sexy). The space is small so it does get crowded. I recommend arriving when the bar opens or reserving a table, you can also stand at the bar.

More than perfect, describes it best! Our expectations for the former Speak-Easy Bar were more than exceeded! The Campbell Bar combines elegance, charm, history, and excellent service at the highest level. Our deepest gratitude goes to bartender Justin, who could anticipate our every desire and visibly delighted us on each of the four evenings we were there! He is the one who defines the excellent service! Fred embodies the elegant charm and welcoming atmosphere as a person! What impressed us the most, besides the amazing cocktails, was that Fred and Justin genuinely took care of us. On the first night, when one of the guests seemed suspicious, Fred and Justin pointed it out to us, making us, as young ladies in an initially unfamiliar bar, feel truly secure! First stop as soon as we're back in town! Thank you so much for everything!

This was one of the best places I went to all my trip to New York recently. Amazing selection of over 3,000 types of whiskey were available. The menu was full of amazing food so highly recommend you go there with an empty stomach. There was live jazz to keep us entertained and the atmosphere was very nice and cozy. If you are into whiskey at all, you should know about this place and if you haven't gone, you're about to get blown away.

Had the privilege of finding and visiting this hidden gem of New York. Far from ordinary, the atmosphere was very welcoming. The host, especially accommodating and our lovely waitress eager to please and happy to help. I can't think of her name but she was fantastic! Great place to visit, especially when you want to feel like you know something exist that not many others do!

Visited NYC for our anniversary. This was the best place we have visited so far. Waitstaff was professional and friendly. Atmosphere was perfect and music level wasn’t overwhelming. Food and drinks were amazing. They even treated us because it was our anniversary. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Photos don’t do this place justice. Beautiful bar and lounge with a dark but warm atmosphere. Stopped in on a Monday after work and it was busy but still with space at the bar and a couple of tables open. I highly recommend stopping in and having a drink if you’re passing by Grand Central, however be prepared to pay $20 for a cocktail. Though I will say I had an Old Fashioned and it was worth the price.

Cool vibe but wouldn't go back if you paid me. $100 minimum per person. Ok, that's easy, right? Not if it takes 45 minutes to get another drink. The Manhattan was awful; I can still taste the bitters the next day. There are only 2 single use bathrooms for the entire bar.

Gorgeous space and beautiful cocktails. Recommend reservations to get a table. We went in late afternoon after hiking around NYC as tourist and didn't feel 100% welcome. The Cambell is a part of history and worth at least a quick peak.

TOP (and for us) Hidden BAR at Grand Central Station. You need to search a little bit for the entrance but when youre in you will be suprised. Verry traditional an cool BAR in Vintage Design its inside darker as shown in my Pictures. Drinks was in upper Class (25$/Cocktail) but believe me you should visit, enjoy the atmosphere an have a perfect Cocktail/Drink verry much appreciated.

Beautiful room & very friendly staff. The prices seemed high, but everything in nyc seems high to Midwesterners. 😁 Make a reservation if you want a table during happy hour.

Such a cool place to grab a drink. It used to be a railroad magnate's office in Grand Central Station. If you can't book a table online, try walking up. Also, the ceiling is amazing!

It's a really busy bar because of it's name and location. There was a 45 minute to get a table. However, I feel it's worth coming here to enjoy one of their signature cocktails in a timeless setting more than anything else. Overall, it's a New York staple worth going at least once if you're in the area

Need reservations for tables. Bar is standing room only. Space is breathtaking. The inlay in the ceiling is gorgeous. Gets a bit loud, but not bad because of the high ceilings. Drinks are pricey but they come with great atmosphere. Service was wonderful.

My favorite place to take people who are visiting NYC! Kinda hard to find, but that makes it all the more interesting—just look for the plaque outside that says “Campbell Apartments”, go in and go up the stairs to your right. You have to try the Grand Central cocktail, it’s a Prosecco and vodka drink that is one of the most refreshing and delicious drinks I’ve ever had.

Great, somewhat hidden bar in Grand Central Terminal. Designed to look like an old castle. Good vibe and atmosphere. Mixologists are great. I'd give it 5 stars except we had to wait a while to get served.

It’s delightful to see the Campbell come back in all its glory. This is truly a NY classic tucked upstairs in Grand Central. Stylish and classy without being pretentious and with an impressive cocktail list of the true and tested as well as some house originals. While they do have an outdoors now under the arches (in this Covid world), head to the OG inside for the full experience

  • 4/5 Beatriz A. 1 year ago on Google
Slightly expensive (cocktails are $20+) but the staff is amazing, the ambiance is unique and the live music on Saturday night was so good! The drinks were also delicious. Highly recommend the lychee martini.

  • 4/5 Mamamalkah A. 2 years ago on Google
Our waitress (Arielle?) was lovely and happy to recommend great suggestions to celebrate. Of course the atmosphere is unique and the adherence to COVID rules very strict. Only peeve that at $20-25 per drink I would’ve appreciated complimentary olives/nuts/something. Acoustics are terrible : needed to speak quite loud to be heard by companions at my table and the music was super modern whereas I would’ve preferred a selection in sync with the furnishings and history of this former office/party pad of yore.

You would think that the highlights in New York should be the sights... During our stay, it was the Campbell Bar. Apart from the incredible cocktails, the bartender Justin was simply the best in the whole bar! Someone who must also be mentioned is Fred, he has contributed significantly to our well-being! Thank you for everything! Everyone was so welcoming, we got surprise cocktails & on top of that local tips for restaurants to visit! We were in New York for 7 days, 4 of which we spent our evenings at the Campbell, once we were even there twice! (As you can see, we were thrilled) A big thank you to the whole team for giving us an unforgettable stay! We will definitely see you next year!
