A little 4 mile walk around Sherwood Forest Parking is £4 all day or free if you are a member of RSPB. There is a little fun fare just outside the car park i didn't see much cleaning between customs on the ride (but not to say it wasn't happening just didn't see) Short walk from the car park towards the visitors centre face masks worn in the visitors centre no maps can be given out. Just follow the colour coded signage to select which route you wanna walk the furthest is 4 miles. Benches in woods and by the Mighty Oak which is between 800 - 1100 yrs old and is prompt on the branches for support as its hollow inside due to fungus growing. Overall great walks great for dogs which can be off lead in certain areas but most were on leads Look for Robin Hood hiding in the woods Recommend for a half day out and something for the children to get back to nature.

Plenty of nice long walks to be had. Childrens play area and a visitor centre. They even have the odd joke dotted around the place.

It's a fantastic place to visit, if you pick a nice and sunny day, you can easily spend a whole day there (till closing time for sure) i strongly recommend to visit it especially if you have kids/dogs or dinosaurs maybe... There is also a visitors centre with public toilets and is also possible to buy food there if you would get hungry from the long walks! Enyoy the nature people! Good luck!

Great morning walk with all the family. A good playground and the facilities are clean, car parking is £5 but entry is free. Plenty of picnic tables & benches along the woodland foot path. Looking forward to going again in a few months 🌞

We did the oak walk with the kids, took 45 minutes, and was beautiful. Lovely views, and interesting information about the area on notices all the way around. And a great play area with picnic area. In fact, lots of picnic areas all the way around the walk. Can't wait to come back and try all of the other walks available.

A good place to go for a walk with the family, there is a park for the children next to the new visitors centre. There is disability parking next to the visitor centre, and parkimg across the road costing £5 for the day at the time of writing this review.

Ample parking, £4 for the day. Including a car park exclusively for disabled / Blue badge holders right at the new Visitor Centre. Visitor centre has a souvenir shop with plenty of space to manoeuvre. Roomy Lift to cafe and toilets downstairs. Cafe serves Veggie and Vegan options too. 3 disabled access toilets, including one full wet room with hoist facility. All the staff were great! - welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rough Forest-track from the Visitor centre to Major Oak. Initially STEEP (!) & bumpy, would be a challenge for manual wheelchair users, but my robust mob scooter managed OK. (I hear there is a slightly longer, less steep route, but I didn't explore that way). Then gradient levels out and is a pleasant, well-signed route through ancient woodland. A great day out.

A stunning moderate walk to relive the magical history of Sherwood and recall legends of old. To feel the humble awe & power standing in view of the presence of the ancient thousand year old Major Oak tree is an indescribable majestic privilege. The forest itself has such a beautiful peaceful beauty, even if you are not lucky enough to visit away from the usual hustle of busy times, the blanket of serene energy is well worth the visit. Unfortunately, I did find the slight incline (4/500 yards) challenging pushing a wheelchair over such bumpy ground, and we certainly wouldn't have made it to the main attraction without the helpful assistance of a strong volunteer. This was contrary to what I had read in numerous guides and remembered from previous walks from the old car park (now closed), which is definitely a much flatter pathway and half the distance to reach the Major Oak, so not particularly easy for anyone with mobility issues. Personally, I feel the old carpark should be considered to reopen to offer disabled users a more convenient shorter & safer route, as this pathway also had less embedded logs, which can also hinder the route especially for wheelchairs. ♿ Nethertheless a really wonderfully calming experience for families and four legged friends to enjoy and appreciate the wonder of so many ancient trees and nature’s natural beauty.

Enjoy walking around Sherwood forest, past the Major Oak, our dog Dee enjoys playing ball outside the visitors centre. Always a good walk, cafe serves a good variety of drinks and food to eat in or out.

Sherwood Forest is my local place to walk or cycle. Its a beautiful forest. You can stick with the crowds. Or go onto the depths of the forest on the busiest of days and still you can find some time to be alone.

Amazing place to visit, great walks & excellent for learning about the area. Lovely shops and a wonderful experience for kids looking to follow in the footsteps of Robin Hood. 👍😃🌲🌳

Beautiful walk that was wheelchair accessible. The staff advised us to take the oak trail as that was the most accessible for me. It is an all natural path with some slopes and bumpy parts so take that into consideration if you are a manual user.

There's an opportunity for a nice hike if you're into that. The place is pretty modern, but I think that the people here should do a lot more to capitalize on the legend. This place could be a lot more popular, but now it seems like a pretty slow and chill place.

A beautiful walk in the woods with a playground for the children. Parking can be payed by card and goes to the rspb so I don't mind. There's a lovely craft centre to look round as a bonus.

Lovely day out, staff are so friendly and helpful. The walk around the area is so beautiful and everything is kept so tidy regardless of how busy the place is.

Unfortunately didn't get to enough time there to fully explore the forest. However, the visitor centre was very high quality and the staff were very polite and helpful. The forest was well sign posted indicating which walking route clearly. The factual sign was clear and well maintained the historical information was informative and interesting. Seasonal signs provided information on flora and fauna plus local folklore. Good play park for the kids too.
