First of all the security booths are a joke. There’s no security at all. All they do is press a button TO ANYONE so they can enter, packages get stolen, there’s a million mice, a million roaches, and today marks almost 2 weeks that there’s no hot water. Yes while it’s true is a good place to save money to invest in a property far far away from this place, the negligence and rude, not-caring IDGAF mind of management, makes this place the next American horror story.

Lived here for a year back in 2015/2016. Rent was extremely reasonable for Jersey, less than $1k for a one bedroom including heat and electric! Yes it's not in the greatest area and they aren't luxury apartments, it's an old complex on the edge of Newark. But if you're looking for a place to live temporarily, I was very pleased with the management. Any issue I had was addressed immediately, and I got most of my deposit back when I left. My only real complaint was when they plowed my car in my parking space and I couldn't get out. It's not perfect but it's a lot better than what you'd get elsewhere for the cost.

After receipt of payment, the landlord has three days to ask the court to dismiss the tenant’s case with prejudice. I never received a judgment for possession because all court fees and rent were paid but the cases were never dismissed causing me a dilemma I’ve moved from Ivy Hill and have had the most horrifying experience dealing with the Management and the underhanded practices. Yes I was given a letter twice saying they’d file for a judgment against me for non payment of the rent. Each time I paid for the rent, court cost and late fees. I paid Ivy Hill Park Apartments every dime each time. Now here it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve moved out after living there mind you for 5 years. (How could I been evicted) they even charged me a months rent that I wasn’t even living there anymore because they say they received the keys 3 weeks after my move out date. Now here I am trying to secure an apartment in another state and cannot because they never informed the courts that they accepted all payments prior to either the court date or on the court date to dismiss their proceedings going forward as they had received all monies owed… even reaching out for months without getting my rental records rectified… It’s been a difficult process trying to secure a new place.. Please if this happens get it writing, as they will proceed to ding your rental history as if you never paid. Granted they did offer a sparse letter stating they received payment, and all questions regarding me could be directed to them, but to no avail it’s not acceptable and I’ve repeatedly asked for a removal from them for my rental history 🙁😣If anyone has been through this with them, please let me know how it worked out and what had to be done. Thanks I've been here 3 yrs now and I have to update this review. Of course there are still mice, water bugs. But I've come to realize that this is mainly due, to the tenants who don't discard of their garbage properly. Overall besides being reasonably priced, it is relatively a safe place to live. There's minimal people hanging out and around the complex. There is an active police presence, and station very close by. The super and custodians do their best to keep the property in good shape. The elevators go down often, but then again in my opinion it is again the fault of the tenants or their children. Not a bad place to start as a first apartment or trying to get on your feet. Didn’t get my security deposit back either even though I left the apartment in pristine condition.

The problem is NOT the management, is the maintenance , the super, the other people the super have in his team to make this place horrible for anyone to leave in. They make the place look horrible and difficult, I saw many times they damage the elevator, make the place look durty so no one will like it . they have there raison which is discrimination... The management need to changed the super to different area or make sure the office check time on time randomly the buildings. Because people get comfortable and started doing bad stuff.

Workers are friendly. Security is there for no reason.roaches,mice,neighbors who are literally snoopdog,neighbors who definitely make a living off having the dirty tango VERY LOUDLY,smelly hallways,piss in the stairs,mice eat your food,broken old elevators,fire alarm would go off almost every week making everyone have to evacuate,heater gets too hot and bad parking.

The rent is great but the parking is terrible. They need to pave it is holes everywhere. The people in the office is unprofessional. The handyman that works in my building is very professional. It should only be a steppingstone not a permanent situation here.

Proximity to the Ivy hills park, the market and a pharmacy. If you're are multicultural vibes ( Asia, Africa, Middle East,and Eastern European) that is good fit otherwise it's unfortunate.i find the park quite pleasant.

It looks very beautiful from the outside it is also very quiet it has a security booth located on the outside of the building

This a trash of a place to live at the security is useless all they dose is press the buzzer for the door to let any and everyone in your building and also the security they have watching your vehicle in the parking lot which you paying ever month …just sitting the boot watching his/her phone or sleeping not to mention the insects rats like omg
