Went for a birthday brunch. This is the second time that I’ve gotten bottomless mimosas here, and they basically force you to leave. The limit is 90 minutes to get your drinks. After about an hour of drinking, the waitress brings our check. That’s fine, but she doesn’t bring any more drinks despite our glasses being empty. So, I ask for more and she agrees. Then, we over hear what I assume to be the manager ask the waitress, how long have they been here? Sir, your restaurant was empty and we were giving u over $200 in business, so calm down. Also, I had set a timer when I sat down because I KNEW they would try something like this again. It’s the same manager each time. If you don’t want college students to enjoy bottomless drinks, don’t offer it! And how about you stop serving underage kids too:) not coming back to this below average place

I love this place. They were very friendly. The food and Gelato were excellent. I love the way the restaurant was decorated and there are many private dining areas.

They have changed the recipe for the dipping sauce of the calamari, it was very watery and bland. Other than that, all the rest of the food were pretty good, especially the Brussels sprouts.

Caffe Gelato catered a few work events I attended and has never disappointed. I decided to drive out of state to enjoy a special event they had last night. Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Dinner. OMG ! Am I glad I did. It was 7 delicious courses paired with out of this world bourbon 🥃. The restaurant was totally full for this popular sold out event. However the service was still outstanding. The food was incredible. Nice job Caffe Gelato. We will be back. I highly recommend Caffe Gelato for your catering needs and in restaurant dining.

Cafe Gelato is one of the best restaurants in Delaware. The menu includes something for everyone. The food is very well prepared and delicious. The service and atmosphere are great for a special event lunch or everyday dining. The gelato is a real treat. Be sure to visit if you get the opportunity.

The food was absolutely incredible. We decided to stop by on a whim and I’m so glad we did! It was a little crowded but it was a weekend night so that’s to be expected. The ambiance was very romantic. Our waitress was very attentive and the food was out of this world!

We were disappointed at first. Service was less than stellar (wrong food served to one of us and wrong price on the check when we got it). However, the owner of the restaurant came to our table to apologize and explain. The situation was handled extremely well and professionally. Food was excellent. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish. We will definitely be back, because of the quality of the food, as well as the kindness of the owner. Thank you, Ryan German!

Food was delicious. I had the salmon and it was perfect. Edit: another great meal. Really love this place. Lots of outdoor seating. I love that you cam reserve online.

Cafe Gelato is a phenomenal place to eat. Whether I’m with friends or family, young or old they have something for everyones taste. They have a vast selection of wine for those who would like to just stop by and have a drink or if you’re there for a special occasion. The staff here are amazing and their hard work shows in the efforts that are put in to the wonderful taste of the food as well as the beautiful ambience of the restaurant. And not only is the restaurant wonderful but when they cater events they truly outdo themselves. This is a kind of place where people truly care about the service they provide.

Went here when it was graduation night at the local university. Expected it to be busy but not too bad. Was a little disappointed that the menu was cut down with every pasta dish in a cream sauce. Could have been more variety. Food was excellent but the reason for 4 stars was that one of the wait staff at the end of his shift decided to change out of his shirt in the restaurant next to our table.

Visited Cafe Gelato for our 4 year wedding anniversary and everything was absolutely wonderful. Atmosphere was quiet and low-key, wait staff was very friendly and kind, and food was absolutely delicious. By luck, our dinner landed on a Tuesday, which was 1/2 bottle of wine night. We enjoyed a fantastic rose, crab pasta, rack of lamb, and quiet honestly the best desert I've had in years. Highly recommend the Raspberry Torte ❤️ Will definitely be back for brunch one day soon!

First time dining at Caffe Gelato. We arrived at 4:00 for dinner. Only one other table was seated (from our seated perspective). Our waitress was charming and the atmosphere lovely. Our appetizer arrived quickly and was perfectly delicious. Then - nothing. We waited another 45 minutes but were not served our dinner. Our waitress twice told us, "a few more minutes," but the food never came. We requested our check, paid, apologized to our server (it's hard when you lose a table!), and we left. I'm sure the food would have been delicious, but we ran out of time. It left us wondering, "if the kitchen is this slow getting out food during non busy hours, what must it be like when it gets busy?" The excuse was that they were catering an event and had another event simultaneously. Perhaps they should have closed the restaurant and bar if they couldn't handle the traffic.

The atmosphere was beautiful. We were seated promptly but we had no server. Tables who came after us were cared for. A server noticed this and volunteered to serve us. He was very friendly, and professional. The food quality was very good but very lightly seasoned. I was happy however that the food was NOT over-salted. Overall a good experience. I will go back.

New to the area, stopped by for dinner with my wife at a recommendation from friends. The service was good. Had the octopus as a starter which was different for us, and somewhat unexpectedly good. Steak and pasta for dinner were both also good. Beer selection could be a little broader, but I found something I liked. Wine list is amazing, but we didn't get a bottle on this trip. Overall great experience - highly recommend.

Excellent ribeye! Excellent sides (fries & asparagus). Would order again. Service was good. Seems they hire lots of college students from UofD so some are more or less experienced. Had a wonderful dinner and bottle of wine recommendation from bartender. Look forward to going back 🥂.

Reserved dinner for 2 online (very easy), seated right away, staff not very friendly, nice Restaurant with candle lit on table, need to wipe seats after each guest, caesar salad had big leaves, crab and shrimp capellini was ok nothing exciting, didn't really taste crab meat in the pasta, didn't appreciate waiter stephen lying to me. Asked about bread and he stated bus boy forgot to get to us, then we look over and another guest comes in and orders food and waiter brings out bread immediate after ordering, we had to keep asking for things such as refills, bread. I was still eating and he asked if I needed a take out box without asking if we wanted desert. I felt like I was being rushed. I didn't like the gelato. Tasted watery. Don't feel like I would be back.

Not only was all the food tremendous and beautifully displayed but the professionalism, courtesy, talent and overall niceness of the staff to us and our guests made this event so much more amazing. Had an excellent meal here. Was a busy mid week night so they were short staffed with a large party.

Place looks very nice inside.. First time here... got the classico pizza from their Wood fire oven.. its great.. good amount of cheese along with nice, soft and crispy crust... fantastic place... they also service cocktails and other beverages along with ice cream..
