I don't know about anyone eslse.. but this food and the ppl were sooo great! Can't ever use the words "tasteless" or no "flavor". Granted everyone may not be as adventurous with their taste buds, but this was My first time having West African food outside of what my husband and his family serves. It was sooooooo good! It had color flavor and ample servings. The Joloff rice was 🔥... I had that with chicken and the baked lamb. If you are in Newark, NJ and looking for a belly full with quick service stop on in. You won't regret it!

The only reason I’m giving 1 star is due to the neatness. The food is horrible. If you want a proper food, this definitely not it. Absolute waste of money!

Drove all the way over here. Ask the lady what was what because I am new and I wanted to try something different and she had a WHOLE NASTY RUDE ATTITUDE!!! It’s okay though safe to say I’ll never spend my money here. I came to the wrong restaurant anyways and still was willing to try their food. I really dislike coming to establishments where the customers get treated rudely yet it’s their money that keeps the business afloat. Customer service is trash period !

Came here for lunch with a friend of mine during the work week. I ordered the attieke with lamb and my friend ordered the jollof rice with chicken. The food was amazing. They are generous in their portions. We dined in and they bring the food to you at the table. Very friendly. I highly recommend as they have so many options. I like that they have food prepared as my lunch time isn't long enough. I will definitely be going there again..

The Egushi & Suya was very flavorful. I ordered online and it was ready very fast. The egushi(18$) was very watery compared to a Nigerian place I went. The lamb suya(16$) was ok but tough maybe its because I went at 7pm. I did enjoy the food though and will be back again to try other items from the steam table . The young lady at the front counter was nice to me as a new comer , Non- african . ❤️

The worst service!! Why I say this is because I ordered 3 weeks ago peanutbutter soup and pounded yam. For one it wasn't peanut butter soup it more like light soup and the biggest issue!! There was metal sharp.metal in my soup.!! I called and they said they would fix it and never did so!! I've called them. The man asked my my name etc... and said he would personal fix it for me and I've been waiting 3 weeks for the fix it never happened!! Very disappointed I really love african food and from .y hometown to be treated as such is wrong especially after spending my money

Best African food in NJ. The sauces are so tasty. The plantains foufou with light sauce are the best. Try this one and you’ll never forget my words. Ona love African food and big respect to the chef of A Jaaraama.

Never again first the chicken and rice combo they charged me $19 the rice was mushy and the chicken was over cooked and extremely hard and dried. It tasted as though the chicken was bad when I called to complain they said that they use hard chicken, not the soft one. I don’t understand what that means. Anyway, I won’t be back I don’t recommend it. Stay away my stomach still hurts from the two bites I took

I stared ordering from here last summer. They were nice and friendly people and my husband and I continued going almost every week since then. However we noticed their prices begin to go up and assumed it was a yearly increase BUT after taking a break and returning after a few weeks we noticed their prices go up again. A month goes by and my husband goes back again and their price is lower $16.16 per plate- GREAT- but 2 weeks later he goes back and they try to charge him $19.19 for the same plate... He asks them why the price went up since the last time he went and they said "no they didn't it's a different type of soup now"... .. it was the same soup we've been ordering all summer. They are rip offs, overly greedy, and unfair towards their (once loyal) costumers. Pay attention everyone! so that they don't try and steal or take advantage of you too.

The food is amazing but one of the female workers have a very nasty attitude everytime I call to ask questions. The owner is always apologizing for her when she shouldn't have too.

The food is good but the prices are a disaster every time i went i got a different price its madness and annoying and when i go to other African restaurants they give more and charge less so be careful don’t be fooled!! And sometimes the stew be out for too long the last 2 times i went the meat was too hard!!

If you are new to trying African food this is not the place to go. They don’t tell you exactly what they are giving (and if you don’t already know what the foods are, make you feel bad for not knowing.) I asked for egusi soup (not knowing there were different kinds because I’ve always received the same kind despite the location) Instead I was served pumpkin seed… I asked for fufu and got pounded yam instead. Yes it’s the same but i paid my money for what I asked for. Won’t be coming back. First and last.

I was meeting with a friend for lunch and I knew I wanted African food and I'm so glad that this was literally 2 minutes from my job. We ordered the jollof rice with chicken as well as the ackike with lamb. Everything was delicious. Quantity size very generous. The staff are very friendly. You're able to sit and eat inside and they actually come and bring the food to you. Highly recommend!

It was my first time trying African food so I can't really can't compare it to other restaurants. I loved the smoke turkey meat however the chicken was really really oily again I can't speak badly because from what I hear it's apart of their food culture so that's expected but not my preference. It was my first time trying fufu and it was cool. They have an amazing ginger juice that's very delicious 😋
