I normally have no issues when taking my dogs here, Dr's Aschim/Tripp have always been really good in responding and taking care of them. Not sure what has happened of late, took my dog in for emergency services and she was seen by a new doctor there, and while she was there I had them do blood work for an issue she was previously seen for. Two weeks later and 3 or 4 calls later still cant get a call to let us know if her levels are still high or if they have gone down, much less a call to see if she is doing any better. One of the receptionist Jessica was super nice and apologetic and even called back to let us know that we should be receiving a call from the doctor, yet nothing....frustrating to say the least!!

The Newberg Veterinary Clinic added a lot of stress to an already traumatic situation when our cat passed, and they made it very clear that they are here for money, not for the health and well-being of their patients and certainly not of their customers. I will never forget their lack of concern for our situation and the feeling that we were being extorted for money because somebody we trusted brought our sick cat in to them and we just needed to get her home again before she passed. Our cat Bobbi was brought in to Newberg Veterinary Hospital on 8/30 by a boarding facility that was caring for her while my wife and I were traveling to attend my brother’s wedding. We received a phone call from the boarding facility, advising us that the cat was taken to the vet and we would have to pick her up from there. On 8/31, we got back into town and my wife went to pick Bobbi up from the vet hospital. She came home crying because Bobbi was in the last stages of her life but the hospital would not release her into our care until their bill was paid in full. Since we had not brought her into the vet and had not authorized any of the costs incurred, we had asked to be invoiced so we could have some time to fit the cost into our budget, but were told that payment terms were not negotiable. We were forced to pay their bill on the spot to get Bobbi released and we brought her home, where she passed the following day. I called the hospital after Bobbi got home, to discuss the bill and could only reach an automated answering service that offered me several places to leave a voicemail but didn’t seem to connect to a live person during business hours. I left a voicemail on 8/31 and as of this writing on 9/6, I have not received a call back. I also sent an email to the main office on 8/31 and again have received no response from anyone at the hospital. It seems that now that they got their money, nobody at the hospital has any regard for my wife and I, so we are being ignored entirely.

BEST vet office ever! Dr. Weber is the first vet I have met that I would completely trust my dogs life with! He is so friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. My dog left his office happier than when he came, even after multiple surgeries. The whole office staff are amazing and so helpful. Newberg vet goes above and beyond all expectations, definitely will be returning.

Realized that I never shared what an amazing experience we had here back in March... and seeing some of the recent negative reviews I'd like to give some levity. We rescued our dog Leia last year and despite our best efforts, she kept experiencing gastrointestinal issues. BAD ones, like not eating for days, horrible things coming out of her. Needing fluids injected. We were seeing a vet in Sherwood, where we live who kept wanting to "run tests" but never really came back with anything except large bills. Kicker is, my wife has a gastrointestinal disorder and the symptoms were much like what Leia was experiencing. In those situations her doctor would prescribe prednisone so we asked that vet if that would be an option... they refused stating they don't believe in giving dogs steroids. Issue continues, the time between issues keeps shrinking. The bouts last longer. Leia was miserable. Trips to emergency vets. We got to the point where we wondered if we might have to let her go, if this was something that couldn't be fixed... nobody could give us an answer. Kicker was, when we talked to the previous vet about that they made us feel HORRIBLE saying we would be forced to surrender her to someone who would pay for her treatment. To be fair, we'd pay whatever it took (we'd already spent 1000s) for an actual SOLUTION, but all we were getting was "we dunnos" from them. Meanwhile, Leia was literally dying in front of us. Thankfully a family member told us to give Newberg Vet Hospital a shot. We called and talked to them and they were VERY understanding and kind. Got us in the next morning. We met with Dr. Aschim, who told us she had spent time reviewing Leia's records the night before (who does that???) and asked if we'd tried prednisone!! We explained what the previous vet said and she explained there were other derivatives we could use long term if it worked... so a few minutes and about 90 bucks later (I would've paid MORE!) we were out with a new lease on life. Within HOURS Leia was back to normal... and now with the lower dose prescription she hasn't had a bout since and is living her best rescue dog life. Thank you Dr. Aschim and the team!!! From the Mackenzie's AND our Princess Leia.

We recently switched to this vet after some negative experiences, and it’s been a breath of fresh air. Our pets were so loved on and treated with the utmost care while we were there. The tech took her time and made sure everything was done at the pace of the pets. I could tell our pets were valued versus just being another animal to come through the door. I’ll definitely be recommending people take their pets here.

Has gone way downhill. Up until two years ago we had great experiences with them treating our German Shepherd. That dog passed two years ago and we recently adopted a new dog. I discovered that at most times it's not possible to reach a person there. I left a message as requested and after 3 business days didn't hear back from them. I created an appointment online but the first available was three months out so I found a new vet (Sherwood Family Vet Clinic, great experience so far) and cancelled the appointment via email. I got a response noting it was cancelled. 3 months later I'm getting texts and emails about my upcoming appointment. I cancelled it via text. Now I get a phone call. I explained what happened and, politely, expressed my dismay at how their administration had gone downhill so badly. The woman interrupted me and said "that's not needed goodbye" and hung up on me. Wow. They have fallen further than I thought. Downright rude now.

We trust Newberg Veterinary Hospital with our beloved Gracie! They are caring and give excellent care along with great advice on how our girl can live the best life. She has been going here since she was a baby and now is a seven year old who has come thru some stuff that they treated beautifully.

We were in Sherwood and our puppy got a wound from another dogs nail while at Camp Bow Wow and needed stitches. We are from Bend and wanted to get the wound taken care of before driving back home and after 2 hours of calling around to different vets and pet hospitals Newberg Vet Hospital were the only ones that could squeeze us in. Although our puppy, Jax, did end up having to spend the night the staff took such great care of him and we are so thankful that they squeezed us into their already full schedule. They did a wonderful job stitching him up and we were worried it would be very expensive since they had to sedate him but the price was very affordable and reasonable. Thank you so much for helping us and being so kind to our pup, we all appreciate it! I would definitely recommend taking your pet here!

I have been so pleased with Newberg Veterinary hospital, from the pleasant atmosphere in the lobby all the way to the doctor's rooms. The ease of getting in, and the wonderful doctor, (I've only met one so far). I drive an hour each way to get to you because it has been worth it! Thank you

I forget the name of the on call vet I spoke to over the phone this evening but she was absolutely wonderful. I was worried about my 1 year old golden retriever that’s in heat and vomiting. The vet reassured me, was very informative, and gave me advice on how to care for my dog through the night. This is just another example of the amazing care I’ve received at Newberg Vet. They are truly the best.

I’ve been here multiple times with my French Bulldog the past two years including her recent spay surgery. The staff has always been friendly and doctors very caring. My pup has not been afraid to visit when needed. Service has been timely even on very busy days.

The staff is very understanding!!! We have a 2.5 year old American Bully and she struggles with the Vets. After a really bad experience with a local Vet, we found Newberg Vet. They work with us in order to get our girl the best care. Dr Webber is amazing. He truly understands every animal has different needs and is willing to help us with Cora.

Dr. Weber and the entire staff at Newberg Vet Hospital truly care about the health and well-being of their patients. Have been driving from Beaverton to Newberg for almost 15 years because of the personal service and the dedication to my dogs; they take time to understand the symptoms/issues and educate me about the best solutions. I couldn't continue to rescue older dogs without their support. Would give 10 star rating if I could.

Dr Johnson first evaluated Pippin the kitten when I found him in Nov 2005. Last week, she did his "senior cat" evaluation and called me to report lab results. I appreciate that the same Vet has cared for Pippin over these many years... and she'll help me keep him around for a few more.

The team here have been wonderful to work with. We switched our dog to this clinic during her last 2 years when she started getting health complications due to her age. The staff is very compassionate and genuinely care about both pet and owner’s well-being. Our dog crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. The team was very empathetic and gave us all the time we wanted to say our goodbyes to her. Thank you for taking care of Meeka!

I love the personal care given to my cat and dogs by the entire Newberg Vet team. Even though it gets crazy busy at times, the office staff is welcoming and attentive. The technicians are knowledgeable, calm and help my pets feel comfortable. The vets are compassionate, informative, and very responsive to my pet's needs. I've always received clear direction and advice on how to keep my pets happy and healthy. From toe nail clippings to surgical procedures, Newberg Vet is excellent in animal care. Thank you for many years of great service!

Reliable, professional and competent. I appreciate all the general, specialty and emergency care my dog has received from the staff at Newberg Vet over the last few years. The best part about Newberg is that they listen to your input as the pet owner, and with a chronically ill dog like mine, that makes a world of difference. Thank you.

My mother was there today with her little dog with an ear infection. Unfortunately when checking out she had trouble with her Care Credit account. While calling me for payment a good citizen payed my mothers vet bill. I would like to thank the person for helping my mother. Words can not express how thankful we are. There truly are angels out there. I have taken my dogs to Newberg Vet since 2007 and have received excellent treatment each time. This was my moms first visit and it was truly amazing. Thank you to all the staff and the angel that helped my mother!

The vets and staff at NVH are top notch. We’ve been taking our pets here for over 15 years and I cannot speak highly enough of the care I have received. I’m pretty confident I’ve seen all the vets in the practice and they are consistently caring, concerned and easy to interact with regarding our pets medical issues. I would highly recommend them and frequently do for new friends in the area. Thank you for doing such a great job!

I love and trust Dr. Webers and NVH for all of our Labradors care. The reason why... I truly feel they make decisions about care just how they would if it were their own pet. The office is run smoothly. Call-backs are made, it feels organized, and everyone is on the same page. I drive an hour and 1/2 each way to go to Dr. Weber. And its worth every minute. Thank you NVH for the wonderful care! Julie & Dale Williamson Rock Creek Labradors Battle Ground WA

Been going here for at least 13 years, with many animals. The staff and vets have been there for every up and down and try their best to keep meeting a growing need for care by expanding staffing as needed and truly working as hard as possible. They have been gentle and compassionate through some of the hardest times in our lives and always explain things carefully, helping clients make educated decisions about their pets care. They’ve expanded their range of services and expertise over the years as well and don’t hesitate to refer out when needed too. I’m very appreciate of their team and their clinic .

I wanted to let everyone know what kind of people work for Newberg veterinary hospital. We have had many pets over the years and have gone to multiple different vet offices however, only one of them has stood out in such a positive way like Newberg veterinary hospital. They have ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help when we needed anything. They are the people that helped us with our cat Riley when he was at the end of his life. They have been there for us with all of the recent health issues our dog Cairo has had. They have been what a vet office should be and more. I especially want to say thank you to doctor O’laghlin. He is seriously one of the nicest and most caring doctors I have ever met. He is honest and will tell you how it is, he always makes sure that whatever it is going on you and your pet are taken care of. The loss of Cairo has hit us so hard. Doctor O’ took time to reassure us when we had to make the hard decision to put him to sleep. All we knew was we had all agreed we would not let Cairo get to a point where he was in pain. Cairo lived a long and happy life, and thanks to doctor O’ and his team he got two more happy months with us. Out of all the pets we have lost, we have never received such a personal caring card from the doctor. He is seriously the best doctor we have ever had and we are so grateful he was our sweet Cairo’s doctor.

Newberg Vet doctors & staff are 10/10 always. Our little Miss Peanut has had amazing care from emergency to annual routine care. They are caring and gentle with every creature that comes through the doors, animal or human. 😉. Our breeder, Oregon Bordoodles, recommends them highly. Dr.Weber did an emergency c-section on our dog, his skill to get in & out with as little trauma to mom & pups was amazing. Her incision was so clean & no issues later for her. As you can see we love Newberg Vet in our family.

Newberg veterinary hospital summed up in one word AMAZING!!! they were so helpful, caring, and fast to respond and set up a appointment. They listened to my situation and responded so fast. I'm truly happy with the service I received. In addition to my request of services to my cat this company clipped my cats nails and bathed him just out of generosity and love for animals. Thank you so much newberg veterinary hospital. 😽💞

We recently had to say goodbye to our Buddy. From the first call to the last the receptionists were very sympathetic and kind. The doctor made the process go smooth and as painless as possible for all of us. The urn (which I did not know was included) is beautiful and the pawprint was too. Thank you for making such a difficult decision easier to deal with. We traveled over 40 miles to this vet since we moved just because they are the very best.

Staff are always very kind, courteous, and informative. They are willing to work with schedules to get our pets seen, even if it's 2 species during the same visit! You all are amazing!
