My mom brought me here for lunch as this used to be her favorite spot while growing up in Newburgh. It did not disappoint. The sauce is the best part. I got the Penne Alla Vodka and was incredibly impressed as this was one of the best that I have ever had. Used the garlic bread to dip in the sauce and was in heaven. It was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend bringing family and enjoying some classic Italian food.

Went here last month for dinner, and our kids loved it. The last time I was here before was in high school around 1995. The way it looks now is amazing. The outside is of the restaurant was renovated nicely, the inside was spacious and not too crowded with tables. Went with the family again the other night and was not disappointed. I have to say that the staff here is super friendly and pleasant to talk to. Looks like we've found our go-to restaurant in orange County. The food was fantastic and delicious. I can't wait to taste their entire menu. Thank you, Vesuvio's. We can't wait to come back.

The food was great and everyone was very nice to us for our birthday celebration dinner. However, some family members felt rushed as the servers were pulling plates away while they were eating. I had to apologize to them on the restaurant’s behalf. I was embarrassed and it was my birthday (a few weeks ago). I guess we will be ordering out going forward. Never had an issue before. I understand you need to turn tables quickly, but we were barely there an hour. I don’t like feeling rushed especially as a regular paying customer. I know it happens sometimes, but if my family members do not feel welcome, you put me in a very difficult position to provide positive feedback. I will change my rating once there is improvement.

I was there for a dinner with the Mid Hudson Food & Wine Society. Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the ambience. I would highly recommend.

Love the ambience. Service was a bit slow. We went there around 3:30 so it wasn’t that busy. Our food was delicious 🤤 We had calamari and 2 salads. Both items were proportion properly and worth the money.

I am not one to review places, i just eat and leave. I normally leave reviews to my wife but felt strongly enough to do this: The food was excellent, the portions were large, and the staff was very pleasant, professional and always available to us. The dress code was a little better than casual so we were able to walk in off the street. We did not make a reservation yet we were seated immediately by a friendly greeter. I’ve lived in newburgh my whole life and I’ve always passed by this little restaurant on DuPont avenue and it was always busy but I had never been there till last night. Boy do I wish I stopped in much sooner! Absolutely amazing place they staff was welcoming and helpful both the hostess and the waitress were excellent. First my drink came out and it was very tasty and strong at the same time i don’t know how they did that but all you need is one and your feeling good. Next the mozzarella frites came out and they were perfect came out extra cheesy and you can tell it was excellent cheese they used. My steak came with a side of penne which was awesome both were eye pleasing and stomach pleasing. Decided to treat myself to a desert and I was not disappointed! That lava cake was everything you wanted it to be. Overall very pleased would recommend to everyone.

What a fantastic find!! We just happened to pass this place and my wife took me here for my birthday. From beginning to end this place is top notch. The drinks are creative and well done. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food is excellent. I would highly recommend reservations, especially on the weekends. We're looking forward to returning.

All I have to say is WOW. This place is DELICIOUS. Our server Justin was attentive and polite. It was a great experience from the beautifully clean glasses , to the decor, the entrees all the way down to the desserts. If you havent been to this hidden gem... i would suggest it over & over.

While visiting the area for a short business trip my wife and I visited this restaurant. We loved this place so much that we came back the next evening to try other dishes in their menu. Wonderful date place.  We had our own private little area that felt like we all by ourselves. Attentive service. Both of us got the chicken parm with linguini that was overflowing. Tasted so good that I'll be back.

Came here last night for our Anniversary. I ordered the stuffed sole. It came out cool, not cold, but I chalked it up to it being finished prior to the other 5 people in our party. I figured I'd heat it up and have it for lunch today. I was very disappointed. There were so many scales in the stuffing...more then just a bite here and there, it was loaded with them. I also got mashed potatoes and they were very bland. I didn't say anything to the waitress, as she was super nice, and I didn't want to ruin the celebration we were having. I was also a little disappointed that the one girl cleaning the tables, kept coming over to see if my friend was done with her dinner, even though she was she eating. The restaurant was not packed and it was like 7ish on a Sunday. It won't stop us from coming back, but I will not be ordering the fish again. I was just overall bummed, because I was so excited to come and enjoy a great meal, and I was a little let down. I'm hoping it was just an 'off' night.

we arrived a little early before the dinner crowd. the place was completely full at 630 when we left and it was a thursday night. I can understand why it is so popular. The food was delicious, plentiful, the service was terrific and on point. great atmosphere too! It was a great dining experience.

I went there tonight & the food was absolutely perfect! Cooked rught, flavorful! The service was great!! I believe the name of my server was Christopher, he was so amazing had perfect timing. Fast service but not rushed. Attentive staff that are friendly and take care of your request promptly. The food is outstanding some other best Italian I've had. If you want delicious Italian this is a must visit.

Great service and awesome food. Atmosphere is nice, but the bar side was a little noisy. Nice size portions that don't cost a fortune! 2 appetizers, 4 dinners, 3 salads, 4 mixed drinks and 3 soda .. $204.00. And we all took about half of our dinners home. Not to mention, too full for dessert. Only negative... parking can be difficult. But I definitely will go back!

Food is usually good. Had a not so good meal for the first time. The rigatoni, with pesto, Mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and chicken had no flavor. Chicken and pesto very bland. Their prices have also gone up considerably. For the $135 tab, I'd rather buy the groceries and cook it myself!

I went last night after touring some wineries with family & friends, this restaurant was recommended by a Bar tender & it did not disappoint. The service was extraordinary, the food was absolutely delicious! The portions are big and fairly priced, 3 family members had one of last nights seafood pasta special, my friends had the skirt steak special & chicken Alfredo tortellini, I had chicken Francese, since it was my Birthday dinner our waiter brought me Tiramisu🥳. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're around this area, not only for the great service but the delicious food!

This was my first visit to Vesuvios. I heard about it for years but never made it there until today. Reservations are recommended. The atmosphere is quite nice and has the perfect ambiance (in my opinion). Service was timely and courteous. We started our venture with drink specials (Limoncello Martini, Pinot Grigio and Spiced Pear Martini). Excellent on all accounts. Appetizers were Butternut Squash soup (seasonal) and fried Calimari. Vesuvius Calimari is one of the best. Crispy crust and tender pieces perfectly seasoned with plenty of marinara sauce. Entrees come with a salad, which was very good, and just the right amount of dressing. We had shrimp scampi, and two specials. Specials were a very unique gnocchi dish called pumpkin spice gnocci (seasonal) and a 14 ounce pork chop. All dishes were really good. The gnocci dish was very interesting. Being a first-generation Italian-American, I know gnocchi. So I was initially suspect of the fused flavors. Much to my surprise it was quite good. All the flavors are blended perfectly with no single flavor overpowering. I never had cranberries with an gnocci dish before. Honestly, I would order this again. Especially if you want something different. Too bad it is a seasonal dish. For desert, I had a double espresso and a Rum Spiced Bread Pudding. Also very good. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. I will return.

By far..... exceeds excellence! Our office lunch was mouthwatering, our salad was fresh, chicken was super crispy, pasta dish was full of flavor and dessert was the perfect ending to our lunches! It is so hard to find places that are consistent, flavorful, and offers great portions but this is our absolute favorite! We would recommend over and over again! We can't wait for our next take out order!

Vesuvio's is always a family favorite of ours. On This particular night the hostess advised that there having computer issues and could not take credit cards. I replied that's not going to deter us from eating here we are loyal customers to Vesuvios and Peter. Lol it would take a lot more to stop us from eating at one of our favorite restaurants

A group of us went on a recommendation. It was not dissapointing. They accept reservations which is helpful and has the proper amount of staff to care for the customers (which isn't always the case elsewhere). The service was excellent! Food was delicious and reasonable in price. Our waiter was pleasant. Feels upscale but casual enough to come in on a whim. Would definitely return.

The best calamari I've had in a long time, it was extremely tender fresh and not over-cooked. the sauce was perfect not too sharp just right for my taste. I was able to enjoy someone bread with oil and parmesan cheese. Truly the best Italian food I've had in a long time.

Yes, this is one of the best restaurants in 50 miles radius. Trust me, I am very fussy with taste and quantity per serving... They will have you covered with BOTH.
