Not
Safe
They
do
not
follow
basic
care
guidelines.
10/27/23:
post
partum
preeclampsia
with
BP
160/95,
heart
rate
running
in
the
40s.
After
tests
that
were
on
cell
phone
before
seen
by
providers
and
hours,
the
doctor
comes
in
and
states
they
will
start
her
on
Labetalol,
which
lowers
heart
rate
despite
her
already
having
significant
bradycardia.
A
nurse
came
to
give
her
IV
zofran
for
vomiting,
the
peripheral
line
had
no
blood
return
on
either
lumen
and
immediate
pain
with
flushing.
It
was
clearly
infiltrated,
she
gave
the
med
anyway
and
then
was
going
to
run
a
1000ml
bag
knowing
the
line
was
blown.
When
I
told
her
the
line
was
infiltrated
she
stated
β
Iβve
been
a
nurse
for
20
yearsβ.
I
am
unsure
how
that
supports
poor
practice.
I
did
not
feel
my
sister
was
in
the
care
of
safe
or
competent
staff.
From
the
providers
to
the
nurses
the
information
and
treatment
plan
was
reckless.
10/18/23:
planned
induction
3
days
long,
23
hours
of
labor
after
my
sisters
water
had
broken,
they
inserted
a
foley
balloon
to
assist
in
dialating
her
this
introduced
bacteria
into
a
clean
wound
causing
her
and
the
baby
into
an
emergency
Chorioamnionitis.
She
was
incoherent
with
a
fever
of
103
and
the
babies
heart
rate
was
over
200.
After
her
and
the
baby
were
stabilized
she
had
a
C
section.
This
was
high
risk
due
to
recent
infection
and
she
initially
had
inadequate
anesthesia.
