I would normally give the Cumby a miss coz it gets real crooded.. but i popped in ont way home for a couple while the sun was out & it was tremendous & nice to be able to have a proper look round... If ya in the Ouseburn area give it a go.. you won't be disappointed

This is an iconic place, and long may it continue. Great beer and craik. Lovely in the summertime. Up on hill, looking down on Ouseburn below. Class 👌

Arguably one of the best pubs in the North East. Great laid back atmosphere. Lots of space outside at the front overlooking the Lower Ouseburn valley. Cosy two room inside with real fire in the winter and loads of folk evenings in the other bar. Great small venue at the back/ upstairs. Always a good selection of cask ales and real ciders. All in all a great pub.

Cracking little pub in Byker. Went for a gig and was delighted to witness some wonderful folk music outside beforehand. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Fantastic pub pre-Covid and since reopening it hasn't lost it's charm. Selection of Ales is top drawer and the atmosphere is as great outdoors as it always was inside. Bar staff always superb too.

A great traditional pub serving mostly local ales with a gig space upstairs. Thoroughly recommend if you're in the area

Great place to have a few drinks and for live music like the fiddles downstairs or bigger gigs upstairs!

The very best bar anywhere in the world as full of character with fine wines and ales and music events and sword dancing the night I was there. Spectacular garden full of herbs and with a great view and steps down to other nearby venues. Don't walk passed this pub you'll be missing out big time. Lovely burning hot fire and books and games. Hot drinks also wow they've thought of everything here Paul

Well it used to be totally cool but now you've got junior hitlers over policing the place and ensuring folks don't enjoy themselves too much, shame. To repeat another reviewers comments "the band were warm and welcoming but the staff were arrogant and rude", bevis frond detonated tho

A bit shabby and small and quite difficult to find. Didn't try the food so can't comment. Pretty good place for gigs although when I visited there were problems with the sound

I didn't eat here but came for some drinks and a gig. It's a beautiful building and was really friendly with a great atmosphere. I especially appreciated thoughtful touches like communal suncream on a hot day, and the signs clearly explaining what toilet facilities were available. Great selection of interesting and delicious drinks too.

What a wee gem of a place. We held a small gathering last week to celebrate my aunts life. Simon - looked after us really well. Nothing was a problem. Lots of different keg & cask beers to choose from. Proper old school pub with a fantastic atmosphere. We had the back room to ourselves during the afternoon and later on in the evening the fiddles and guitars started appearing; this wasn’t a problem as we were outside in the gorgeous beer garden. What a lovely day. Thank you so much for helping us make this happen.

I'm a squad of workers "big squad " In the Ouseburn area. 2 of us were asked to try this place out as we are here for 3 weeks. Honestly if anyone watches movies I really thought I had took the wrong turn. The customer service was absolutely zero. I tried 3 times to make conversations. We paid for our drinks out of courtesy but left them outside and made a hasty retreat.. must be close friends giving good reviews. Not how I would run a nice traditional pup.

Excellent start to our day out. Great beer, £4 per pint, it got a lot dearer🤣. Super bar staff, friendly customers. Just a smashing traditional bar.

Kind of well hidden, but very much worth seeking out. Stupendous range of beers, a real proper old pub interior, and an excellent outdoor area. Just brilliant.

A really nice local feel pub. I stumbled in while carolling was happening and it was such a lovely atmosphere. Everyone, staff and patrons, were really kind. There's a large selection of draft beer, stout etc. Why I haven't been in before now I'll never know.

We visited here for my small stag party, i found the drinks very nice with lots of choice and very bespoke. The outside area is large and off the beaten track. Excellent pub, service and very friendly customers.

One of the best pubs in Tynemouth. Great beer and food. Limited seating in bar area and outside tables now ruined by the addition of a standing area. Much better places in Tynemouth if you wish to be outside.
