The place is amazing and elegant but very busy. The staff are so attentive. I had a sirloin stake and cheddar mushroom soup. Everything was very delicious. Definitely going back again. I recommend making a reservation because it is usually busy.

Came here for my fiancé's birthday and we both really enjoyed it! The service was great; I think Charlotte was looking after us and she was really helpful with us and other diners. With spending £100, we expected well seasoned food and cooked how we requested. The scallops were overcooked and one looked like it was cut open before it came to the table. The pea puree tasted like gritty mushy peas. The lamb was also overcooked and not rare. The steak was poorly seasoned, not rare and was chewy. We were also in the restaurant for over 2.5 hours, which was far too long. Not impressed with the quality of food and will not be returning.

Came for an evening meal with my girlfriend. First time here, and it was amazing!! Really enjoyed the food! I had the 120z sirloin steak (medium), and it was delicious. Can't believe I've waited so long to come! The Mrs was really impressed as well. We both had 3 courses, and it was a good amount of food but not too much to feel overly full! Highly recommend visiting.

Just as good as always. ⏰ Waited only 10 minutes for a table of 5, as we didn’t reserve. ⭐️ Service was helpful and friendly, though sometimes too informative and repetitive. 🍹 great drink selection. 🥩 steaks were perfectly cooked sauces were great also. 🍟 twice cooked chips were amazing. 🥗 didn’t need the half a lettuce salad on the side in a bowl with Parmesan, but was included in price. 🍝 kids meals available and a good size. 💳 cash or credit card accepted

Absolutely delicious lunch today. We chose from the lunch time menu, which was superb. Marcus was our waiter and had only been in the job 4 days, he was very attentive, and took good care of us ladies. The food was absolutely amazing for the price could not fault anything. Very very good value for money. Will definitely be back

Been twice but I want to review this one time. Popped into today for some nosh with the wife. The decor is lovely, the tables clean and the seating comfortable. We got a bottle of water with ice and lemon on the table. So, we was served by a waiter called, James. A lovely gent whom was helpful and attentive and very friendly. We just had mains and a pud. We got the surf and turf fillet with a lobster tail served rare. It took around ten-fifteen minutes to arrive, in that time we had a few cocktails and didn’t notice the wait. The steak was beautifully cooked rare, the lobster tail was excellent, my onion loaf was lovely and we bother got lovely peppercorn sauce was a delight. We got sides of greens, Mac ‘n’ cheese and garlic mushrooms, all fantastic. We got a pud of Apple & Rhubarb crumble, one with custard and one with ice cream. I found the crumble a little sweet, but that was cut down by the rhubarb filling. The custard was outstanding. It was a moderately expensive. But it was well worth it. We left full, happy and a bit out of pocket but you need to treat yourself. Recommend? Definitely. Great staff, great food and simply a beautiful place for steak lovers. Negatives: none, just the cocktail julep had a lot of ice. A minor criticism for such a lovely day. Get yourself along, you can get cheaper nosh on the menu if you don’t fancy splashing the cash.

Overall my wife and I really enjoyed our visit. Starters of soup and pate were lovely however the pate portion seems a little stingy. My wife really enjoyed her steak the Turkey roast I had was lovely except the sprouts had a very rubbery texture and the bacon on the pig in blanket tasted unpleasant. Desserts were lovely. Service wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. After we were seated we waited at least ten minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink the restaurant was relatively quiet so couldn’t understand why.

It is so unfortunate to give 3 stars. Restaurant and customer service was totally great. My issue was the steak. It was a nice cut. Nicely cooked (medium / medium rare). But someone in the kitchen ruined it by pouring the whole salt container into it. I was hungry so I didn't want to wait for another. Still: first time when I didn't eat the whole steak. The side food was good. I have to say that customer service was awesome, Olivia B. is great with customer service person😊😊

Came here for my 25th birthday with my partner, ordered the butchers block sharing platter, very good value for money as you get 3 steaks, 2 sides, 2 sauces for the steak and brisket stuffed bone marrow, as well as an onion loaf. Also ordered the chicken wings which were very nice and I ordered a lobster tail, first time trying lobster and it didn’t disappoint . I like the fact you get a complimentary lettuce wedge- the Stilton and blue cheese dressing is very nice. Only gripe I had is on the booking my partner stated it was my birthday, they asked if we were celebrating a birthday when we arrived but I’m not sure what the point of it was as I didn’t get anything apart from a “happy birthday”.

We had an amazing time here at Miller & Carter. The service was faultless and the food delicious. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. I expect that all their servers are brilliant, but ours, Declan, was exceptional, and properly made it an evening to remember

Fabulous service from Mark, great cocktails from the bar and delicious steaks from the kitchen. We shared the butchers block and was great value for money. Also excellent gluten free choice and knowledge and you can get more than the usual menu due to food prep!! Great team effort

Overall a nice evening, but waitress Olivia was virtually a one man band and so occasionally we had to wait, but that is nothing against her she never stopped. The steak was tasty but the accompianing items were quite small. The toilets were very clean which is always a good sign.

We was advised to try the steak combo out while waiting to get seated. Definitely not disappointed. Absolutely beautiful. Service was excellent too.

The T-bone Steak was amazing! Hats off to the chef because it was cooked perfectly. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had and will highly recommend Miller & Carter to anyone visiting Newcastle. The service was 5 stars. We had no issues with any of our orders and didn’t have to wait long for our food. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and you’ll be spoilt for choice. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

My wife and I attended at lunch time for our 9th wedding anniversary. We had the côte de boeuf sharing experience. The food was beautiful and cooked to perfection. My wife and I always share food so this was perfect. A lot of value for money. Our server was Sam. She was very attentive and informative as its the first time we've visited a Miller and Carter. We felt pretty much cosy on our own yet surrounded by people. Our server wasnt in our face every 5 mins yet always there when we needed something. She then brought a nice little ice cream dish with 'happy anniversary' written in chocolate. The perfect experience from start to finish.

We went here for dinner on Friday evening and I could not fault it. The waiter was very helpful and gave us recommendations for which type of steak to order. We also had the sharing dessert platter which was delicious. The staff were very friendly. We flew over from Ireland for the weekend. If we're ever in Newcastle again I would definitely go back. We also had cocktails which were yummy. Overall a lovely evening in this restaurant 😃

I have been to the restaurant for lunch with my friend. The restaurant has a beautiful interior. We had chicken breast and steak as a main and double chocolate ice cream and profiteroles. The chicken breast and steak were very juicy, soft and full of flavours. The service staff was good. Although the restaurant was not busy for lunch. Overall the dining experience was amazing. We see you again.

First time eating here and it won't be the last. From walking through the door the staff were friendly, warm and attentive. We were shown to our table in a cozy area of the resteraunt. Given our menus and were allowed plenty of time to browse and choose our meals. The food was very tasty and beautifully cooked. We will definitely be back to try out more of the menu. Highly recommend 👌

Always a consistent very high standard. We bought from the lunchtime menu and chose the rump steak which was perfect. Our service host Jonny was also 5 star and knows his onions 🌰 and steaks and drinks etc. We are booked again for today and looking forward to trying the festive menu.

Pre-booked a table for my sons birthday. Our waitress who i think was called Sarah was excellent. She explained everything as it was our first visit. We choose from the set menu and had 3 courses each with added lobster tails. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. They even added a happy birthday message onto my sons desert. The only bad thing about our experience was how cold it was. We were sat near the door and it was very drafty.

Declan was so lovely and helpful she. I had realised I had booked a table for the wrong night!!!! He made us laugh and got us squeezed in. So very grateful, also our server Mark was very lovely and helpful too. Excellent service and amazing food as well!!! We will be back

I have been recommended to try Miller's and Carter's for years and finally popped my cherry with the wife this evening. Yes, it does stand up to the hype and I would thoroughly recommend the "Miller's Cote de Beouf Experience" and ask for the steak to be cooked medium. You will not be disappointed. The service was exceptional and represented good value for money. To finish the evening my wife and I had 2 of the cocktail desserts which were worth the money too.

Lovely restaurant I took my friend for a meal here as a nice treat catch up time it was great I've been afew time's now. Food is fresh and hot, waitress was called Lorene helpful and friendly lovely atmosphere.

Came for a birthday meal and the food was brilliant. Johnny looked after us all evening and made sure we had everything we needed. He was great and even gave us extra butter and sauce for the steak. The man deserves a raise if you ask me😉

Came into the restaurant last Friday evening 24/3/23. What can I say had an amazing experience!! Food was outstanding and service even better. Our server was called Rachel and she couldn’t have been more attentive to the groups questions offering fabulous recommendations not only on food but the cocktails too. Would definitely recommend and will be back!!! 10/10

Had a fabulous Christmas work meal here. The service and food was fantastic. I had one of the best steaks I've ever had... simply delicious. The sticky toffee pudding is also to die for. Thoroughly recommended.

Very welcoming place, very clean, Staff are polite and professional and explained everything perfectly. Good menu and I like how they advise you the best way steak is served but will cook it to your liking, food was lovely and throughly enjoyed our meal, good choice of drinks Reasonably priced would recommend this restaurant.

My first visit yesterday was excellent, despite a rowdy table near us, which management handled promptly. Food was amazing, as was the wine but our waiter Mark made the night. Very attentive with good crack, had a good laugh!

Amazing place. Accommodated almost 20 of us from Belfast for a stag party lunch. Food was amazing. I ordered off the standard menu, which is more expensive, but worth it. They also have a lunch menu, £9, £12, £15 for 1, 2 or 3 courses. Rachel was our host, and couldn't have asked for better. Amazing service.

Lovely place. This time around it wasn't as perfect. Yes it was busy . My steak was cold. Waited ages for our drinks , more than 10 minutes, it just didn't feel right. Felt forgot about. Had to keep calling waiter over. Even though they walked past several times. Everything felt half hearted..quite disappointed really. But we all have bad days xxx

Food was lush, service was great. Prices were steep but you get good quality food and decent size portions so can't complain. Just makes you determined to clean your plate.

Overall we enjoyed our visit to Miller & Carter. The service was good, drinks were great (red wine, draft lager and long island ice tea) All the food was lovely apart from the steaks!! We were a party of 2 couples for an evening meal. For starters we had salt and pepper calamari, bbq chicken wings and cheddar mushrooms which were especially tasty! We all wanted the fillet surf and turf to be told when we were ordering they didn't have the lobster so couldn't have it. 3 of us opted for the 8oz fillet and 1 of us for the 20oz t-bone with the scallops and prawn side. 3 cooked medium rare and 1 cooked medium. For dessert I had the chocolate brownie which was delicious. The beef dripping sauce was also gorgeous. 1 of the steaks had to be sent back as it was overcooked. The waiter took the steak back to the chef who agreed it was overcooked and cooked a new one which come to how it was originally requested which we were happy with. The fillet steaks themselves were approximately £31 each not including the side. My partner got the t-bone steak which although he thought was cooked to the correct level (medium rare) he did comment on how chewy the meat was, which was something we all said about all our steaks which was really off putting. It was hard work to get through the meat which you wouldn't expect for the type of cut or price. As far as steak restaurants go, this is definitely one of the poorer ones I've been to and wouldn't recommend it for steak. Especially considering that it's not a cheap restaurant. The whole bill come to around £250.

We were greeted by Jack, he showed us to our table and introduced us to Jess who would be our waitress. I think the fact both these names have stuck in my head speaks volumes on the level of service we received. The service we got was amazing, we did not feel rushed but did not wait for anything. The restaurant was immaculate, lovely surroundings, we were on the 1st floor at the balcony overlooking downstairs. The restaurant was full, there were enough staff and no one appeared to be stressed. Jack was clearly the meter and greeter but never stopped, he was clearing and setting tables ready for the next diners. Having worked in this industry, I appreciate it is not always the case that everyone pulls their weight. The food was delicious and the atmosphere delightful. I could not fault one part of our evening. Thank you. I feel Jack and Jess are a credit to your restaurant.

Lovely meal today. Jonny our sever was amazing with his knowledge of the cuts on offer, what’s recommended and made us feel comfortable in ordering what we wanted rather than just agreeing with what was said on the menu. He’s an asset to the restaurant.

Blake our server was a delight, really attentive and friendly and helped me work through the menu as I had never been to M&C before. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will be back. Thank you Blake for making our evening lovely!
