Beautiful and exuberant Edwardian style Grade 2 listed shopping arcade with glass barrel-vaulted roof. Built in 1837, it was rebuilt in 1906 after a fire. It is light and lofty with incredible tiling detail and a balcony running above the shops. I'm afraid I was there for the architecture, rather than the shopping. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing old fashioned arcade building built in 1908. Apart from shopping, it’s good spot for tourists too. It’s like hidden gem right in the heart of city. Real Victorian look architecture. Not many shops open but well worth a walk through. I like that music shop Windows.

This is a beautiful arcade. There are a number of shops but the big one is widows which sells musical instruments and records. The arcade has a fantastic tiled wall a glass arched ceiling and the shop windows all dark timber. Giving a very traditional Victorian feel.

Beautiful Edwardian shopping arcade built in 1906 with mosaic floors, marble wall tiles & intricate pillars. Great selection of niche & luxury shops, including vintage clothing & musical instruments. Great walk-through too between Grey Street & Grainger Street.

This is a place to enjoy retro architecture of a shopping mall. I feel of grandness. Only few shops are available. One for apparel, other for instruments and shoes...good place to take some photos to save in your album...

Edwardian shopping arcade built in 1906 and designed by Oswald and Son, of Newcastle. It gives you a old world feeling. It is well worth a visit the architecture is amazing, and so are the shops.

Has changed more food outlets now have lost all the quirky little shops, about time they finished the roof and got rid of all the scaffolding makes the arcade look bad.

Situated in a beautiful building with a lot of great businesses inside, including one of the most well known music shops JG Windows. Talk a step back in time and enjoy a walk through.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Central Arcade in Newcastle recently and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The arcade itself is a beautiful, historic building with a charming Victorian architecture. It's a great place to walk around and admire the details of the building, such as the intricate tiling and the grand staircases. The shops and restaurants inside the arcade were also wonderful. There was a great variety of unique and independent retailers selling everything from vintage clothing to handmade jewelry. The food in the restaurants was delicious, with a good mix of options from casual bites to fine dining. The atmosphere of the arcade was also lovely. It's a great place to wander around and explore, with a relaxed and friendly vibe. The staff in all the shops and restaurants were also friendly and helpful. Overall, I had a wonderful time at the Central Arcade and I would highly recommend a visit. It's a great place to find unique gifts, indulge in some delicious food, and admire the beautiful architecture. I will definitely be returning in the future.

A beautiful look into the historical architecture of Newcastle. Sadly not many stores survive in the arcade. Windows music shop seems to be the longest standing store.

Still busy with businesses and an excellent music shop windows. Nice, dry and safe place. I love ambience and it's distinctive look along with the range of shops over a great shortcut in the rain.

Nice selection of high Street retailers plus a couple of local producers such as a gin shop. And a great local coffee shop. Piped music (not too loud!) and outdoor seating to enjoy coffee or cocktails in the run!

Nice old fashioned building. Has a few small shops that have changed lots over the last 10 years then on the other side is windows the music store. Love this place but can't play any instruments well enough to want to buy them.
