A nice hangout for friends and family specially for kids with play area!! Halal Nandos within the premises! Unfortunately no parking outside but nearby parking available at reasonable charge!! Rest rooms, elevators and lifts available with wheelchair access and entrance! Very well maintained and tidy!! Kids / youngsters play area includes air hockey, water cannon, power shooting, basketball, car racing, motor biking and many other options!! Recommended for couple of hours outing!!

Love this shopping mall. Clean & tidy and has nice staff. A big car park make it more easy for shopping. This place is not only full of branded store for shopping but also good restaurants, Bars, eateries, Aspers casino, cinema. All under one roof over two sides of a mall and spread on two floors. Clean toilets. It’s not only busy in day light for shopping but have almost everything for a great night out. Located in right in city heart making it a great entertainment centre.

Amusements, great restaurants, and a 4D cinema. In addition, there is a public piano. Clean and tidy. Very great condition. A pleasant atmosphere. I love this place.

It's alright. Still a few empty spaces from places that shut during covid. The cinema was decent, and Yume world is great but unfortunately they removed all the chairs. There's nowhere to sit now inside which is disappointing.

Went to Cineworld to see the new Avatar. The way of the water in 3D/4Dx these beautiful wise words were spoken. I find this so spiritual and fits in with many alternative thinkers. Please like if you feel the words spoken in the film: The way of water has no beginning and no end. Our hearts beat in the womb of the world. Water connects all things, life to death, darkness to light. The sea gives and the sea takes: : : : : Tsireya Quotes From Avatar: The Way Of Water

The Gate is something of a conundrum in the heart of Newcastle City Centre. There are bard & eateries, a cinema, a games outlet & various businesses, but it seems a little out of the way, almost unknown. The outside bustle OG the city centre is very different from the vibe inside here, it's like stepping out into something else. I'm sure it's very popular on evenings & has a buzz about it at times, but it just felt a little out of place & under used somewhat.

Great venue in the heart of Newcastle, plenty of restaurants and bars as well as a cinema for the family to do, and for the adults, aspers casino is open 24/7. Immediately outside the gate is the big market, which also has plenty more restaurants and bars.

This is not a shopping mall rather a food mall...all bar and food giant available. Cinemax is there for a movie.. Pl don't expect shopping apparel here because this is just for entertainment purpose..

Nice indoor leisure zone with an arcade, cinema and escape room as well as some restaurants and bars perfect way to kill a few hours and short walk from the train station facilities were clean and well maintained.

Average place to spend your time. Has a movie theatre, casino, couple of places to eat (weatherspoons, wonder bar, Pizza Hut) and play games (Yu Me). The interiors are pretty well done!

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space."

The gate is a pretty awesome place. It has bards, restaurants and entertainment options galore. There are a few bars downstairs, there is a pizza hut and a nandos as well as a casino upstairs. There's the cinema on the top floors. And there's of course the escape room and axe throwing place as well as the arcade and Ctrl pad. You could spend days in there without getting bored.

We had food in th Weatherspoons there. Table tops were filthy. I asked that our table be wiped down and she basically just spread the dirt. We ordered for two adults and two children. They forgot one of the children's meals so he was kept waiting for ages. There was a deal on but I still thought the food was expensive for what we got. My scampi consisted of four pieces of scampi, a few chips and a few peas!

Went to the cineworld cinema and they had an offer on. Buy some food at one of the restaurants and watch a film and you get 6 hours of free parking at the gate. Tremendous deal. The staff in all the places were great. The security guys were good at keeping on top of some silly people.

It's been lovely going to The Gate for cinemas and there's food and drinks restaurants to go for an evening night out. There are fun family activities and a Commercial Cafe Starbucks on the second floor. It's a really wonderful place to go for a trip out of all family fun.

Good option to hang out! Food and entertainment all under one roof.

Parked overnight, car park is heated so great for a winter stop over. £17 is a bit steep but seems to be par for the course now in a city centre. The facilities are not what they used to be, some nice restaurants and the cinema is decent but is starting to show its age a bit now.

Lovely place for shopping and every different type of eatery. We visited Nandos and the staff are amazing in there, one in particular, Olivia, you made our evening all the more better. Thanks, Bryan & Ann

Used to be buzzing this place but it’s lacking excitement and entertainment, needs a posh food place too for date nights. Not enough to make you stay in the place, maybe add bowling? Sports bar?

  • 4/5 Michael A. 1 year ago on Google
I've only used the car park recently but it's very convenient and relatively inexpensive. It's also worth noting that it's one of the few city centre carparks to have the height to accommodate higher vehicles.

They have many different films I just seen Thor love and thunder with my friends and it was great staff are helpful and if your not sure about something ask them.

Bars, eateries, Aspers casino, cinema...all under one roof over two sides of a mall and over two floors! Brilliant in the winter rather than pub crawling through the snow, rain and wind in your best kit ☺️👌🏽A very popular venue all through the week, night and day 🙂👌🏽

It's been literally years since I was last here and boy has it gone down hill. Gone was the bustling vibe, lots of people wanting to eat or visit the cinema. Now it was very quiet, lots of empty units and not many people around at all.

Empty of character. A few things to see and do but not much. Feels like a failed mall. If you need shelter from the he rain, have a mooch around for 10mins

Handy for parking access to the shops as well as its own facilities, always clean and lots of choice when it comes to places to eat and drink.

This is a review of Game of Throwing. Superb fun, great stress reliever. Elsie was a great host, giving us hints and tips on technique and even showing us some trick shots. Will come back for the Golden Axe challenge!

The gate feels a bit like the film The Grand Hotel Budapest, its seen its glory days fade but still has character and charm. Make sure you visit before it closes down

  • 3/5 P J. 1 year ago on Google
Nice outside, spacy inside. But it's freezing cold inside. More shops are empty, like on Newcastle centre. Looks like centre and The Gate slowly dying and extra Clean Air Zone it's nail to coffin for it - soon even worst when people cars will be charged for it.

This place is really pretty and is home to a few restaurants and pubs like Pizza Hut and Wetherspoons, there's also a fairly big arcade with a VR area which is amazing.

  • 4/5 Geoff A. 1 year ago on Google
There are quite a few visible security guards on the premises. This centre was a hot-spot for trouble on a weekend. Northumbria were regularly called out here.

Clean & easy to park here .. lots of for the kids a great place to go on a rainy day with kids .. cinema & arcade & food all in one location ...ALSO worth mentioning for families that the cinema is almost half the price than other local cinemas .. when buying a family ticket but also worth mentioning...the nachos are shambolic .. aside from that they have rollover hotdogs pick&mix & a great ice cream parlor I think it's Ben & Jerry's but can't be sure ...there is also a Starbucks inside the cinema too ... The arcade is great fun our kids really loved it there .. we liked the fact you buy cards that are loaded with "tokens" kids had such fun ... The female toilets in the gate were clean - however the men weren't so well maintained.. perhaps using the toilets available in restaurants ect is better than using the venue's ...✌🏼

Quite a small place by that I mean theirs not a lot of shops the pizza hut is nice and the cinema is cool but the best part is the arcade would recommend probably spend maybe an hour in here

  • 3/5 Hilton R. 11 months ago on Google
I gave the three stars mainly because when it opened it had a massive pulsing heart. It had bars, restaurants, casinos, cinemas and nightclubs. The night clubs have been ushered out...many of the restaurants have closed. It doesn't feel like all the units are full. There are some good bars in the place but it has lost its spark massively. The play it safe choices have reduced its appeal. On the plus, bars like MOJO, spoons are good. There is a cinema and a video arcade.

  • 4/5 Andrew D. 11 months ago on Google
Gate was awesome, liking the look everything new opening up and love the new arcade and gaming cafe/lounge, but it was ver confusing about the lift and escalator not being on to get to the cinema before they opened, maybe a sign would have helped, even the gate employee who was very helpful didn't know that there was a movie starting soon that I had booked a ticket for

  • 3/5 Dan B. 10 months ago on Google
Few empty units in there now. Used to be a good place to eat with lots of selection but more just a drinking venue now. Very busy match days
