Just spent two nights here last weekend with the missus and absolutely loved it! What an experience! The historic Lochinvar House itself is so full of old world charm and interesting historic items you can spend hours just taking it all in. From the ornate high ceilings, to the roaring wood fire places and the old furniture and pictures lining the walls it's just an amazing place to be. You could easily lose a few days here in a good book by the fire or wandering the halls or surrounding grounds and not doing too much at all. The highlight of our time at Lochinvar house was definitely Marina, our hostess with the mostess ! She was amazing and made sure, when she wasn't filling our belly's with her epic breakfast, we were content at all times. For being so busy with a house full of guests she always made time for a friendly chat and a laugh. The place could admittedly do with a bit of TLC. Peeling paint, some holes and cracks here and there, and gardens etc that need some investment to bring them back to their former glory. It all seems too big a job for the one caretaker... But for us it was perfect. Already planning on coming back and booking the whole house with some friends. Thanks Marina !

We recently had our bridal party stay here after our wedding in May. The house is a beautiful old home that was originally built in the 1840's. The rooms have a historic, rustic charm that look over the rolling hills. The beds were comfortable and the cooked breakfast was just what we needed the morning after. It was a great place for us all to stay together, sleeping 12 people. The house also came with a large living room complete with pool table and fireplace. It was a great price and we'll definitely be back again.

We had an absolutely fabulous time here. The accommodation was better than anything I could have imagined, with original, authentic rooms in a secluded and peaceful setting. My two friends and I stayed in the cottage (the old servants' quarters) and though I was a little worried about the cold, there were oil heaters in each room and I was plenty warm enough. The service was above and beyond amazing, with one of our fantastic hosts, Georgie, offering to drive us and to and from the wedding we were attending that was 10 minutes down the road. We stayed late and had our breakfast at 10am, but even this wasn't a problem for our hosts, even though all the other guests had left. The main house itself was stunning, a proper old colonial house. We had a fantastic time here, and staying here at Lochnivar House, even for just one night, made our trip to the Hunter so much better. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Cheers!

Lovely old property that has been well maintained, the lovely caretaker will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you’re after, and also cooks an awesome big brekkie!

We stayed in the detached 2 bedroom cottage which was just gorgeous. 5 mins from Pub but we brought our own food for feasting. We were treated to a sneak peak into the main house. Very historic built in 1830 something. Needs some TLC but fantastic location for a large group. Thanks Marina for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommended.
