Unfortunately the value for food isn't here. The view and staff are fantastic. But don't go here for food. I should have known I booked a table for 1230pm for lunch. When I got there after 1200pm early we were the only ones there. The owner of this restaurant needs to visit nearby seafood restaurants and see what he is missing. We won't come back unfortunately unless management change. It's a pity ideal location and if people loved this place it would be packed by lunchtime and it wasn't. Don't rush here. Big changes needed.

I went to the restaurant which was way overpriced for the food. You are basically paying for the view! Which can be seen from the other eateries in the area. I had the seafood chowder and the fish for main. The seafood chowder was lukewarm and it tasted like it was chopped seafood with pure cream there was no seafood flavour or any depth to it, all I could taste was cream! The fish was marlin and it was very dry! I would not recommend it!

Newcastle is a great place to visit to get the beach experience. It is not far from Sydney-- accessible via a 3hr train ride. We recommend the coastal walk in Newcastle. Noah's has a fantastic location. Rooms were a bit dated but the location was great, right by the beach. The hotel looks like it was very nice in its time. We were there to explore Newcastle and did not care about the room being fancy, so it was not a problem. We asked for the highest floor possible within the tier of the room we booked and the staff was accommodating which was very nice! Would recommend for a great location on the water. We did not eat at the restaurant.

We booked the best room, the suite with sea view. 2 nights for around 1000 AUD. According to the reception, they only have one suite. The suite is on the first floor. The "sea view" turned out to be a view of the restaurant canopy. Further back, you can already see the sea. The furnishings are more than outdated. Only the tiny bathroom has been renovated. When we complained that half of the lights were not working, we were promised that they would be sorted out quickly. Nevertheless, nothing happened. The ameneties in the bathroom are not worthy of a suite. There was also no welcome drink or anything similar, which is usual for guests in a suite in many other hotels. All in all, it is definitely not worth the money. Unfortunately not recommendable.

I try to stay here whenever I’m in Newcastle. It’s a really nice spot near the beach. If you feel like treating yourself, pay a little extra for the beach side view room. Definitely calming seeing the waves move. The restaurant has the same beautiful view of the beach but has quite a limited menu with rather slow service.

Further to a recent review I put here regard Noah’s, it is in a great spot and yes the room was nice, but their policies do need to be looked at. I left a large make mirror in the room, I phoned to check on it, and was told housekeeping hadn’t taken anything down to reception. Considering I was still in Newcastle I could of collected it. Turns out housekeeping hadn’t cleaned my room on Sunday, rooms are left till Monday and then my mirror was found. So $30 later My mirror is going to be posted to me. So don’t take no for an answer from them!!!

Couldn't have been better, comfy bed, excellent, well laid out bathroom and brilliant fridge. Service was friendly but efficient and manager was super helpful with my special request. Lastly, surely the best views in the world inclusive of passing Whale Pods.

Updated to Harbour View got a Family Room. That was disappointing. It is not worth having breakfast at Noah. Some items tasted stale. Otherwise, the room was adequate. There are no balcony views at $229 a night. The girls let me store my carry-on before and after check-in. Good view of the beach from the dining room. I think it is better to eat out. Maybe a pub on Scott Street, Grain Store. They do good steaks.

our room had spectacular beach views . close to restaurants, cafes & transport. Great location for walking paths along the coastline. Unfortunately was only here for 1 night ( 2 days) but I highly recommend & would definitely stay again.

Terrible service 28-07-23 I booked a Birthday dinner for my fiancé and our 5 friends. After we sat down and made our decision, we had to flag down the waitstaff who we felt like they were avoiding us, no eye contact no checking up on us or anything. We had to ask them to order drinks, food and menu for dessert, we would’ve understood if the restaurant was busy but at most there were at least 8 people in the restaurant plus our table. The food came an hour later and we were all hungry and unhappy at by this stage. I raised the issue with the Barman, as he was the only person I could find, (unsure of where the others went) The food and drinks were great but for the price we expected the service to be better. We would like to thank the Barman on the night, (sorry we didn’t get his name) he made a ‘off’ menu Passion Fruit Caipiroska for the Birthday Boy which was delicious. He was very apologetic and sympathetic once we raised the issue with him, he was even kind enough to take $60 off our drinks bill which we really appreciated. Overall the view and the food wasn’t enough to make us come back.

Had dinner here. Occasion100th birthday. Service - can't be faulted. View - one of the best in Newcastle. Food - exceptional. If you wood like a venue for a special occasion, NOAH'S on the beach is the place.

Amazing location and very helpful staff. Superb view from our room, perfect for dolphin spotting. Comfortable bed and clean, well equipped bathroom.

We have spent two of our anniversaries here. Great location, straight across from the beach. The rooms are spotless with great views. The staff are so friendly and the restaurant is amazing. Thank you for another great stay.

We stayed here as part of an overnight trip. The view from our room was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast here. The staff were also very pleasant. That is all we enjoyed. The room was rather small. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The bathroom, while recently renovated, poses an injury risk due to sharp corners of tiles to elevate from the shower. Be careful in there! You also can't use the bathroom through the night without either waking up your partner from the light as there's a bathroom window facing the bed; or you wake them up anyway when you run into the shower in the dark. We also had problems with our key card, and had to get another one cut. Thank goodness we weren't pressed on time when this happened. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was incredibly loud, and unable to be turned off. Even with the door shut, and earplugs in, we could still hear it. Heck, we could also hear a function in the lower levels. I'm guessing there is no sound proofing at all in the building. My partner was very unhappy. He didn't think the stay here was worth what we paid for. When we checked out they didn't ask us how our stay was either, which struck me as strange. So in summary; Worst sleep of our lives, not value for money, but the food was good.

Great location, but a bit pricey. Bed comfortable enough, lovely linen. Suite reasonable size with nice balcony overlooking the beach.

  • 5/5 Dean R. 8 months ago on Google
Can’t love this venue more. Just be careful because the undercover parking (included for free mind you) is small for large cars. One of the last places that offer room service. ☺️

I opted for a short getaway from busy Sydney, and I'm convinced I couldn't have picked a better destination! While the first person at the front desk wasn't very welcoming, all the other staff members I encountered were delightful. The breathtaking views, the pleasant weather, and the nearby dining options were all fantastic. Also spotted some 🐬 which was a lovely send-off just before I checked out! I will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Noah’s on the beach. Staff were lovely and specially Chris and the lovely lady who was working in the day shift (sorry didn’t remember the name) thanks for upgrading our room and extending the check out time. Would def stay again!!!!

I went along for a Travel company trade show on a weekend. The food on offer was lovely. The coffee rather weak, in big pots. A good range of tea. The rooms were clean and well set up. The staff were helpful. The front bar area had a great vibe

We had a short break at Newcastle and chose this Hotel because of its location. We were absolutely blown away by the views from our room and the Restaurant. Food and Service was fantastic, our waitress Molly was very friendly and made our experience so much better. We had the stay dine breakfast deal in a high ocean view room, thoroughly recommend this you will not regret it. Food experience 'top notch,' Views even better. We loved the relaxed atmosphere in the Hotel on the Beach and streets too. Well worth a visit if you are looking for a short break.

I came to the Noah’s hotel for the second time and we chose the room in front of the sea, really a unique location. And this is how I met Kimia in the restaurant, who was really polite and very helpful in choosing dinner and in general guided us a lot. From here, I would like to thank this girl and all the authorities. We will definitely come to you again🙏🏻

Fine dining with an amazing view! Mushroom Risotto is a must, it's delectable. You can enjoy the view of Nelson Bay from this restaurant. Ps - Must visit if you love fine dining.

Great location, rooms a little dated but clean and tidy and the view was amazing. We had mid level seaview room. Best view for a hotel in city Newcastle in my opinion

Noah’s is very basic yet charged at the cost of luxury. The decor is outdated with a 1990s aesthetic. The car park is tiny. If you have anything bigger than a compact SUV you will struggle to park. There is no way to turn off the exhaust fan in the bathroom, so if you are someone that likes to sleep in silence, you are out of luck. For the cost, I was extremely underwhelmed. I would not stay again. Location is great though.

Lovely view of the beach, classy soft decor, helpful and friendly staff when one of the drinks didn't taste quite right. The chowder was delicious. Oysters was great. Lamb was good. Meringue was tasty. Bao base was a bit dry, pork was a bit tough, but looked very tempting.

My husband and I had a wedding function here yesterday. The staff were attentive (Jaime was wonderful), food was delicious and the view was perfect for our special occasion. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful place to celebrate our big day. Thank you Noah's.

WE have been staying at Noah's on the Beach for many years and have always enjoyed our experience. The views from the restaurant are superb and the staff are always exceptionally helpful. However, on our recent stay we were disappointed in some aspects of the hotel's facilities. Cracked tiles at the restaurant entrance did not give a good first impression. The furniture in the restaurant itself looked extremely tired and outdated. At breakfast the tables were not set with cutlery, serviettes and plates. Again , very disappointing. Noah's on the Beach has the best position for any hotel in Newcastle. With new hotels opening up in the city center, we hope our favourite hotel will be renovated to keep up with competitors.

Exceeded expectations- for food and service. We shared a 3 tiered seafood platter for 2. Very reasonably priced at $129. Consisted of fresh and grilled seafood with only the chips being fried. I would recommend adding the sourdough with garlic herb butter for the smoked salmon- yum! The service was attentive and professional. Hard to beat the stunning views of Newcastle beach while watching the sun set in air-conditioned comfort.

Made a booking a couple of weeks ahead and were looking forward to a lovely dinner with friends. We called again 1 week prior to our booking to add a couple more people which they happily accommodated. Then the restaurant called us 24 hours before our reservation to say they had to cancel our booking as they had a wedding on. Very poor form!!! How does a wedding suddenly appear in your booking system 1 day ahead??

Neat, clean as you would expect a 4 star hotel. Only criticism was that room service was so short staffed that even getting them on the phone was a long process. The shift supervisor was doing three jobs because of no show staff members, however she did her utmost to cater for me. Kudos to the young lady.

The restaurant staff were unhappy for reasons unknown. We asked if they could seat us at 8pm and the staff at the counter looked at the clock for a good 10 seconds before agreeing to see if they have anything available. After getting seated, we didn’t get any water or menu for fifteen minutes. Had to ask the floor staff to get us those. The pizza we had was not cooked properly and I lost a good amount of skin from the upper part of my mouth. Room was ok but expected more considering the price charged. Only good thing was proximity to the beach and views.

The hotel is placed on the beach, which is amazing. It has a restaurant, that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also the rooms are quite spacious, with very comfortable beds. The staff is super kind as well, you can leave your bags at reception even after check-out and pick them up later. Personally, for the payed price, I would have liked for the mini-bar to be free, or at least to some extent. Also sadly, we did not have a great view over to the beach, but just towards the parking lot of the hotel.

The food was disgusting and bland and the service was super slow. The lamb was cold and dry!! There seemed to be a bit of confusion amongst the staff! The only nice person there was the amazing Heather, a very pleasant bubbly waitress who seemed to enjoy what she does. Extremely warm and pleasant to our daughter too. The one star is for the great view but otherwise not a nice place to spend your money.

Rooms a decent size but very outdated decor and not really worth the money. Dinning in service not available due to function but room service was an option, tried dialing in for room service(decided to do early dinner as we knew there was a function so tried ordering at 5.00pm) with no answer for 1hr. Went down to reception to place order for room service. Upon food being delivered, it was cold and not worth the $120.00. Went to go for a shower and no hot water..... Breakfast was delicious and the gentleman on breakfast service was amazing 👏 👌

Had a lovely lunch at the restaurant. We didn't have a booking but the lady at the reception gladly sat us down with no issues, though wasn't able to get a window seat as they are all booked out for lunch. The food is okay for the price complemented by the stunning view of the beach. Service is okay, though I feel that they were more attentive/friendly with the other guests but this could just be me. Overall great experience.

Fantastic location & family friendly. Overall hotel was a little dated but the beds were comfortable, the view in the ocean rooms were fantastic and the location was 10/10. Would not recommend the buffet breakfast but ok if you’re feeding an army of kids 😂

I had a wonderful time whilst there on Monday 12 September 2022, abate that it was just for one night. Even though I didn't use the restaurant or other services available I found all the staff to be very polite and professional in everything that they did. The overall cleanliness of the internals of the building and room 307 were of a high standard. The balcony view of Newcastle Beach was amazing and quite relaxing. However, (The internal wall between the bathroom and sleeping area in room was in need of some repairs. The wet area sealing in the bathroom has obviously failed and there has been water seepage issues through this wall as there are dimples, bulges and other damage to the dry wall on the bed side of this wall). With the exception of that I would highly recommend this motel and I would most likely use it again.

Attended a wedding the view was spectacular, the hotel room was very average with a noisy fridge that kept us awake all night. Hotel reception was terrible, when I called to make a booking I was on hold for 10 mins only to be greeted by a rude staff member. Wedding guests can get a 20% discount but she wanted to argue it was only 10% and then finally agreed its 20%. Buffet breakfast was actually gross and a rip off. Excellent location but everything else was bad. Room prices are also expensive I would expect more for the price. Overall I wouldn't stay there again. Reception was also rude when you arrive and don't answer the phone if you need to call while in your room. Not the best place I've stayed the only good thing is the beachfront location.

We were on the 6th floor with amazing views of the beach an ocean. The rooms had been recently refurbished with new carpet, paint, everything. Really well located and we enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely fantastic location, friendly staff, good spaces for Car parking, amazing views from our ocean room. Only downfall was the food. Wasn't overall impressed with the quality and price i think this could be improved and it would add to your hotel. Thanks

  • 2/5 Bronwyn G. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely not worth the money. They have updated the rooms since I last stayed here but the service, the food and the lack of attention by management just undermine the beautiful location. Check-in experience was appalling. Staff were obnoxious, rude, belittling. It was like they were doing us a favour just being there. And it wasn't just us. We overheard how they treated an older couple next to us and it was awful. We had booked 2 rooms for 2 adults and three children. While we appreciate interconnecting rooms are not always available, surely somewhere close or even opposite might have been possible. To have physically separated opposite ends of the floor was completely ludicrous. We think in retrospect this was because the booking site had forced an adult to be the named booker of the room and that the same adult couldn't book both rooms. In their systems then the bookings weren't associated with each other. Air conditioning in the room was terrible. Either too hot or too cold. The controller in the room had no markings on it (see picture) so could not be adjusted properly. Made for a very uncomfortable stay! TV didn't work. Turned on but didn't appear to have been tuned. Holes in the towels just topped it all off. Breakfast was pretty ho hum, again just topped off by the coffee machine that was broken and staff that had no idea how to fix it. My advice is skip the hotel breakfast and go to one of the many cafes nearby.

Amazing view from our ocean room. You are literally right over the water. The staff were really helpful and welcoming and LGBT friendly. Recommended hotel to stay at if you are visiting or passing through Newcastle.

I recently stayed at Noah's on the Beach, a hotel located opposite Newcastle Beach in Australia and I was thoroughly impressed. The location was perfect, just steps away from the stunning beach. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, and the views were breathtaking. I highly recommend Noah's on the Beach for anyone looking for a top-notch hotel experience in a prime location. It's the perfect base for exploring the best of Newcastle!

My daughter had her wedding ceremony and reception at Noah’s on the Beach last week and I can’t speak highly enough of this venue. The team led by Rose and later Molly were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and their hard work meant that the wedding and reception went very well. Food was great, set up was great, team was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend to others!
