The food is so tasty… highly recommended.

Pretty groovy drinks and the way they're decorated makes me feel like I'm back in Thailand again. The food here is great and the price is reasonable for what you get. It's in the heart of Beaumont street so if you're they're during lunchtime, it might be worthwhile to pop in for their lunch specials. Staff is also always polite and accommodating, and the food in my experience has never taken long.

Exoctic thai food was the most beautiful dish I have ever tried! Fantastic customer service. The ambience is exceptional. Bring friends and family someday, for sure I wont fail them! Kudos, the Grain family.

The new location is great and the design is much more modern, but they really need to fix the 2-seater tables as they have a terrible wobble. Other than that, the food is as great as ever.

It's nice enough, not amazing though. Dishes were very soupy, not much meat. The duck only had three pieces so not worth the price at all. Beef was slightly better but not by much. Was a little disappointing.

We had a pad see ew and hokkien noodle lunch special and we're surprised to have one of our best Thai meals ever! The vegies in each dish were fresh and the meal was very tasty. Would definitely recommend!

Food was prepared very quickly 10 minutes as takeaway order. Food was sickly sweet and could not even finish the meals, disappointing after hearing plenty of good reviews. There are better authentic Thai restaurants in Newcastle.

I was so looking forward to a tasty satay! Although it looked awesome, sadly, the vegetables were either mushy or raw. The beef was tough, and the sauce bland and unidentifiable. The whole meal was lukewarm temperature wise as well. Giving it a miss in future.

Really disappointed with our experience. Our Table was dirty with a big sticky sauce smear in the middle. How was this missed when the table was set? Asked if prawn spring rolls had mushrooms and as they said no, ordered them, Only to bite into mushrooms which I can't eat. The bowl containing the rice was chipped, not a huge deal if it was one chip, but they were all around the edge. Not the best hygienically with unsealed porcelain edges. Duck special was nice. Pork belly flavours were good, but as they had fried previously cooked pork belly it was super dry. To top it off, waitress didn't come back after clearing mains to ask if we needed anything else and we were going to have more drinks and maybe share dessert. Worst of all.... Waste of a baby sitter. Home by 8.15 🤦🏼‍♀️

Normally a go to for Thai in Newcastle but disappointing tonight. The pad thai was very overcooked, tough chicken and the noodles were almost fried, and the chilli cashewnut stirfry was very oily and missing its usually smokey flavour. Possibly using a new tofu as it was very dense and hard, not like the usual fluffy tofu! Hopefully just a one off. Staff were very friendly.

I have Celiac disease and so needed to order gluten free. There was no suggestion of Gluten Free items on the menu but the man taking my order assured me that most of their items were or could be made gluten free. I ordered the Massaman Curry, and it was a generous serving size and tasted good but it caused a gluten attack and I had a serious allergic reaction to the food. In short this place has big servings of decent food but do not come here if you are sensitive to gluten or have celiac disease.

Service was good. Lighting was very bright, a bit too much when going out for a nice meal. Food was ok. But not mind blowing. Got the pork on green veg and had a lot more colour than green. Was expecting more broccoli.... Also ordered the sizzling seafood special, expecting it to be in a sizzling pot, alas... It came out as a standard seafood dish with mixed veg, much like the pork special we ordered.... Don't get me wrong, the place is nice, people are nice, food is nice.... But I did want a little more out of my night out.

5 Stars all the way 😊 The Grain is now my favourite Thai restaurant, the food was absolutely amazing I can not fault it in anyway. The service was top notch and the pricing was very reasonable. I also loved the atmosphere. The restroom was clean and tidy and there's free parking at the back of the restaurant. Ow I forgot to mention our drinks... $5 for a coke which came out in a big tall fancy glass which probably held about 600 + mls in it decorated with beautiful edible Thai flowers and a large pineapple wedge. 10/10 for presentation. I enjoyed every second of my time at The Grain and would 100% recommend this place to any Thai lover and yes I will most definitely be going back on a regular basis, my aim is to try every meal on the menu 😋 I hope you all enjoy your experience as much as I did. Well set up restaurant with quality food, excellent staff and fairly fast service

Definitely the best Thai food around and generous serves as well. Our favourite restaurant which we frequent regularly and the new premises are lovely, never cramped. It's great to a byo option although their drinks menu is also great. Highly recommended.

Food has definitely lost its more authentic taste that we loved a few years ago. Our chilli basil pork was without spice , without basil and cold. Pineapple fried rice was made with tinned pineapple. Tom yum was like a gravy, not light aromatic and tasty as I remember. Unfortunately a disappointing selection that I couldn’t eat :(

Good meal, service a little lacking. We had to seek staff out several times. Received good service then. Meal good, only I felt that there was hardly any pork in the meal as specified. It was not a lunch special. Will still return as flavours were great

We've been coming to The Grain for years now and they always have delightful curries and fast service. The cocktail I had tonight was delicious too! The new location is nice, although the table top we had was pretty wobbly. Overall though, they're consistently pretty great.

By far the best Thai I have ever had. Their pad Thai is so amazing it’s put me off every other Thai place. 110% recommend!!!

Extremely fast food service, and good flavours. Family especially liked the crispy pork dish. Big open venue. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the food was very salty (which I never usually find is a problem as I’m a salt addict)

I appreciated that they were very accommodating of our need for gluten free and vegan food - tons of options. The tofu was a bit tough though, and it was not the most amazing Thai we've had. But not awful.
