We
found
Tantarra
very
disappointing
from
several
aspects.
I
left
a
phone
message
enquiring
about
where
to
park
on
arrival
–
no
response.
On
arrival
we
found
a
wallet
with
our
name
on
it,
the
key
and
instructions
about
where
to
park.
On
reading
the
“compendium”,
we
read
a
large
paragraph
about
what
to
do
and
what
not
to
do
with
the
toaster
-
but
there
was
no
toaster!
Sent
sms
requesting
a
toaster
and
a
dishcloth
to
wipe
down
the
benchtop.
Again
–
no
response,
so
I
left
a
note
on
the
used
breakfast
tray
that
was
to
be
collected
the
following
day
and
a
toaster
and
dishcloth
miraculously
appeared!
We
were
required
to
advise
Serena
that
we
had
arrived
at
the
B&B.
This
we
did.
Again
–
no
response.
All
Serena
had
to
do
was
reply
with
a
thank
you
for
letting
her
know
we’d
arrived,
as
requested,
and
wishing
us
a
pleasant
stay.
Simple.
Have
read
through
the
reviews
and
noted
with
some
wry
amusement
that
several
comments
were
that
“Serena”
was
invisible.
Can
only
agree.
One
review
described
the
bath
in
Shambala
as
“grotty”,
to
which
was
received
a
very
defensive
reply.
The
bath
was
badly
stained
and
chipped
and
certainly
warrants
the
description
of
“grotty”
–
but
it
was
clean.
Overall,
Shambala
was
spacious,
the
bed
comfortable
but
the
general
appearance
of
this
apartment
was
“shabby
chic”.
And
what
on
earth
is
an
old
Underwood
typewriter
doing
in
a
Balinese
inspired
room?????
Tantarra
B&B
is
obviously
in
the
hospitality
industry
but
sadly
we
found
no
hospitality
whatsoever.
In
fact,
we
have
travelled
all
over
Europe,
USA
and
Australia,
and
have
never
been
treated
so
shabbily,
or
made
to
feel
so
unwelcome.
We
were
there
for
a
three–night
stay
and
did
not
see
a
single
soul.
Breakfast
was
also
disappointing,
consisting
of
a
bulk-bought
yoghurt,
bulk-bought
fruit
in
a
carton
and
one-day
old
Bakers
Delight
produce.
The
photo
of
the
very
uncomfortable
daybed/settee
on
the
website
was
covered
by
a
filthy
old
floor
mat
-
which
stunk
and
was
covered
in
hairs.
I
realised
on
further
investigation
that
the
“white”
cover
on
the
daybed
was
badly
stained,
but
turned
over
the
old
mat
to
the
other
side,
which
was
much
cleaner.
It
certainly
had
a
dog
smell
to
it,
which
I
guess
is
what
you
have
to
expect
in
a
dog-friendly
B&B.
On
our
last
night,
we
were
left
with
about
one
inch
of
fresh
milk
and
went
to
the
shops
to
buy
our
own,
as
clearly
no
response
to
a
text
would
have
been
received.
.
Serena’s
response
to
any
criticism
is
a
heavily
veiled
sarcastic
“I’m
sorry
you
didn’t
like
…………”
and
I
have
no
doubt
that
this
review
will
be
treated
in
the
same
way.
It
seems
that
Tantarra’s
philosophy
is
“we’ve
got
your
money
–
so
just
suck
it
up.”
We
will
NOT
be
returning
