Right I know Russia and Ukraine are going at it however. The state of my pigs in blankets were disgusting. Ever seen a pig swimming in oil well look no further. I would recommend going to Ukraine for a more pleasant meal .

Nice place for a good carvery. Prices not too bad. Only negative point for us was that my granddaughter picked chicken nuggets from the kids menu and they don't serve chips! I suppose cucumber sticks more healthy ☺️

Nice and quiet at the time we had our carvery , pork was extremely tasty, desert amazing. Another lunch at Toby carvery, Talke. This time the vegetables were not as hot as the previous visits. But still tasty. Seasonal crumble with custard, excellent.

The TOBY app is very useful & also the promotions very good! Meet n Greet are always prompt to attend to you on arrival, Carvery is almost always our No1 choice. However some of the joint hot plates appear to be turned off (to avoid over cooking them I guess) but SHOULD be HOT! A minor issue really.

Terrible meal. We got sat in a walk way on a table that isn't child friendly. We ask if there was another table as the place was half empty. We got an attitude of we were inconvenient him and was offered a different table in the bar area even less child friendly. So we were stuck in the walk way and because we had asked to move we were not offered drinks till we were halfway through the meal. After being bump into constant through out the meal we left as soon as we could. That's the last time we will eat there.

The staff are very friendly and the food was tasty. On the other hand the service was slightly slow with a queue of people starting to build at the door before staff even noticed as well as it taking a while for drinks to arrive at the table. As you walk in there is also a group of just eat drivers lingering around the entrance making the restaurant experience more like that of a takeaway place. They completely ran out of beef which seemed a little bit unorganised and ill-equipped considering it is a carvery after all. Furthermore the restaurant was decently quiet yet everyone was seated right next to each other which took away from the peaceful atmosphere as you walk in. Other than that it was a good experience but I would not rate this as one of the best carveries.

We used to use this place quite a lot a few years ago. But we had had a few not so great meals. So we hadn't been here for a number of years. So we thought it was time we gave it another try. Happy we did. Our small group enjoyed our food. Few bits weren't perfect but on the whole it was good and we will be back again for more.

The food from the carvery was quite good, apart from the parsnips, which were over cooked to the point they were rock hard and crunchy. The food on the carvery station was nice and hot but the gravy was only just warm, but it was tasty. The staff were great, and very pleasant.

Good food which doesn't look like it's been there for 24 hours like some do. Friendly staff. Just a 3 star for service because they forgot about our non carvery food items and we had to wait longer than normal. Decent tables which aren't too squashed together. I've been in a few Toby Carverys and this is one of the best I've been in.

Went here today, and the service was slow and no atmosphere at all like a grave yard. There’s more life in there Food was so bad like it had been there for hours, peas were like marbles and the yorkshires were like eating a cardboard box. And the roast potatoes were that hard a could hardly swallow them good job I had a refill on my drink to wash it down or it would have got stuck down my throat. I would of put a zero star but unfortunately could only give a 1 star Very disappointed I won’t be going again

At this venue - ordered pigs in blankets on arrival. Went for the carvery. Disappointed for the first time visiting Toby (first visit to Talke Toby). Only choice was beef and turkey, there was no stuffing left. We ate our carvery and when plates were empty then our pigs in blankets arrived about 45 mins later.

I took my 3 children, plus their friend for a Sunday carvery. Even though we didn't have a table booked, we were still given a table to accommodate the 5 of us. The food always tastes amazing, and I love the size of the Yorkshire puddings 🍮. The kids always finish a full plate which is crammed full with food. To My surprise they even had room for a Chocolate Heaven pudding. I would much prefer to pay the price for a carvery and know that the kids have eaten a nutritional meal. Staff always friendly and polite. Nothing too much trouble. Eating area was clean and tidy. We had our table wiped down before we sat down ready to order.

The food was excellent - lots of choice of veg and all beautifully cooked. The surroundings were clean, comfortable, well presented and welcoming. The waitress was very good and brought our water in very nice large glasses with ice. All very good value for money to boot!

had the carvery today for 2 had the standard carvery with 2 halves of shandy £33 for horrible food. The meal was cold and the beef and lamb were tough, veg was poor and under cooked. Will never go again

Always enjoyed coming here for a Carvery. Great food and service with a smile. Just getting a little expensive now so don't go as often as we used to.

Food was all great. The staff let the experience down. Leading us to a table as far away as possible from the entrance (my grandmother needs assistance with walking and has dementia) Not returning to take orders. Drinks served in dirty glasses. Left us not knowing how to order. No one came to take our plates and ask if we wanted to pay. Left waiting and even had my 90 year old grandad walking around looking for someone to pay before we left.

Drove up here for work then stopped at the Toby carvery for lunch. It was bloody lovely good choice of meats and cooked beautifully, few different types of veg and potatoes. Huge Yorkshire puddings too. Definitely worth the drive will be back again. Service was fantastic wasn't left standing around at all and gave us a window seat as requested. All staff polite, well mannered and engaged well. Thank you for a pleasant experience 😊

Lovely carvery with lots of choice. Always a great atmosphere and the staff are all pleasant and friendly. Love getting our Sunday roast

We had a very nice carvery meal today. Meat and vegetables nicely presented, not all dried up like you sometimes get. The staff were helpful with a smile. Pleased we stopped by.

Beef was stringy and chewy. I left most of it as it was not nice. The vegetables were lukewarm and not hot. Aside from roast potatoes there was only soggy carrots, chewy peas and mashed up cauliflower cheese by way of vegetables to go with the meal. Two stars as the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were fine. At £13.50 each I'd hoped it would be a bit better to be honest.

Love the carvery and there were giant Yorkshire puds. Staff went the extra mile and put candles in the ice cream for my mum's birthday. As a bank holiday was an extra charge but still value for money.

Just off A34, with a car park, this is a busy restaurant. Most people head straight for the carvery, with selection of roasted meat and vegetables. Food was good, although it’s more expensive at the weekend. Some slight downsides, the car park was partially flooded (we have had a lot of rain), with what looked like an abandoned car with smashed up windows. Also some of the decor looks like it could do with a spruce up, the seat we were on was held together with tape. Also they seemed short staffed, once we sat down no-one came over to see if we needed anything, or if our food was ok.

Went here for my sister’s birthday dinner Excellent food and service as usual. Very nice choice of meats and plenty of vegetables to choose from. The only problem was a table of Eastern Europeans shouting at each other on the next table, couldn’t hear myself think and killed any conversation on our table, apart from that happy to recommend.

We have had a family breakfast here today for 7 people and have really enjoyed it. They said we could push any of the tables together so we would sit together and couldn't have been anymore helpful. Their customer service was spot on and the food was amazing too. All really fresh and tasted beautiful. One of the guests was vegetarian aswell and they made her vegetarian sausages and scrambled eggs when we asked them to. They really were fantastic.

The carvery was really good and probably the best one I've had. All the meat was nice and the vegetables were good too. The service was good. Only lost a star as had no ice cream or cream for dessert, only custard.

The food is very tasty and the staff are very friendly. It's the perfect place for a family get together. We have visited here quite a few times now and it never disappoints.

Had a promotion voucher 50% off main meal. Very busy, but excellent service at the Carvery, fresh vegetables nice choice of meats along with good choice of condiments. Enjoyed the evening along with friends. Worth a good value visit.

Lovely food, veggie sausages came out fairly quick. Only issue is that my colleague who I was with had to wait 25 minutes for breakfast meat. Also there was milk spilt all over the coffee area and no one seemed bothered to clean it up.

A table for 3. We waited a few minutes to be seated and our drink order was taken. We then went to the carvery. Absolutely delicious. A choice of turkey, beef, gammon and pork. Yorkshire pudding and a great choice of vegetables mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, garden peas, sprouts, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and carrots. Choice of gravy and assorted condiments. We ordered a side of pigs in blankets which was brought to our table. Well worth a visit. It cost £7.99 in the week but at the weekend it is a little bit more.

Friendly staff, very helpful. A comfy yet roomy environment with plenty of parking spaces. The Carvery was perfect as for the cost side, I paid £62 for 4 adult meals, 2 side portions of pigs ‘n’ blankets that we shared, 1 dessert and 4 soft drinks, so I thought it was a reasonable bill. We will definitely go again.

Great venue, fantastic staff but its carvery food. Carvery food is always going to be worse than what you cook at home. Really nice place though.

Had my first carvery take away today, didn't have time to make a Sunday lunch but really fancied one, didn't know what to expect but it was absolutely gorgeous, gravy comes in separate pots, cauliflower cheese comes in separate pots, perfect portion sizes, food was ready for collection time and was still hot when I got it home. Very happy with it. Will be ordering from there again.

Nice food. Pleased the gravy wasn’t lumpy on this occasion. Friendly staff. Kitchen door left open let me see the floor being cleaned, glad it was but detracted from the dining ambience a bit.

Collected 4 Sunday roasts which were excellent. Plenty of meat (in the non-vegetarian options), vegetables and a huge yorkie. Was even helped to the car with one package by a friendly, helpful member of staff. Many thanks for that. Would recommend most highly.

The food was great, in spite of not being a meat eater the carvery veggies and vegan gravy were amazing, the staff incredibly polite and helpful. The thing that let my visit down was that the chef took a while to come out of the kitchen to serve us, and I'm always uncomfortable walking through a diner with my own plate of food, it always feels a bit school dinner hall ish.

Called here with three other people, we couldn't find fault, the roast/carvery was delicious, veg were cooked well and not overcooked and the four meats just melted , everything was hot. We found the staff really friendly and smiley, I hope we get to eat there again soon.

  • 4/5 stephanie g. 10 months ago on Google
The carvery was beautiful, everything was perfectly cooked, a nice selection of vegetables, lovely large Yorkshire puddings, 4 meats to choose from. Quite a nice atmosphere, had to wait 20 mins though, but was told this before ordering our food, as maintenance was being done. Probably a good thing as it meant everything was freshly served and we were the first to be told we can go for carvery now.

We are out of the area and called in, we had missed breakfast but stayed for lunch starting at 12. The food was fabulous. Last week we visited a local carvery to us and was a different company, but this one outdid our local one by a mile. I particularly wanted to compliment Colin who met us and showed us to a table. What a pleasant friendly and polite young man he was. Also, Steve (kitchen) who carved the meat. He was chatty and pleasant, just the opposite of the carver at our local last week. When we asked at the bar what his name was, we were told he had been in work since 330am! I was astounded how friendly he was because he must have been exhausted. Overall a fabulous experience and a really a pleasure to be served by such lovely staff

Went for a carvery at 6pm yesterday nearly all the bowls were empty or you had to scrape up the dregs . i had to ask for some to be refilled and was informed that they had ran out of some items even though they serve food until 10pm .Service was very slow even though the place was quiet, most of the staff seemed as though they didn't want to be their and you were an inconvenience. Not all are like this and i used to attend pretty regular but this has completely put me off.On my birthday as well

  • 3/5 Clare J. 1 year ago on Google
Good was great, loads of choice! We had long size and the portions were amazing. But, dofficulr to order any more drinks without having to leave the table and we were sat right by the kitchen so I had to leave most of my food as the place was far too hot to stand being in

  • 5/5 R H. 1 year ago on Google
A local, and fantastic carvery with very friendly staff! Couldn't compliment the overall experience any more. We ended up tipping about 20% because we were over the moon. As a wider chain, I would suggest more diversification into more suited vegetarian options - maybe like Seitan or Quorn roast would be much better than the roasted vegetable pie etc (which does feel odd at a carvery)

Sunday carvery . Spot on. We are 2 vegans. They cooked our food and let us know when it was ready then told us what didn't have butter in the veg. Great service

  • 5/5 Katie E. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly and efficient service. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable and helped us by explaining allergens in the food. Ordered from the menu (vegan mushroom pie) and food came promptly to veg deck where we could add our own veg and sauces. Really nice relaxed and filling meal for a good price!

Buffet breakfast is good. Wide range of items to choose from. Friendly helpful staff. Tables nicely spaced out. WC ladies could be a bit nicer as it's very dated but clean and functional.

  • 5/5 Lee M. 1 year ago on Google
Fantastic service. I'm disabled so can't use my left arm. Charlie was brilliant, sorted a decaffeinated coffee for me, buttered my toast and was generally ace. , but all staff fantastic and a credit to the company and themselves

As a family this is our go too place for a carvery. Has a great atmosphere, lovely and calm. All the food is lovely and not overly priced. And the staff are very polite and helpful can't ask for more really. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting try somewhere new for food, well worth it.

Myself and my child visit the Caudwell Tavern a few times a year, and come here each year for Christmas lunch. The staff, service, and the food are always perfect. Staff always work hard to ensure that the service is faultless, and all standards are met. Thank you all.
