We booked a room for our wedding night and was quoted £135, they took are bank details and confirmed it was booked. We then received a call a few days later saying that we had to book for a minimum of 2 nights that weekend but as its our wedding night they will allow us to have one night at over £200!!! Fair to say we are now looking elsewhere. Disgusting

Very happy to give 5 stars but parking can be a challenge although there is parking at the back but limited spaces. However parking aside, this Hotel is excellent with staff that are very friendly and can not do enough for you. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean, with all expected amenities including Kettle, TV, WiFi and hair dryer for example and they have a great Bar and amazing full English breakfast. The night Porter is very chatty and entertaining with a great sense of humour. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone wishing to stay near Milton Keynes as it is very close, located about 7 miles away in Newport Pagnal which is a lovely little town. I am a regular visitor and have stayed many times now due to my job. Thank you for making me feel so welcome. Kind regards and keep up the fantastic service.

We always stay here, worth paying a little extra for the bigger room. Breakfast is good, but wish they did fried eggs...on a plus, normal sausages.. Nice friendly staff..

Really lovely hotel! Living locally, I have used this hotel for lots of events over recent years, as well as regularly dining here and meeting friends for coffee. I have to say, it never disappoints. The decor and ambience in the public areas is lovely and the staff are efficient and welcoming. Post-Pandemic, they have adopted a more relaxed approach to dining and have several areas in which to sit and eat, including the cosy, wood-panelled lounge which is my favourite. Recently, I held my husbands funeral (120 guests) here and everything was well organised and ran smoothly. The cakes - which are all homemade - were a huge hit and I received lots of compliments about them and all of the food they provided. I’d definitely recommend The Swan Revived to anyone.

We had booked 2 tables of 10 for a family members 90th birthday. The service was brilliant, the ladies serving food for the group and serving beverages on the bar were wonderful and the prices were decent. When receiving the food the appearance was good. However, the ‘fresh’ vegetables were probably a bit too fresh, cold, raw and not steamed. This could have been intentional but personally the guests of the gathering would have enjoyed it more if the veggies were steamed. All in all, good place to hold a get together and family gatherings, 8/10 :)

The WORST hotel experience I’ve ever had. We had a list of issues during our stay; dirty room, lumpy and springy bed, stained sheets and towels. Reception staff was rude and unhelpful with the exception of one guy. The electricity blew up our straighteners while we were getting ready to attend a wedding. We were left with no electricity in the room with no help of the staff, having to sort out a different place to get ready ourselves. Maintenance was not sent to our room, neither did the staff even bother to come up to check what had happened. All we got was an eye roll and that was that. We spend our whole second night and day without working plugs in our room and we’re urged by the one decent staff member to return in the morning to sort out some form of compensation. The compensation was agreed to, but once we actually returned with our card we were suddenly told that we would not be refunded because WE USED THE STRAIGHTENERS WHILE IT HAPPENED. I really struggle to understand how it would be our fault the electricity went by us using very basic hairstyling tools. Horrible horrible service, the room was filthy and faulty, the hotel stinks and if you do stay please do be aware that you are not actually supposed to use the plugs. Because they might explode your items and you will be blamed for it. Sincerely hope they will notice this review because my emails have gone unanswered.

Lovely place, rooms very nice. It is very historic inside with a good selection of food and booze. Little carpark at the back but larger one right behind. Ideal place to go for a walk along the main street. The only downside was that other patrons not respecting other people who were sleeping, been very loud, and door slamming.

I did like this quaint hotel, old building with loads of history, service was excellent, we arrived late but kitchen still prepared us a meal, really good quality hamburger and chips and we ate in our room cause there was a party in the bar, we requested a addition fan, it was very hot and humid, pet friendly at no additional charge, and a lovely walk just behind hotel to the canal. Good stop for an business trip .

Part of a large party of 49. 3 courses took over 2 hours to be served, Every course was not hot enough, but the flavours were OK. It was much too expensive for the delivered quality. Hotel itself is characterful and verbally located.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel, room was really big, clean and cosy, had all that we needed and Holly at reception made our stay seamless and stress free, just what we needed. She's a great asset to the place and looking forward to staying again the next time we are in the area :)

Historic hotel in Newport Pagnell town centre. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, friendly service and a popular bar with a reasonable selection of ales. The hotel car park is very small but there are several long and short stay car parks close by.

Popped in for lunch while in Newport pagnell. Lovely restaurant and service. Both the poached eggs on toast and the full English were wonderful.

We often eat in the restaurant here or outside. Plenty of dog friendly covered / shaded space outside. The food is enjoyable and well cooked from a varied largely pub grub style menu.

Pleasant staff and very welcoming. The hotel had a quite old outlook to it which was quite nice! Great location for car park. The breakfast does not mirror the menu at all. We are vegetarians and we were not given an option for a vegetarian breakfast at all , when sat at the table the menu listed vegetarian options as well gluten free etc we were not offered /asked about it. I asked if they did fried egg instead of scrambled. I was told whatever is out that's what they have. Funny because the menu states we can choose how we would like our egg. During our booking , the lady also stated we can order breakfast from the menu. We just feel the hotel should not communicate wrong messages to their customers.

We booked this for a 90th bday celebration and the staff were very efficient, obliging and contributed a lot to the success. Catering really good. We stayed over night and whilst decor and the quirkiness of an old listed coaching inn might deter someone used to high end accommodation, the room was spacious, very clean and bed very comfortable. Price per room inclusive of a high quality breakfast is very very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

We went for Christmas shopping so had 3 nights. On arrival we was given a room in the annex which sadly did not meet our expectations and spoke to reception who allocated us another room which was so much better and we very much appreciated it Housekeeping need to pay a bit more attention to detail when it comes to dusting especially behind furniture and windows but overall it was clean especially the bathroom Breakfast and dinner in the evening were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. A very good choice and service, beautiful room to eat in and so much to take in Staff were so very helpful and nothing was too much Hotel needs a bit of cosmetic work but it is a hotel with a history and character and we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and would not hesitate to stay again and will recommend it

We really appreciated the lovely ambience of the bar and dining room. The staff were lovely and very friendly. We had a family meal, 7 very picky adults and all their tastes were accomadated. Food very good, hot and served promptly . They have a very good selection of gin. Over the past 17 years we have stayed in about a dozen locations around Milton Keynes and this was the best!

Lovely atmosphere. Clean rooms. Old world character. Super pub and outside area. Polite and pleasant staff, accomodating our family group requests. It is our hotel of choice for family functions. This is the second time our large family have used the Swan to overnight for the family occasion. We have had such fun! We love the Swan.

Stopped for a quick lunch on Sunday. Had the dog with us. The bar was pleasant, staff friendly and food was good. There is an outdoor area that seemed pleasant, nice when it gets a bit warmer. Close to the river and shops, very pleasant.

Fabulous little hotel, wouldn't be the most modern hotel. But it is extremely friendly, clean, tidy and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Booked overnight stay for friend's local wedding. Very easy to book, and check in - nice friendly welcome. 2nd floor to so lift was very handy. Venue is a main street, old coaching house style pub - despite a Saturday night had an undisturbed sleep. Rooms & beds comfy, excellent breakfast & good value. Parking a bit challenging, as only 5 spaces behind pub, though access via 40-50 space Library car park free weekends after 5pm Saturday.
