Sports Direct need to make people aware of returns/exchange policy before purchases are made. Staff unhelpful. Manager dismissive & the other staff member was new, so unable to help. Told to get a credit note or rebuy online, which meant waiting longer for the product & spending an extra £5 on delivery. Long queues. Never answer the phone! Luckily I contacted Sports Direct Maesglas who were helpful & professional and located my item in another store, then went to Cardiff to exchange item & they were also helpful.

A large store in a convenient location with good quantities of sporting equipment competitively priced.

I was member of puregym but i switch to SD gym and im really happy. Nice big gym whit lots of equipments for everyone ;) also clean and for very good price !

Absolutely pains me to go here. Got myself a nice pair of trainers but as usual it's absolutely impossible to pay within 15mins. Today was the worst for a while, huge queue, screaming baby (my own), only one on till while the person on the other till folded clothes whilst avoiding eye contact with everyone opening moaning how long it's taking to pay.

Bad customer service. The staff said they don't have enough time.

I visited first time at this place and one of the staff member was really rude he was not even guiding me to have my shoe number

Had to pop in again 2nd time in a week and buy my 2 youngest granddaughters the quietest coats ever from frozen. Xx

I bought shoes online, but the product is defective. I went to the nearest Sports Direct store in Newport 12 Commercial St on Monday 23/10/2023 at 11.00 a.m. to receive information how to return the goods. I didn't have the boots with me because I haven`t wanted to return them in the store. I just needed information . The lady with the blonde hair informed me that I can to return item in this store. I said that bought it online. The lady confirmed that it`s not a problem. I came back with the shoes 30 minutes later, but then the lady's colleague (red hair) informed me that the boots should be returned online. I didn't get the information I needed and wasted my time. Why do the staff at Sports Direct at Newport 12 Commestial St. make a customers wrong, don't provide professional information and don't introduce themselves. I asked politely employees to introduce themselves but they refused. This is degrading and contemptuous treatment for me.

I bought a pair of Nike shoes a few days ago because they are very dangerous when exposed to water. I took them to return today and the front desk staff actually said that I have already worn them and cannot return them. I just tried them on and cannot return them. The return service is so rubbish. Don’t expect others to be there in the future. Buy your stuff.

Bought 2 pairs of tracksuit bottoms for my son, asked a member of staff for size took them home they were too big so went to take them back within 7 days and couldn't get a refund had to have a credit note. Not impressed

Sadly an unpleasant experience today. Waited roughly 10 minutes to be served (looking for new trainers) and the assistant was not helpful in the slightest. I ended up walking out of the place with no intention of going back. The shop isn't always this poor but it's never the best shopping experience.

Huge store. Loads of great priced footwear. Helpful staff.

I like it. Everything you need. Toilets and 3 shower cubicles are clean, plenty of lockers and space . Helpful staff, they have someone ready to offer advice. Depends what you're looking for in a gym. Cheap clean, good location, classes available, manager is great.... I like it 💪💪💪keep fit people 🤘🤘

Today,9/03/2023, my wife and I stopped in to buy a yoga mat.When we got to checkout, there was a lady in front of us, waiting to be served. After about 30 seconds , the young assistant at the counter stopped doing what she was doing and served the lady. There were two tills. At the time, there were five people behind the counter. They were sorting, or maybe pricing what appeared to be small items of stock. They were aware that we were waiting, but made no effort to serve us. Instead, we had to wait until the young assistant was finished with the first customer, before we were dealt with. I was in retail, with my Father in law back in the 70's and 80's and my training taught me to drop all stock management and serve the customer first. The customer is guaranteed money in the till. The stock can be dealt with any time during the quieter spells, when there are no customers waiting. I'm surprised that your company doesn't teach this one fundamental lesson to your staff members. Otherwise, you are likely to lose sales. All in all, not a great shoping experience. Sorry.

Very nice gym all the equipment you need is there. Very nice staff also helpful. The bad side of this gym is only that there is no parking space.

This sports direct in newport is VERY big. They sell all types of sportswear and other things like Jean's, coats, perfume, belts etc. They do have some good bargains on there. However, I think their trainers are lacking that WOW factor...to me it's like their selling the branded trainers that the likes of JD Sports dont want to sell. That's just my own opinion. As for sportswear I think they have a great range of that...under armour, nike, adidas so on and so forth. They also sell these at reasonable prices.

Good gym, plenty of equipment, only negative is theres no windows, however its only 5 pound a month subscription, well worth joining

Lovely friendly atmosphere. I dont like going to gyms but staff have made me feel welcome & always ready to answer any questions. You can book classes online which is great! Always clean & tidy.

Warm and friendly staff tones of different styles and colours, plenty of room to get around. Always Staff for advice and support. The best thing about the staff is they don't hassle anyone but always on hand to serve you. Excellent all round 👏

The studio space here is great and available to use when there is not a class taking place. The gym has all the necessary resistance, weights and cardio machines you would need, and enough free weights as well. For 10 quid a month it's a great gym to go to. The staff are always friendly and its kept clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.
