Fabulous pub with amazing views over the harbour. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Dog and family friendly. The food looked delicious and service was excellent. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back for another drink and bite to eat

Really great place, nice and spacious, friendly staff, real ales, camera discount. Over looking the sea. Amazing. I love it. Everyone should give it a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. Really enjoyed my visit.

Lively bar with excellent rosta of real ales, super friendly staff, tasty food served very promptly. Remove those parking spaces out the front that block the view and add a beer terrace, the vast majority of punters are arriving on foot

Very nice clean pub serving food, good selection of beers, largers and cider friendly staff and helpful live music and quiz on different nights of the week! My only issue i had was as myself and friends was drinking the guest cider in the box, it needs shaking now and then as it normally is served cloudy but when a new box had been put on I had 1 pint cloudy and 1 pint clear i tried to change the clear pint and explained why! but the young boy behind the bar kept telling me they are from the same box, I said yes I know they are from the same box and again tried to explain but he was not having none of it! So gave up trying- then again what do I know iv only been drinking different ciders the last 37 years? But otherwise great place nice staff definitely recommend and will go back.

Great little pub a few minutes walk from where we was staying, it was recommended by both Google and the place we are staying as a good pub which is also dog friendly. On arrival it both inside and outside look like your average pub & grub boozer. Find a table and order at the bar, there is an app on the back of the menu but I couldn't find how to order on the app after making an account, only how to book a table. Bar staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on both food and drink side. The table staff was also friendly and even greeted the dog. The meal was great, no complaints, all fresh, hot and delicious. Very good portion sizes. I had prawn starter & steak an chips and my partner had chicken skewers & hunters chicken. Only downside is the pub is a very big drinking pub and it got a little bit too loud at one time but not the pubs fault, happy to see places like this supported and busy. Will visit again next time we come down to Newquay.

Easily the best pie and mash I've ever had. Me and my boyfriend visited back in April and I still dream about that pie. I would travel back to Cornwall for that pie alone. Also the staff were friendly and accommodating and the general vibe was great

Such a lovely venue and delicious food! Reasonably priced, and excellent service. All staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful! We had a table booked but arrived about 30mins early. I would highly recommend booking in advance to ensure you get seated. I don't think the photos show how beautifully decorated the pub was for Christmas! We will be revisiting soon.

Great place to top up your fluids on a hot day and before heading to Fistral beach. Friendly staff, loads of choices and lots of interesting artifacts about Cornwalls mining history.

I've been going to the Red Lion for over 20 years. Still in my opinion the best steak in Newquay. I live around 45 minutes from Newquay and gladly drive down the A30 just to have dinner here. Never been disappointed with this place. The view over the harbour is amazing.

2nd visit to this pub after trying their excellent sandwiches last month. Today we both had Sunday roasts and they were lovely. My wife had the lamb shank and I went for the Turkey. The food was extremely tasty and the vegetables weren’t over cooked, everything was perfect. It gets busy so I would advise booking a table as we did.

Dog friendly pub. Friendly, enthusiastic staff. Had the Sunday roast-choice of meat. Had turkey, plenty of food. It was so nice we booked again for the following Sunday evening-no turkey left so had mushroom Wellington which was equally as nice! Also, Lovely rhubarb & ginger/apple & salted caramel crumbles and custard or ice cream!Lovely sea views.

Would give more stars if i could, 10/10 place and food! Views are amazing from the window seats, restaurant has a really comforting feel to it, the staff were so lovely and helpful. I ordered the smothered chicken burger, my partner had the cod and chips, and shared some onion rings. Everything was cooked perfectly, tasted amazing. Will definitely come again if we’re ever back in Cornwall.

Staff really didn't want us there. Arrived at 8:45 - kitchen closes at 9 and they made us feel pretty bad about even asking to order. Food then came - burger and chips were burnt and cold (must have been the left overs from earlier). Pasta was dried out. We didn't dare mention it or ask for it be replaced. The venue is really nice and in great spot.

One of the best roast dinners around at a very reasonable price! Two of us both had a roast dinner one roast beef and one triple beef, turkey and pork with an extra side of pigs in blankets. Proper food and a cracking choice of ales! Would recommend to anyone!

We decided to try The Red Lion for dinner on our last night of our holiday (14/05/23) in beautiful Cornwall which turned into a Sunday Roast when we discovered they do them upon turning up for me and my mum. Delicious roasts that had more flavour than another well known Carvery chain. My brother and my dad ordered off the normal menu and both was satsified with their food (fish & chips and pie & mash). We were served by the lovely Ollie which was kind, attentive, and a bit dishy himself if I must say so. 😍 The manager which I can't re call her name was very pleasant too. Definitely will be back upon my next trip to Cornwall for another Sunday roast! Keep up the good work guys! 😊 Top tip: Go as early as you can to avoid disappointment. As we went for 7:30pm and already run out of turkey and gammon I believe.

Very nice pub. Friendly atmosphere tool part in a free pub quiz while I was there with my wife and son. Good choice of beers and food, although I didn't eat whilst there. Great location beach view as you cross the road outside the pub. There are limited outside tables at the rear of the pub. I would recommend a visit.

We spent Friday and Saturday evenings here in very early January, drinking a decent selection of ale and gins full of fruit. Great bands both nights - especially the infectious Dew Barf who created a fabulous atmosphere in a large pub. Lovely, friendly staff (plenty of), a great mixture of ages and abilities (my dad dancing overshadowed by the guy in the wheelchair🙄) - highly recommended!
