We went for the advertised stone baked pizza, but they were really poor. The pizza bases were out of a packet cooked in an electric pizza oven rather than being properly stone baked, and there was far too much cheese put on the pizzas resulting in incredibly greasy pizza. Two of the three pizzas were also undercooked with the pizza bases still quite raw. Very poor and the pizzas were not cheap compared with other better options locally.

Excellent beach to go to! On a gorgeous Summers day there was no clouds in the sky, it was absolutely gorgeous. Water was a bit chilly but once we got used to it it was amazing. Great sand, great beach, and an awesome restaurant/bar that is super family friendly. It isn’t open on the weekends but if you’re gong to Cornwall you MUST come here. Water is crystal clear and there are caves to explore. Great place to bring your dogs for a swim too! He best beach we’ve been to in New Key. Amazing. Absolutely stunning. The sand is warm, and you can sunbathe on the rocks while listening to the waves going in and out. A must see in Cornwall. ?

What a beautiful hidden gem this place is. We came to watch the sunset last night and loved it so much we returned again tonight. Tonight we opted to have pizza and were served by a lovely Northern bloke. The pizza was simply delicious and cheaper than a standard pizza from a local take away. If you're looking for an evening snack whilst watching the sunset, away from the hustle and bustle, this is the perfect spot.

Been here a few times, the last one for a weekend wedding. Absolutely brilliant. Really nice space to spend time. As one would expect of it's location there are some limitations on food and drinks but what is available is to a high standard and served with a smile. Really enjoyed both visits here and definitely on the list of we go back to Newquay.

The beach was nice (privately owned) and the Lusty Glaze Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. Didn’t eat here but had the Orange hot chocolate (best in Cornwall)

We stumbled across this place when I was searching online for beaches to visit while on our stay nearby and I’m so glad I did. We went to one of their Sundowner Sessions, where we got to watch the sunset, enjoy some drinks and a pizza, with a local singer performing, all inside the most beautiful little cove. It was honestly a perfect night. Be warned though, it’s not easily accessible and is down a very steep flight of longs steps and you then need to walk back up them. The pay and display car park is also quite expensive. But I wouldn’t let this put you off and next time we return to Cornwall, we’ll also be making sure we visit here again.

Very Poor! We wanted to have a drink and a lunch after a long walk in the sun on a very hot day. According to the Homepage the Restaurant was open. No indication of closure on the sign at the parking lot. After going down the very steep stairs we were told the place was closed, there was only one counter to the beach and we could buy something to drink and sit in the sun. The doors to the restaurant were open and it was totally empty. I told the waitress we did a long walk to come to this place and we could not sit in the sun because we had an elderly person with us who is exhausted. We asked permission at least have a drink in the restaurant in the shade. The waitress made a phone call to the manager a he said NO. The whole place inside was totally emtpy, there was nobody to disturb, we would have bought our drinks outside, no one would have had extra work with us. They didn't allow to rest in the shade. We had to take the steep stairs back up again. I don't know what idea of gastronomy these people have, but that's about the worst thing that has happened to me in years. Never ever again!

Went to symphony by the sea event and loved every minute! Please put it on again next year as we will definitely be back! Only thing to watch for is the steps in and off the beach. 133 to be precise

Beautiful location, dog friendly and fantastic staff! What more could you want. You forget you’re in England! We viewed here as a wedding venue, Lauren went above and beyond to explain all details and make us feel welcome. Can’t wait to potentially have our big day here! My other half says the iced coffee is great :)

This is a very nice beach with convenient location. We liked pizza from the restaurant. But, the toilets are only for customers with big signs "No changing in the toilets" and no rubbish bins. We got our pizza in a paper box coffee in disposable cups, we had to carry that for the rest of the visit as even the restaurant doesn't provide the bins.

Highly recommend checking this place out, lots of things to do during the day such as surfing, jet skiing, boat rides as well as a restaurant/bar open to late with an amazing view... their cocktails are the best!

Beach lovely, restaurant rubbish. First we were told we couldnt order lunch because it only started at 12 and we were there at 11:45. Then when we ordered drinks it took 15 minutes to come. We ordered crayfish but they didn’t have any only prawns which was fine. Only 3 other tables with people on but the woman brought our food out 20 minutes later and said sorry it took a while it’s so busy. (If this is busy I would hate to come when there are actually people in!) We finished our drinks and food and went to the bar to pay, the woman who served us came across and said sorry it’s soo busy in here... paid our bill.. Two prawn sandwiches and two diet cokes = £24.90!! 20p to use the toilets and £3.70 for the car park for 2 hours. We are local but won’t be returning, so many better places to go in Cornwall I wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful beach with amazing views. My wife and I were lucky enough to be able to walk all the way down the coast, along the sand, to Towan beach while the tide was out.

Not including the amount of steps you have to take to get down and then back up the place was truly magical! Absolutely worth the climb! Fantastic atmosphere! Busy but spacious beach with stunning views!

We are using the beautiful beach here, there is accommodation here but we have no details. The beach is lovely and the food and atmosphere are great, with friendly staff. You can hire jet skis here which looks fun. There are a lot of steps down to and back up from the beach, so check them out first.

I had my wedding here in June and it was not only the best day ever with such fantastic staff, we also stayed in the cottage for the week and had our family down for beach days and pizza from the restaurant. Every single aspect of the week was amazing and I cannot speak highly enough of this beach, accommodation and venue.

We were here for a wedding! It was lovely! Loved the service there, the staff and the location. There is a lot of steps to get to the location but it's a very private beach which cliff at all sides - so it's worth the effort!

Cornwall has decent beaches, this beach is no different. Except, very steep and narrow steps to the beach. No toilets on the beach, we visited when there was a wedding at the Lusty Glaze restaurant. So there was no food except pizza and drinks. They could not sell crisps with the beer, you had to queue on the other side of the restaurant for that. Toilets in the parking (100 steps up) are porta loos, we asked our 6 year old to hold it till we get into the town. The reusable and biodegradable beer glasses are a good idea though very flimsy, can't climb the 100 steps with it so be ready to chug if you need the toilet. Parking costs more than nearby Porth Beach.

Lusty Glaze beach is the perfect place to learn or to improve your surfing skills. As a privately owned surfing beach we offer exclusive access to some of the best waves in Cornwall. Group and private lessons available with prices starting from £35pp.

Lovely beach, steep stairs to get down to, has a bar and restaurant. Best to go when the tide is going out and watch the beach revel itself. When the sun is shining its even better.

After being OBSESSED with this venue for years, when the time came for us to choose our wedding venue it was simply a no brainer. The venue itself is one of a kind and absolutly stunning, but its the staff that are the beating heart of lusty glaze. The wedding planning team over the last 18 months were always quick to respond to queries, clear when it came to the financial stuff, but also provided great support, particular when it came to confirming all the tiny details. They worked tirelessly with our vendors to orchestrate our dream wedding from start to finish and it was simply perfect. Thank you so much to everyone in the team 💙

Proper little hidden gem !! Very quiet, lovely and peaceful, but only a mile from Newquay beach !! Lots of steps down, I counted 132 ! Worth it tho, plenty of parking, bar etc on the beach. Can't fault it

I had a weekend booked in & upon arrival we noticed few issues with property such as lamp leg were loose & kept falling down. As we had kids I moved the lamp to the next room to avoid any damages. Tv did not work. WI-FI not available. YouTube doesn’t work. Contacted the house keeping but no answered. She called me back next day & advised she will get someone to sort it out but never heard anything from anyone. Apart from nice view all the dishes were dirty not cleaned previously. Heating never worked. As it was freezing we turned heating to full but all rooms were freezing & only 1 blanket available. Avoid this property at all costs. Spend your money somewhere else.

This is really sweet and pretty beach in New Quay. Its quite small and thus has a nice private feeling to it. The sand on the beach is very clean. There are also couple of restaurants on the beach, serving good food and drinks. It is an ideal place to spend a chill afternoon, and can also carry a disk or football along if interested in playing. The beach also serves as a wedding venue and has facilities for having a nice wedding on the beach.

We were incredibly lucky to have Chef Richard Mason cater for a private dinner for my boyfriend and me. From initial communication through to the bill, I cannot fault the chef on anything - kind, helpful & clearly very talented..it took one course for me to decide he would be the go-to chef for any future dinners, lunches or weddings we might have! For starter we had king prawns, main was steak & chips for the boyfriend and a seafood linguine for me, and dessert was a selection of various delights - there wasn’t a single plate that wasn’t scraped clean. It was absolutely delicious! And the setting is outstanding, with the interior decor just beautiful and the beach & sunset making the spot just a gem of a find. One of the best evenings we have had for a long time!! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well, where can I start ! We had our wedding here last week and all I can say is if you are contemplating booking your dream wedding in Cornwall, then you really must book it here at lusty glaze. The venue is something else, all of our guest have since said it was the nicest and most magical venue they have ever been to for a wedding The staff are by far the most kind , caring , passionate and helpful staff I have come across. The wedding coordinators are always there to help every step of the way. I know I asked them so many questions time and time again and they were so patient and knowledgeable. The food was spot on! Just perfect ! It was clean , everything has been well thought out. It is worth every single penny. I couldn't of wished for a better place to have been married ! Thanks so much to all at lusty !

A must visit location while in the area. Lovely interiors, super comfy, friendly staff and an unbeatable view. We stopped in for some fantastic hot chocolates and to enjoy the view. I left something behind, and Michaela made sure it got back to me in london- so thankful!!

Beautiful little beach. Lots of steps to get onto the beach but it's really lovely and there are bars/food right on the sand and the sea is lovely and clear

I was recommended the lusty Glaze restaurant by family members so we decided to go and have Sunday Lunch for my birthday. It felt like we had the beach to ourselves before heading into the restaurant itself. The staff could not have been nicer! The food was out of this world, I had the Pork roast and my boyfriend had the Wagyu burger and said it was one of the best burgers he's had. Special shout out to Naomi who was incredibly friendly and chatty and Reese who went above and beyond to make my birthday special We will be recommending Lusty Glaze to everyone we know and will return!

This beach is one of the too hidden gems of Newquay and Cornwall in general, enjoy amazing views and perfect sunsets in a private picturesque cove that is accessible by stairs down from the top end of the carpark.

  • 5/5 Debbie J. 8 months ago on Google
Private beach. Car park is quite expensive but worth it. Visited in October and we were blessed with beautiful weather and it was quiet. Got two coffees and sat and appreciated the beautiful scenery. Guy in the kiosk was very friendly. A wonderful find. Would be amazing for a wedding although steep steps so not ideal if you are disabled or struggle. Ideal for surfing or just relaxing. Lovely inside area.

Lovely location and looks amazing but not necessarily kid friendly as stated. The only way to get down is steps and not a few, loads of them. So it was hard with kids... as we had strollers. However if going without kids, then yes it’s lovely!

There are few places that you stumble across and all you can say is wow. Lusty beach is a stunningly beautiful cove that oozes romance the minute you step down the 133rd step. The restaurant was lit with delicate fairy lights from the minute you walked in and extended out onto the beach. The staff where exceptionally friendly, Lusty beach staff excelled. Fun, friendly and efficient in every way. The food was everything I had hoped for and topped off by listening to a wonderful singer as we ate. Before leaving, with full tummys, a evening stroll and a paddle in the sea was a must, if only we could have seen the sun set and it would have been perfect. Alas, even this magical place couldn't hold off the drizzle If your visiting Cornwall, this is a must.

Beautiful beach. Quite a lot of steps down to, but well worth it. Sandy, sheltered from the wind. A few caves to explore. There's also a cafe, but it was closed to the public due to a private function when we visited.

(Translated by Google) One of the best restaurants in England. Very hidden in a bay and therefore easy to miss. Super service that really knows their products. Recommended all day long, but perfect for a sundowner !!! The food was great and the gin menu was above average !!! An absolute must when staying in Cornwall and a really good and really cheap alternative to Jamie Oliver´s Fiveteen (which is only a few kilometers away).
