Spent
a
vry
interesting
number
of
hours
visiting
this
cadtle
which
houses
the
Newry
&
Mourne
Museum.
The
restoration
of
the
castle
is
sensatively
done
and
gives
one
a
good
feeling
of
whow
it
might
have
looked
when
occupied
by
the
Bagenal
family.
The
exhibits
in
the
exhibition
areas
of
the
museum
cover
the
entire
history
of
the
Newry
Mourne
area
from
the
earliest
settlers
of
the
Mezolithic
period
right
up
to
modern
times.
While
the
artifacts
themselves
weren't
plentifyl
the
information
in
the
hself
guide
system
and
in
the
panels
was
enormous.
The
different
stories
are
very
well
told
and
give
one
great
insights
into
the
history
aand
developmet
of
the
town
in
particular.
The
use
of
good
illustrations
must
be
commended
as
is
the
facsimiles
of
various
archival
maps,
drawings
and
other
documents.
This
said
there
are
significant
numbers
of
original
documents
on
display.
The
photo
used
to
illustrate
this
location
is
not
correct
being
a
photo
of
Newry'
St
Patrick's
and
St
Coleman's
Cathedral,
which
is
across
a
busy
duel
carraigeway
from
Babgnel's
Castle.
Sat
nav
info
on
thos
castle
is
also
very
poor.
Gps
cordinates
on
one
published
document
are
wrong.
