Today I tried my first lamb shawarma. I am more familiar with kebabs, which is what I compared it to. It is a little bit different to a kebab and may be superior. The meat was much better quality than what you get in a kebab and the vegetables were crispy, instead of soggy. The spices were vibrant and the garlic sauce was punchy without making the bread soggy. I loved it. If you're going for tasty fast food, this may be one of the healthier options.

My gosh I only found Sam's cafe and his famous shawama's not too long ago, but addicted is understating how much I love them and their wonderful food. They are the tastiest, mouth watering shawamas i have ever had. Their crinkle cut chips are so scrumptious I cant go past them either. The owners and staff are bloody wonderful to put it mildly, their customer service skills are exceptional. My only shawama go to now....LOVE EM....

One of Geelong’s best kept foodie secrets! This is like walking through a time vortex into the 1980’s - in the best possible sense! The food is fantastic and the staff are always friendly. Now if only they were open at night! One of Geelong’s best lunch time spots!

At 206 Moorabool Street you will find one of the most iconic institutes in Geelong,Sam's Cafe. From midday onwards there's a steady stream of hungry loyal customers snaking their way out onto the footpath awaiting their delicious shawarmas and yes I'm one them. Spiced lamb mixed with fresh lettuce,tomatoes and tabouleh with garlic sauce all wrapped up in flat bread and toasted until golden and crispy. My first taste of this deliciousness fell into my mouth back in 90s and I can honestly say they still taste the same. Do your taste buds a favour and get a shawarma. Bloody delicious 😋. Oh and their crinkle cut chips with a decent sprinkle of chicken salt ain't bad either from what I've heard 😉.

I popped in to have breakfast while in the area for a conference. I loved the service provided. They seem to really care about what they are doing. The food was great and so was the coffee. Do patronise them if you are in the area and I'm sure you will be delighted

This place is a Geelong icon. The food is sensational, and you are always welcomed. As well as the usual 2 and 4 seat tables, there is the shared "big table" and the opportunity to chat with fellow diners.

This is an institution and for good reasons. The food is delicious, the service is so lovely, and the untouched, old-school decor is classic and should be preserved forever more. I've been coming since the mid '90s and it is as good now as it ever was... maybe even better. Sam's Cafe rules.

This is like eating at a family friend's place. Homely, wholesome, friendly. I had a lamb shawarma; it was delicious and generous. Fresh, so fresh. I wish I had the stomach to eat a second one! Well, I guess I will have to come back for another one. And another! Thank you, Sam's Cafe

Great falafel wraps. Sometimes a bit over-lettuced and mean with the falafels, that's why I give only four stars. Still the best in Geelong.

I have tried the lamb shawarma roll, I would confidently say it's the most authentic shawarma roll I have ever had in Victoria. It reminds me with the shawarma back in the Middle East. Great family business and lovely staff. Keep it up guys!

Great little place, Food is AMAZING, good honest family business that care and it shows… Very warm and welcoming and it’s Lebanese people making traditional Lebanese street food, can’t go wrong… Wish they were open for dinner… Yulla this was an AMAZING shawarma.

This is one of the best meat Shawerma's I've had. I'm in Geelong for a short visit and I've tried it today. The meat was of good quality tender and tasty and the bread was just superb, crunchy and warm. highly recommednded and I hope I can get some more before I return home.

Three words "Simply the Best!!!!" Always friendly, fresh and a favourite. This has got me thinking about a Super Shawarma, Chilli and Cheese.... may need to drop in next week.

When I lived in Geelong over 10 years ago I used to frequent Sam's Cafe on a regular basis for their amazing Shawarma's. My husband and I recently moved back to Geelong and I was very excited to see that Sam's Cafe was still in business, with George at the helm. My first Shawama after 10 years was just as I remembered them - delicious. No kebab comes close. Looking forward to another Shawarma this weekend. Thank you George for never straying from the recipe and quality. Like they say, "when it's not broke, don't fix it".

Shawerma is good, falafel is very tasty and the staff and the owner are very welcoming and friendly, I liked it.

Best cafe in Geelong and best falafel in Victoria (and I think Ive tried them all). Still beats all the current trendy Melbourne falafel joints hands down.

10/10 Cafe. I come here weekly, sometimes more and I am never disappointed. Food is fresh, hot, not greasy, and cooked to perfection every single time. Staff are extremely friendly and always have a smile on their face. Best Cafe in all of Geelong by far!

I truly cannot give a higher review to anywhere but Sam’s Cafe. This little gem of a place has been a cafe of love and comfort for more than a decade for me, giving vibes of love, family and delicious food. Please, if you are ever in the area, bless yourself with a meal at Sam’s. My personal go to: a chicken salad roll, no onion, no pepper with a side of chips, extra salt and a potato cake ❤️ Thankyou for being a place that reminds me of home.

Quality takeaway, great place for a fresh tasty lunch. edit - Had another Shawarma for lunch today, man these things never disappoint. Perfect ratio of meat, salad, sauce and bread, not greasy, great flavour. No surprise the place is so popular.
