Great amount of indoor and outdoor seating with a great menu and drink selection. Had a small pizza that was plenty for two people! Great atmosphere and service from Eli was top-notch!

My wife and I visited and sat at the bar for dinner Sunday. As usual, the food was excellent. Every item I have tried from the menu has always been impressive. This time I got the braised short rib sandwich which was even better than it sounded. Our server, Rachel, was friendly and attentive. Even though she was busy, she took the time to check in to see how everything was and to see if we needed anything. She was also able to accommodate my wife's gluten allergy with no issues. We have had many good experiences here, but Rachel made this visit even better. Excellent food, great atmosphere and an amazing staff...we will be back again soon.

Sadly was disappointed. Hadn't been there in awhile, It was surprisingly empty. We were early so asked about happy hour specials and told they no longer have it. Decided to eat outside. Service was okay, not awful but not friendly either. Asked for a glass of wine and really expensive burgers. Food good but not great for price. When got the bill we noticed the waitress charged us most expensive wine available on the menu. Definitely no happy our here!

Great place! I went for dinner and drinks last night with some friends, we had the margarita flight, the nachos, and I ordered a burger. Food was delicious and our waitress Alex was so friendly and attentive! Definitely worth a visit, we will be back.

Wouldn’t go back burgers over cooked and I even ordered medium rare. Get the salads or pizzas they looked good. Beer selection has a bit of everything though I think the prices for cheaper lagers could be reduced a bit for the football and pizza crowd

Great spot for outdoor dining. Really nice seating area and rustic decor. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly. Service was nicely timed so we did not feel rushed at all. Plenty of parking available as I'm sure this spot gets quite busy in the warm months.

Have not been here in quite a while but the food did not disappoint. Steak, burger and chicken sandwich were all excellent. Our server did a great job. Very attentive. Another great dining experience.

The spot is local for us, so we always enjoy going here. We usually don’t have a problem getting in even if they are busy. When they are busy, we are happy to take a booth table in the bar. This place is known for their build your own burgers, but they also have a delicious pizza station. I would highly recommend the nachos. They are fantastic and the wings are also good. My favorite are the jerk wings and my husband loves the hot buffalo wings if you’re hungry and in the mood for a awesome burger I recommend that you get everything but the kitchen sink. It comes with french fries and onion rings on a fully loaded hamburger stop by have a bite drink a beer. Get a cocktail and thank me later because this is definitely a place you want to try

3.8 overall. American tavern/eatery type atmosphere. Good cocktails and a large outdoor patio The French dip fell short (6 3/10). I don't like how it is a stack of meat laid onto the bread. Sandwich meats need to be layered individually. This lacked character because of that. So far, no one can take down that widow browns fd.... its perfection. Great onion rings, and the short rib empenadas were amazing.

Dinner with my son, and at 8 pm most places were closed, so we ended up here after saying we would not be back. The places was empty at 830 pm on a Saturday. Like four tables in total. No one at the bar. Beer selection was very good. Nachos were average, but are sour cream and guacamole gold? Small portions on the plate. Burger was very average and overcooked. Pizza was good but undercooked. Service was okay but the kicker was as we sat with the nachos, our main courses must have sat under a heat lamp. Server kept checking on us and brought out the mains as we were half way through the nachos. Burger was lukewarm, fries were cold. I felt they just wanted us to leave by 945 as we were the only ones there. Overall, pricey for what you get and the quality was average. Would not go back sadly, as it is a nice place but seems poorly managed.

First time visiting the spot and had been meaning to for a while now. Came thru with the whole family and sat down for a nice weekend lunch. The space is very nice and open with a modern rustic slightly cozy/lodge-like feel. Everything feels solid here and falls in line with most other area eateries. They menu is extensive and offers options for various diets and can please just about the whole crowd. We ordered a cpl apps and both the brussel sprouts and shishito peppers were great. Everyone liked their entrees with no complaints and I ordered the roasted butternut squash pizza which was interesting. Overall decent

Great pub grub Delicious cheeseburger. We had a choice of about 7 different cheeses, and it was a juicy medium rare just what I ordered. The fries and onion rings were GREAT!

Stopped in for beers and apps. Loved the giant pretzel. Good selection of beers. Enough TVs to keep the football fans happy. Staff was attentive. A great place to bring a group to hang out for a few hours and catch up on old times.

Absolutely a must visit. Menu is across all likes. Everything we ordered in two trips was delicious. Like home cooked meals. Restaurant and kitchen is ridiculously spotless. And the best feature is the staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us comfortable. 5 STARS!!

Half a dozen times we’ve ordered take-out and asked for no pickle with the sandwich due to a food allergy. Every time, there’s a pickle. This time we asked for a side of the chipotle mayo and received a side of thousand island dressing, which also can’t be had because of the same allergy. Having exhausted the benefit of the doubt, it’s obvious the kitchen here can’t be relied upon for food safety requests or following simple instructions.

The food was not good. But it's a pub. I didn't expect much. Great atmosphere and good staff. Kitchen just really needs to work on the menu. Giant pretzels with beer cheese and fettuccine Alfredo on the same menu. Pick a lane. Pretzel was good. Alfredo was watery and flavorless, so not so good. Kids macaroni was pretty good. Go for game nights and drinks. Skip the entrees. Stick to the bar food.

So glad we stopped here after visiting the Children’s museum nearby. Service was great, food was solid, and the atmosphere was perfect - felt like we were sitting outside, but didn’t have to deal with the 95 degree heat. Best grilled chicken I’ve had on a salad in a long time. Server was very attentive and the manager checked in too. Family friendly. Would definitely visit again if we’re in the area. Wish this place was in our town!

Was traveling from out of state, so cannot return, but if I were closer I would definitely return! This place has fantastic food! Different members of my party all had different menu items, and it all was excellent. It just might be worth driving back to CT to have again.

Went on the evening of 12/29/22 and was completely disgusting by the horrible attitude of the bartender. If I knew her first name I'd post it because she was that miserable. 30 something dark hair female with red lipstick. If she's there, sit someplace else. Other than the service, it wasn't that bad. The only reason I would go back was because the manager at the door was friendly (Older gentlemen) and said thanks and told us to have a good night. Didn't even get that out of the bartender and I had a $100+ tab! Never ONCE checked on us and we had to get her attention when she was near us to order anything.

We came in for brunch this past Sunday for my daughters birthday and were pleasantly surprised with both the service and the food. Our waitress Shannon was very attentive and friendly which made our experience all the better! We shared a Wake and Bake pizza, a definite must have! Will be back soon.

I went for dinner with two of my friends, and we each had gotten a drink, I asked for the Margarita from their cocktail menu, which was listed at $9, and the waitress asked if I had wanted a tall, which I expected to be between $3-5 dollars more which was fine. We get the bill and my Margarita was $26, and my friends cocktail who also got a tall was only $12. On the itemized receipt it noted that my Margarita was made with Don Julio 1942 Tequila, which was not asked for or specified, and is not the tequila that is listed on their cocktail menu. When I asked our waitress (Shannon. F) if this was correct she said "Yes that's the normal tequila we use". Knowing this was a lie, we just paid our bill and left appalled by the service and confused as to why the waitress would blatantly lie to a guest. I called back and asked for the Manager who only was able to offer a gift card. (Admittedly I should have not paid for the drink and asked for the manager while still there, but did not). I just am not sure as to why that happened and it was very upsetting. Likely will not go back. Would not recommend going, you may get charged $14 extra for a Margarita and be lied to by the waitress. I am unsure as to why a restaurant would want servers who do that.

Great pub with a great burger! Love the old wood that surrounds the dining room! The 18 oz. Burger is one of the best burgers I’ve had. Perfectly cooked and juicy patty, complimented by tomatoes, avocado, lettuce, and slightly cured onion (to cut the potent flavor) stacked and wrapped neatly on a large but not dense bun. Good sized for two regular people, or one regular me. Service is spot on (Friday afternoon) with friendly and fast service.

Ordered food online via grubhub and the food they had sent to me was wrong so I called to inform them and to see if I could either come pick up my correct order, the manager then informed me that "this isn't the establishment for you" and hung up on me. After calling back to see why I was no longer allowed to order food from or go to the restaurant the manager told me I was harassing him and he was going to call the police. Would not recommend this place to anybody after that BS from their horrible manager

Great place for over the top burger, pizza, and beer. The selection of food has great combinations and food was prepared to our liking. Been here a few times and tried numerous things on the menu and all we slightly above average. Have a good beer selection on tap and craft bottles. Fills a good role in the area of over priced places but provides a nicely design atmosphere. Staff was very good and attentive.

This is absolutely one of the best restaurants in all of Newtown! Red Rooster Pub has very delicious food. The place has very beautiful interior decorating and outdoor seats. Eating here is without doubt an opportunity not to be missed!

Nachos not great. Would have been better if more of the chips had beans and meat on them. Not really sure about the meat. Didn’t taste any. Spice content was good.

The bartender tonight was friendly and very helpful. We had the chicken parm pizza and cheeseburger sliders, both were delicious. I cant wait to come back to try the brunch.

While visiting my sister here in Connecticut, I was taken out to dinner on many occasions, but one which stands out for me, was the Red Rooster! Great food, and for me a 'Mocktail' with my meal, all just great! And what a fabulous atmosphere with its reclaimed decor style which they just did perfectly! I can't wait to come back again. I only wish this place was back in Australia too! Well doneRed Rooster Pub. Andrew from Australia.

Fabulous! Our server Eli, couldn't be more attentive without intruding. He was the consumate professional. The salmon wrap was delicious, cocktails were so good it was hard to choose, and I tasted everyone's at the table before I did. The desserts were to die for. Our table ordered a variety and were able to sample several. It was a beautiful afternoon and sat outside on the patio. I would definitely pay a return visit.
