Beautiful walk along the coast and the island. Just be careful of the changing of the tides, you don't want to get stuck!

Great spot for walk around rough island via causeway ,but check the tides first. Plenty of parking and toilets to,I go here also for easy access to water for some kayaking fun.

Beautiful location at North West short of Strangford Lough. Ideal for picnic, or short walk across causeway or around island. Suitable for dogs. Beware of high tide making causeway uncrossable. Toilets open during day. Ruins of small house on island. Great views

Haven't been here for a while and we hit it on a day when luckily enough the tide was out. We were able to reach the island but beware, if the tide has just gone out the causeway can be quite slippery. It gets better as it dries of course. Great scenery but sad to see empty beer cans and plastic bottles way out here as there are plenty of litter bins back at the well kept car park. There are also plenty of seats and picnic tables. Definitely a nice walk but only if the tide is out.

Have experienced both the high tide and low tide, as soon as its low tide pathaay to the island seems clear and walkable, be carefull of the pathway might be slippery some time. Nice place for your dogs as well.

Beautiful views across Strangford Lough. You can have a lovely walk across the causeway to the island at low tide (slippery surface) and walk around the island. Be aware of the tides at all times, you can get stranded as the tide comes in very quickly!

Short walk out the path at low tide and a circumference of the island. Kids enjoy it.

Nice free trip out. You have to drive to get to IH ideally. It's quite far out. It's a short walk. Dogs and children to be kept on leads at all times. There is a lot of sinking mud. Dogs have died and little tots do wander about when the tide is out. It's quite dangerous out there re sinking.

Nice walk, short. Steel hill going down so if you have a pram or wheelchair you would need to be careful. Can walk around the island but can be narrow in places and some muddy sections so wear wellies

Quiet, secluded parking area on the shore of Strangford Lough on the road from Comber to Newtownards (off to the right). Picnic tables and public toilets available. Short walk out to the island with lovely views.

This is a difficult place to find if you are not sure of the area. But once found it is a real gem of a place, plenty of places to park some picnic tables and a toilet which is clean. It is a great place to walk a dog if you have one or just to wonder along the side of the lough and onto the island via the causeway. As long as other people are being respectful it is a peaceful place to be with huge skies and the ever-changing Lough.

This is a beautiful place to visit, plenty of picnic tables. A lovely walk over to the small island, there is nothing to pay a this beauty site. We'll worth a visit, it has toilets on site.

Great place just to relax and take in the peace and quiet. Great views over strangford Lough. When tide is out you can walk over the causeway and walk around the island.

A wonderful spot to watch the birds from the causeway. Watch out for the tides otherwise you could get stranded out on the island! The island itself is perfect for a stroll and a great spot to watch birds sitting on nearby islands (with a scope). Watch out for dogs off of their leads. The disturbance from dogs can negatively impact feeding or roosting birds.
