I recently had the pleasure of dining at Crown Prince Fine Dining and Banquet with my family and in-laws from Vancouver. As someone who enjoys dim sum, I've noticed that prices at most dim sum places have significantly increased. However, Crown Prince surprised me in the best way possible. The standout feature of our experience was undoubtedly the dim sum. The har gow and siu mai, in particular, were not only generously portioned but also bursting with flavor. The har gow's delicate shrimp filling and the perfectly seasoned siu mai left a lasting impression on our taste buds. It's worth noting that the portion sizes were quite substantial compared to other places, making the dining experience even more satisfying. Crown Prince Fine Dining and Banquet provided an ambiance that was both elegant and inviting. The attentive staff and comfortable seating arrangements added to the overall positive atmosphere. While the price for dim sum might be higher than what we've encountered at other venues, the quality and taste made it well worth the cost. If you're a dim sum enthusiast looking for an exquisite dining experience that doesn't compromise on taste or portion sizes, Crown Prince Fine Dining and Banquet is certainly a destination to consider. The delightful combination of delectable dim sum and a pleasant dining environment made our visit a memorable one, leaving us eager to return for more culinary delights.

Nice seating ambient. Dim sum is pretty good, but very expensive. Tea is also very nice. Playing on the speakers is 忘記他 by Teresa Teng, on infinite loop back. Now, this is a very nice song tune, but if it's constantly playing, it gets very annoying. 4 stars because of the constant piano tune, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

One of the best Dim Sum in Toronto. Great athmosphere. Fast friendly service. The food was to die for. Will I go back? Of course I will. Ignore the cranky people. Just go and enjoy this amazing place. I was happy I made resarvations. Place was so packed Sat lunch time. I added their secret prices for the menue in one of the photos. The only dish we did not think was superb was the turnup cake. It was only ok. Had better. Second visit was even better. Incredible fast service . Well done. Food was spectacular.

Food was excellent but lacking in service. The Siu-my were huge. But had to ask for mustard 5x before I finally got some. The dessert deep fried egg yolk ball took more than 25 mins.

An Overall Great Lunch (Diem-Sum) Experience We only chose to come here since it was within walking distance from TenderCare. We had diem-sum during our visit to see a relative last Aug 2023. I hate coming to Chinese restaurants here in Toronto. Hostesses would not speak in English so I had to guess whether our No. was called or not! The wait was chaotic. Eventually we got a spot for 5 in a very tight corner (2nd room) but otherwise cozy table. Didn’t care if we didn’t get to sit on the main fancy room as long as the diem-sum was good which was not bad. My wife admitted that the food was good for the prices. Portions were big and fresh. Service was slow but that’s because the few staff members around seemed overworked. I will still consider coming here. Wish the hostess realizes that NOT everyone (customers) speak Chinese. Period.

Underwhelmed at best Having flown in from NY to eat Chinese food, this was quite the disappointment. The fish was fishy The scallops were overcooked and under seasoned Roast pork,Dry and unflavorful... The rest was okay. The duck and vegetables were probably the 2 better dishes. Not having suckling pig but featuring it on the special menu was amateurish, considering the special menu is a one pager that they did not need to provide. Only saving grace was the service.

Came here for weekend brunch. Tried a few dim sum items. The Steamed Bun with Custard & Egg Yolk was still my go-to choice here. Not only did the egg yolk add a pinch of saltiness to the custard, enriching the flavour, but the filling was abundant. It was so satisfying just looking at the filling pop right out of the bun when splitting it. Har Gow (Steamed Shrimp Dumplings) and Siu Mai (Seafood & Pork Dumplings) were great too. There was a generous amount of meat in each of the items. The steamed BBQ Pork Rice Roll had a lot of pork inside, wrapped with a thin and soft rice sheet. The sauce was the cherry on the cake. Steamed Chicken Feet were good too; the chicken feet were jellied and tasted sweet. It would be even nicer if they were less greasy. We also tried the Char Siu (BBQ Pork) plate. The pork was well-roasted, paired with sweet beans on the side. I highly recommend ordering this separate dish. The place was spacious, well-suited for wedding receptions. The interior was adorned with royal-style decor, delicate dishware indicating a Hong Kong-British style. Service was a bit better than other Cantonese restaurants. One thing a bit disappointing was that they never got back to me about my lost cap - I left it on the seat but they claimed they never found it. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 4/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 3.5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 2.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 4/5 ($30-40 per person)

Prepare for a long wait even though you have made a reservation and showed up on time during the weekend ( especially if you don't know the lady at the door). She only gives table to the people who she knows or "tips" her (I saw this happening while I was waiting). It took us an hour finally being seated. Initially, I wanted to give them a two star rating becuz the wait was ridiculous even though we made our reservation. But the food "saved" it from happening. The food was good, flavourful..didnt taste too bland. I'm glad they let us enjoy the food and didn't rush us out. It's also very difficult to get a parking spot too..

One of the best dim sum places in Toronto. Sad to see them not open because of Covid. My favourite is the sui mai with caviar. The prices are excellent too. Better than Pear Harbor quality for half the prices

Pleasantly surprised. Had planned to go to Rol San in Chinatown but we decided to give it a shot at this place after many years of living nearby. The custard dessert is AMAZING. It is just so, good. Must-try. Other food items were decent as well. Considering the amount of food and pretty attentive service (yet not friendly, but this is what I had expected anyways,) I give them 5 stars and I will come back.

The food here is really good but the decor is opulent. It is really over the top and makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable. We went with a large group (over 30) and they accommodated is easily in the private dining room they have. The staff were professional and really delivered a fine dining experience.

Overall, a good experience at this dim sum restaurant. The good food offset the not so good food. There were just two of us, so we will need to try more next time: Best were: Squid Har gow Siu Mai Needs improvement: Deep fried sticky rice - interesting idea but not to my taste - intestine shacha sauce - needs more flavour - black bean - tofu wrapped vegetables - needs more flavour

The food is really sweet; almost everything has sugar. The dishes, that do not have sugar, are not that great. I guess if they do not know how to cook without sugar. The only thing I liked was the tea. The place and atmosphere looks like a palace but the restroom looks like they are in a pirate ship; dirty, one of the faucets does not work and they do not have paper towels. One of the waitresses was rude; she wanted to leave her tray on the table and she pushed my shoulder with the tray. Really poor experience; we will not come back here.

Take a step back in time. This is luxurious 1980 themed restaurant. Overall food quality was okay service was quick and easy. It’s a bit pricy, but a fun experience.

Really fancy Chinese restaurant in a great location. I had a few problems with this place though: 1) No dimsums after 3:45pm 2) Really small plates to eat from 3) Personally found it very pricey with the bill coming to $35 a person. Good quality food and ambience overall

This is my go to spot for dim sum! Haven't been here in a few years because of covid but it's still just as good as it was a few years ago. There aren't any carts anymore and the food takes much longer to come out than normal but this is to be expected with staff shortages affecting the restaurant industry as a whole. Plus it was a packed restaurant when I went. I highly recommend that you make a reservation if you plan on going. This place is a bit pricey but if you're only going there a couple of times a year, it's worth it for the quality of food and the atmosphere alone. Only took two pics because I was too eager to eat! If the prices were a touch lower and the food came out a bit quicker, this would be a 5 star review. Oh! Just an fyi... This restaurant is probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant in the GTA! Definitely recommend that you try this place if you got a special event to celebrate!

A premium branch of Crown Princess with slightly upgraded versions of dim sum at a price premium. Similar European setting which seems to be their theme. Food is ok. The venue is a large ballroom and the kitchen does struggle to get food out to support such a large setting. Wait times for tables can be long and for food can be inconsistent.

I feel like their quality is not as good as before. Decent but there are better options for the price. I was disappointed with the lobster dish. Bit salty and over cooked. Peking duck was decent.

Food was generally good. Ha gow and fun gao were a bit thick on the outside, but the filling was good. The BBQ pork pastry & Fung jiaow were great.

An upscale Chinese cuisine restaurant & banquet facility, nice vibe and decor for a relaxing dining experience, extensive menu of all Cantonese favourites with fancy fixings, nice elegant presentations, attentive and helpful staff.

Very interesting nice Chinese restaurant decor!!! I love it. Nice atmosphere and environment!!! Food is on the pricier side for special events. But dim sum in the day time is good deal. Hehe. Lots of Chinese people here. Very authentic!!!

It looks like fine dining. yummy dim sum. The look good and taste great. I would go out of my way to eat here again. I felt the service staff were a little inexperienced.

Pretty tasty Dim Sum at a reasonable price. We went there on Saturday noon and it cost us about 55 for three people. It is often crowded during lunch hours at weekends, so make sure you book your seat in advance. 【added in Sept 2019 (3 years later)】The food is definitely a five star. However, you need to wait almost 45 min on Saturday noons if you don't have a reservation. It cost $120 for four people. I don't like the location of our table because it was next to the kitchen garbage bin.

This dim sum place had been on my Saved List for quite some time, finally got the chance to try it out. Very nicely done dim sum. This is a place that I would visit again with friends and families.

One of the best dim sum spots in Toronto! It was love at first bite a year ago – their iconic shrimp dumplings and cha siu bao will win over any foodie. We're regulars every other month now. Lately, I'm hooked on their barbecued octopus and fish congee, but feel free to explore. Their seating arrangements handle all group sizes. Plus, they accept CREDIT CARDS! A rare find in Chinese restaurants, trust me!

Hi. This is another gem to enjoy. Service is very good and attentive to ensuring our teapot was full and empty serving dishes were removed promptly. Decor is bright and enjoyable on the eye (a little too much ornate for me). Food quality is really good from the Siu Mai (large and tasty), Cheung fun was not too sticky and a lot of filling. Steamed Chicken buns.. delicious skin that was not too thick (some places the skin overwhelms the filling) Steamed BBQ buns. Great tasting filling, large pieces of char Siu, unlike some other restaurants place that puree theirs and add filler. Har How. Good, but they used a shrimp paste and not pieces of shrimp that one can see. I'd say come back often..this is a really good place for dim sum

Decent dim sum joint but prices are really high. I will say that the environment and renovations are really regal and elegant, so that might be why they're charging a cut above the rest of the dim sum restaurants in the GTA. I also enjoy the fact that you're able to make a reservation, when usually dim sum restaurants don't allow reservations at such a busy time OR they have trouble actually seating you at your reservation time (cough cough Skyview). Regardless of the price, there are some hits and misses with the food. I would recommend the curry squid and beef short rib in maggi sauce. Other staples like shumai and shrimp dumplings I had no complaints or compliments about. I don't think their congee was flavorful at all, so I'd steer clear of that. Overall I'd still recommend this place if you're trying to impress guests with the grandeur of the restaurant. It really is beautiful and the food is decent. But I probably won't be coming here for weekly dim sum due to the price.

As good as it gets for dim sum. Up there in flavour and quality. I liked the overall experience especially the banquet hall setting... lol

Delicious food. Staff are fast but not the most friendly ones. Reasonably priced (according to US standard).
