former ex employee, this place is poorly managed. The manger attitude is super foul. He makes working here unbearable, it feels like suffocation. The turn over rate at this place is so high, max 3 months. Several girls have left. The manger does not listen to the workers requests, everything has to be done "his way". Three employees have left in one single month, many of us are too nervous to speak up, some are still working there. Theres so many google complaints about how the employees working here are not happy, its literally because we are always on edge. There has been several incidences were I was about to cry. The manger there literally screams at you, literally.

Living around the corner, this is usually my go-to neighbourhood spot. The regular staff (older man with glasses and a taller man) are great - friendly, professional, welcoming. However, two new staff lately have been unprofessional - loudly gossiping and just being way too casual in their customer communication. I've seen them basically yell questions at customers because they're forgetting orders - like, "What are you waiting for?" to people across the cafe - and then turn around and laugh with each other. It feels rude, disruptive and unpleasant. On top of that, I can see clearly they're making orders and then just leaving things lying around to chat instead of cleaning up. They look quite young so probably need a few extra days of training and more oversight from their manager. Until then, I won't be coming back much.

The latte was kind of too light for me. The coffee tastes smooth not strong

Good place to grab a morning coffee. I had a brewed coffee and a maple walnut muffin, while my wife had a coffee and an everything bagel. The muffin was great with a texture akin to pound cake, the bagel however lacked enough butter/enough flavour. Unfortunately their espresso machine was not working at the time of our visit which was a disappointment. The coffee is good though.

Great food and access friendly. The staff could use a little bit more training on customer service - felt standoffish when I said iced at the end of my order vs. starting off the order with the word iced. Also, they don't serve yogurt.....Google please help them remove this......

This Cafe should be named 1st cup. They provide such great customer service making it a great start to my day. Maryam and Alex are the best people ever ❤ very welcoming and friendly. Stepped in for a coffee and ended up getting hot chocolate. The service was efficient and didn’t take long for it to be served. The outlet wasn’t too crowded either. The pinkberry extension is always a plus!

The staff here seemed completely zoned out and tense when we came in. Like the atmosphere felt super uncomfortable. On top of that, I ordered a honey London fog tea latte, and they gave me a vanilla bean latte?? Unfortunately, I didn’t notice until I was back home. My partner went back like 5 min afterwards to get me another drink, since I can’t have coffee, and they told the person who took my order about it. They legit didn’t even apologize, which was literally the least they could do? And this is why I never go into this second cup and opt for the further from me Starbucks cause the staff is just much nicer. At least my muffin was good… Skip this location if you can 😩

This place only had 1 staff member working here on a busy Sunday afternoon. The wait for so long and when I did receive my brewed coffee, it was lukewarm. Next time I'll go to Starbucks where they hire more than 1 person and the coffee is hot.

Cute lil joint. Coffee was decent and was very convenient to get some work done on my computer.

I walked in just past 8:30 pm and asked what time they close. They said they close at 10. I went to sit outside and 15 minutes later the one guy asked me to leave and started clearing the tables, it was only 8:45. There were only 3 tables on the patio and it takes 5 minutes to bring them inside. Not sure why I had to give up my table 1 hour and 15 minutes before close.

Great place. The drinks aren't unnecessarily sweet. The hot latte was not scalding hot, so you could actually drink it when you got it. The carrot cake was lovely, especially the sour cream cream on top. The other bakery goods were also not too sweet. I recommend the almondine. The staff was friendly. The quiet cafe was a nice break after the busy and loud street.

Ordered a triple hazelnut late in a medium cup first time foam with cream but got a americano with cream no foam watered down espresso. Then went back asked for it to be corrected then was given a wrong made latte again. Someone needs to show the staff how to make latte correctly i asked to get another colleague who knows. Disappointed in this location its usually good for lattes but new staff working today. I am sad.

Great place for a quick break with amazing coffee

I ordered my go to order for second cup and it just wasnt it. My frapp was watered down and its as if none of my add ons were added... and they were extra cost. I really hope the milk was substituted for oat milk, cause im lactose. Im very disappointed with my order.

I love this location! The staff are always friendly and the cafe is always clean. It often gets busy, but the staff are efficient and make orders quickly.

I like this place, but I want to understand how people can keep a good posture on this chair and also how people can sit and put their legs under the "table", please manager, take a look at this and acquire at least appropriate chairs

I tried the white hot chocolate and asked them to make it half sweet, and it was amazing! Their smoothies are fresh and healthy (low sugar) too

Staff was very polite and friendly. Place was very neat and clean. Loved their mango protien smoothie. Will definitely come back to try more flavors.

This was my first time visiting this location and it was great! Don't be deceived....it always looks busy, but that's just bc the door is close to the cash. The staff serve everything very quickly and are super friendly. I had the candy cane white hot chocolate and it was very tasty. Overall, a wonderful first experience. 👍

This location used to be my go-to coffee shop in this area. BUT, it changed all! June3rd, 5:30pm, my friend and I came in the store and there is no one in line. We stood there 2 mins checking out the menu. Meanwhile, one more customer came inside and line after us. We then decided to order and came to the counter. The female staff, the Asian one, was so RUDE and unprofessional!!!! No smile, drinking her own coffee and telling us the customer behind us is the 1st customer! You can tell us the confusion but definitely not in this attitude! I am very disappointed that the second cup has gone down so much in customer service!!!!! We left without ordering. This type of staff doesn’t deserve to work in customer service industry!!!!!

The service is always hit or miss and the staff in general are not friendly and have no sense of urgency. Maybe it’s not a happy work environment? In that case it’s a management issue. Living around the corner and coming here frequently I’ve probably only received a friendly service once or twice. The service is also always very slow. If you want your quick cup of coffee in the morning before work, you can forget about it, there’s always a line. Just go to Starbucks down the street or Moffeer Coffee

My wife and I arrived at 16:45, ordered a hot drink each and a couple of pieces of cake that we sat down to enjoy. 10 minutes later we were (rudely) asked to finish up as they were closing the shop soon. 5pm came and we were reminded (again rudely) to please leave. I asked if i could use the restroom before leaving and, after a few seconds of silence, was reluctantly told yes. The most annoying thing was when leaving the shop, I was told to 'have a nice day' by the person who instructed us to leave!!! I don't think I've ever posted a bad review before, I never normally waste my time, but I didn't want to let this experience go without saying something. Note to Owner/Manager: I would recommend that your team provide a more friendly way to warn paying customers they can only stay until 5pm, prior to being thrown out. You might also consider allowing customers to finish up whilst your team are cleaning other parts of the shop.

This has to be the softest ginger molasses cookie I have ever tasted. Enjoyed it with a black coffee. This Second Cup is a hidden gem on King.

Our Fido accounts gave us free coffee and we asked the person behind the bar if we can get the coffees there. He was extremely nice and talked about coffee selections for us. Loved this place.

Favourite place to get hot chocolate in Toronto. This location is really comfortable for working or just walking between plans

Terrible customer service. As a paying customer, I would hope that staff pay attention to me when I request to use the washroom and explain that it has been locked for quite some time. I would not expect them to dismiss me, and then 30 seconds later, unlock the washroom for the next customer who asks to use it. I ended up leaving extremely uncomfortable and finding somewhere else (despite purchasing food/drinks here and not being able to sit and enjoy them).

Really great coffee and nice place to sit and get work done. I like the wireless charging pads on the tables.

Second Cup Coffee Co. did a great job with rebranding!!! Totally different feeling! Upscale but friendly atmosphere!!!) Really rememberable distinct design! Finding this location to be a flagship, due the closeness to the heart of Toronto International Film Festival!

Anytime I'm in the area, I make a point of getting a coffee from this Second Cup. Always great quality and great staff🙏🏽

We went prior to closing but the place was still pretty busy. It's popular with students getting work done. We tried some of the cakes - the cheesecake and the almond chocolate cake pictured here were super yummy. There was $6 deal for a slice of cake and a medium coffee. So pretty okay price wise. Overall, standard clean store.

I decided to deviate from Starbucks for a change came in Thursday, Jan 4th around 10 am. Unfortunately, the Cinnamon Toast Latte was terrible, I like sweet coffee but this was so overly sweet I couldn't get even halfway through it. 💔 The coffee was bitter and awful, and it was also steamed more like a cappuccino than a latte. It's unclear where to stand when you're waiting for a drink. I understand shouting drink orders when it's busy but there was no one else in the store and shouting across the café was just unnecessary when I was at the bar counter waiting and within reach. The staff could definitely improve on politeness and tone. I didn't feel welcome.
