We ordered the raspberry lemon for my mother's milestone birthday and made sure to bring the cake to room temperature before eating. The cake was hard, dry, dense and tasteless. It tasted as though it had been made months ago. It was truly disappointing as this was a special birthday for my mom with family after two years of pandemic and the cake was a complete disappointment. No one finished their pieces and the rest went into the garbage. For the price charged, I would have been better off with a cake from Loblaws or some such grocery store. It was that bad. I did the email the bakery to let them know, but received no response. ---- I was going to leave this review at this, but after a conversation with the owner, I will add what happened next. The owner left a voicemail and email for me, which I responded to via phone. Once she had me on the phone, the first thing she said was, "I see you wrote a google review." She then proceeded to lecture me about writing the review before she had a chance to respond. Only after that did she offer any kind of apology along with a half-hearted offer to refund me for the order. When I told her that lecturing me regarding the review wasn't necessarily the right way to handle this, as the bakery ruined a milestone birthday, and asked her when I would be getting the refund, she told me "Well, I don't know if I can offer you a refund if the END GAME is a google review." I had no idea my informing others about my negative experience with your company, which is my right, was considered an "END GAME." Great customer service Staij & Co. Never again.

Ordered two boxes of cupcakes from here after seeing their ads on Instagram and reading great reviews. The cupcakes were great tasting, however the salted caramel topping was a bit too sweet. The two boxes I ordered were separate dates which I wasn't aware of, and when I called and spoke with Anastasia I believe but not sure who was so kind enough to get my second box delivered the same day. Definitely will be ordering from here again in the future!

A friend of mine ordered me a box of assorted croissants for my birthday! Came with 2 plain, 2 almond, and 2 chocolate/Nutella, and it was heavenly! So fluffy and with the right amount of crunch in the outer layers. Even just the plain one was so good! Couldn’t eat it all in a day, but even the next day, after a few mins in the oven, they came back to life. So good. Definitely will try to go and get more and also try their cupcakes!

Beautiful, elegant cakes! I bought the raspberry lemon cake for a birthday. The cake was honestly bigger than I expected it to be, as it was quite tall, so I definitely think it was worth the price. It was enough for 8 people. The taste was great as well. If you prefer your cakes less sweet, I think this one is a good choice. My family also prefers cakes with less sugar and this one matched our tastes quite well. In addition, online ordering and pick up were incredibly quick and easy as well. I hope to try another cake or maybe the cupcakes and other baked goods another time. The reviews for those look great!

You're guaranteed to find a delicious something to bite into on your next visit to Staij & Co. We found this place on our morning walk, and it can be really easy to miss - maybe a sign on the fence or sidewalk would help. When my mother was visiting, a woman who loves her Chai Tea Lattes, she said this place was the best she had ever tried. Their Toasted Coconut cupcakes were to die for, and they carry Sloane Fine Teas - a family favourite.

Really really really didn't want to resort to writing a Google Review but these people gave me no choice as they haven't responded to my emails and calls for over a month now. I ordered a cake for my girlfriend's birthday. You'd think it'd be easy for a cake decorator to read the order note and put that on the cake. I did too! Nope - completely spelt the name wrong. After trying to DM them and call them the day before with no answer, they finally picked up the next day barely sounding apologetic saying there was nothing they could do but ask me on my girlfriend's birthday to bring the cake in so they can fix it. Most places would've for sure offered to bring another one instantly. When I told them that wouldn't work and that I'd like a refund instead they said that's probably not able to happen and when I told them how ridiculous that was, they said a manager would reach out to me but a full refund probably wouldn't happen because "the cake is still fine" even after telling them I need to know grab another cake because I'm not going to be the a-hole who gets someone a misspelled cake. Imagine ordering a custom t-shirt and the spelling is wrong, you're going to get a refund on that tee. Why would a cake be any different? After sending an email asking for photos of the cake which I happily sent a day later, there has been no response even after following up and calling. I'm still waiting for my refund so hopefully this gets your attention because you're clearly dodging my emails. Thanks!

Today I enjoyed Staij & Co's Matcha Almond Croissants and our house absolutely melted over them they were so divine! Delivery was also on time and the delivery person was excellent about social distancing. My MIL says "these are so good they shouldn't be allowed." I also ordered chocolate bombs for Valentine's gifts which I'm really excited about but haven't yet eaten.

I ordered a classic chocolate cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. It’s so delicious and the cake is super moist. We enjoy a lot! The cake is so beautiful and big. I think the smallest size can accommodate 8 ppl . Thank you for the beautiful cake:)

Super nice little hidden gem in Cabbagetown! The staff was super friendly and my Sloane tea was delicious. The space is very aesthetically pleasing, with seating both inside and outside. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for baked goods or hot beverages in the neighborhood!

Very VERY dry cake that crumbled entirely as soon as it came in contact with a knife. Consumed within 24hrs of delivery. Taste was good but not worth $100. Will shop elsewhere next time. Edit: we had it out for hours before cutting it was definitely at room temp.

I had spoken to the manager Anastasia prior and had ordered a box of their almond croissants and they were out of this world!! The croissants were so fabulously made and delicious and the almond filling is so amazing. Some of the best almond croissants I’ve ever had. They went so quickly. They have a really fabulous team and really do care about the quality of their products and customer satisfaction. We can’t wait to try the matcha ones next the almond ones were just to die for!

I will definitely order here again when entertaining Ordered a dozen cupcakes for a Thanksgiving party - all really interesting flavours. Some had jam injected, all had really interesting flavours/frosting varieties. Our first order came a bit messy - they promptly (same day - within an hour) sent out another replacement box complimentary. Really top notch customer service. Worth the money

Very happy with the customer service at Staij and Co. I needed to make changes on two occasions and they accommodated so easily. I got the mini egg cake for my sons birthday. The cake arrived perfectly and was very good. I'm already looking forward to getting it next year for Easter!

I took a chance ordering a birthday cake and cupcakes for a big party, not having eaten their products before. The mouth-watering pictures and descriptions on their website convinced me to just go for it. I was so happy with the results and more importantly, my guests raved about how delicious everything was. Very easy ordering online and arranging delivery to the party venue, which they did on time. Good communication throughout too - I had forgotten to give details on what to write on the cake and also needed to order an additional dozen cupcakes and these were very easy to arrange by email. Would definitely order from them again!

Love this place! Their hot chocolate bombs are the best! You can really tell that they use good quality ingredients. Their cookie mix is also great for gifts.. I have yet to try their cakes so I'll definitely be back!

Anastasia and the team at Staij & Co Cafe were incredible. I was leaving town, and organized for a cake for one of my best friends' baby shower in my absence. I gave detailed instructions on the pink flamingo theme and what I was looking for in a cake - and they delivered and then some! I highly recommend them for their creativity, flexibility and reliability. The cake was a huge hit. I will definitely be using them again - they are my go to!
