About 15 minutes walk from city center, quiet-chill spot. I recommend the butter chicken because it was delicious, but I heard the rest of the menu is amazing. They have a nice pool and the room I stayed in was very clean. Warm staff, laid back-kid-friendly atmosphere and the beds were comfy. If you're looking for a place to cool off and visit the island, I recommend you book at least a couple days here and rent either a scooter, road bike or ATV (I did and it's the safest option) as they offer that service there.

Absolutely stunning place with the most amazing staff and owners! If you are looking for a quiet place, where you can chill by the super nice pool, stay here. It's less than 10 minutes walk from the Moyogalpa center with all the shops and restaurants, but Soma offers great food as well. They make their own muffins too, the place is super clean and beautiful. I only had one request when I got here and it was to set my mosquito net and the owners managed to do this in a heartbeat with the smile on their face! Big thank you, I had such a good time here. 10 out of 10. Julia

We have had a great experience with the hotel. Unfortunately, we had a scooter accident and had to stay 2 weeks on the island to recover. During these 2 weeks the hotel was so helpful. They brought us food in the room every day, arranged multiple doctor visits and helped us with booking taxis all the way to Managua. Next to the great help, the pool and rooms are nice and cleaned everyday. You can choose if you want to stay in a dorm or a private room (with or without airconditioning and warm water). The restaurant is good for breakfast and diner and well priced. We are very grateful for the offered help by the whole team and a special thanks to Javier. We highly recommend staying at Soma!

We had an excellent stay here. Currently writing this review as I finish up breakfast! The food and drinks are so fresh and delicious. The staff is extremely helpful, I mean over the top customer service. It is clean and close to everything. We do not want to leave and hope to visit again soon. If you are questioning weather to stay here or not, just do it. You have the option to stay in a dorm, a room with a fan and a cool shower, or a cabin with hot water and AC.

+ Very nice hostel with chill vibes and a good pool. Very friendly owner. Good breakfast. - no sunbeds. Red ants in my dorm room.

Me and my family stayed here for 2 nights, it's right by the port. Close to lots of restaurants located at the calzada. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Met the owner and she was lovely. The 🐕 Roxy is a very friendly and lovely dog don't know if it's theirs but she's amazing with people. Rooms were spacious and clean showers were decent size and the rooms with a/c were comfy. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing hotel! Looks like it was recently renovated the rooms seemed new. Beautiful surroundings and an amazing pool. Food was also good. Free coffee was a plus. Highly recommend 👌

There is nothing i can think of that i didn't like about this hotel. Friendly, clean, comfortable...everything was great! And the cats and dogs and chickens living there was an added bonus for animal lovers. They have complimentary coffee and tea and filtered water. It was like a mini resort at an affordable price and have dorm rooms as well.

Absolutely loved staying here. Definitely more of a relaxed chill vibe than a social one. The staff were so friendly & everything was always clean.

Great stay! This place has an AC and a pool, what more can I say! Definitely not a party vibe, more family, lay low board games vibes to it. You can walk to the Calle principal, but not much else going on in the surrounding area.

Large room with real hot shower! We had our own terrace and hammock to chill out in. The breakfast was great and the cost of it includes the coffee and juice. Reception was super helpful with you can do in the area and what tours they recommend. The dinner was nice but would prefer they had local food options rather than curry. We walked from the ferry dock to the hostel and took about 12 minutes so wasn’t too bad. Would bring torch or flash light when walking back from dinner at night.

I stayed here twice. A bit more expensive then other places on the island but it is one of the higher end places. Certainly the best quality in Moyogalpa. The breakfasts were good and the AC was very nice. Its not too far from the port. Easily walkable.

This excellent hotel comes with comfy beds, immaculate rooms, friendly staff, a lovely swimming pool, yummy food, professionalism, fireflies, great laundry, walking distance to town, peace, quiet. We stayed for 6 nights and it was consistently good. This is one hotel we didn’t want to leave.

We really enjoyed the property but the standard room did not include hot water... that should be something very clearly communicated in the room listing. The pool area is lovely but does not have lounge chairs, which might have been nice but there are hammocks just off of the pool area. The common area is great with variety of games and books to use. They offer bar service, limited dinner options and snack for purchase. The breakfasts are lovely (yoghurt, fruit & granola was excellent). Coffee and juice are included in the price of the breakfast - between $3-5 It's about 3/4 of a mile from the ferry terminal, which is walkable. They offer rentals for bicycle, scooter, motorcycle or quads. We chose to rent a scooter to get around most of the island, which was a great way to view the area. There are several good restaurants within a short walking distance. I would definitely return but would book a Deluxe room instead, which includes hot water and AC (although the fans in the standard rooms were adequate). We found that beds in most hotels around Nica were not comfortable but the beds here were among the least comfortable that we experienced.

The hostel itself is really nice, with friendly staff and a nice pool. The food is also very good and well priced. The rooms are clean and relatively spacious. Showers work and there is warm water. Its a little way out of town and was very quiet when I was there. Would recommend it, if you're staying in Moyogalpa.

Honestly one of the best places we’ve stayed in on all our travels through Latin America. We really appreciated the immaculate gardens and pool, all the lovely staff, the proximity to town (far enough to be quiet but close enough to walk), hot water, good quality food (a range of pastas and curries) private terrace (we had one or the detached bungalows) and the firefly show every evening on the grass.

Great staff. Good price for a place with a pool. Meals were well worth the price. Cleanses was very good. I would stay here again. Close to ferry and town. So one can walk to town for diner off cite or just go to town to buy junk. Lol. The owners have the best prices on pretty well everything. Booked a little tour through them and was pleasantly surprised.

Loved this place. We stayed in the dorms and in a private room, both we're fine. The atmosphere is really relaxed and staff is friendly. They offer great tour guides and very nice massages. There is no kitchen, but the restaurant is nice. Feels a bit more like a hotel, though we did meet some other backpackers. The only negative thing is that we were awakened really early every day by roosters and other loud neighbors

Easy to reach the hostel by walk. Very close to the vulcano hike for Concepción. Clean room, friendly staff, great food (lovely pasta, try it!!) Super happy overall, would definitely come back. PS: if you book a Conecpcion hiking tour ask for the guide Luis Carlos Argenal - such an amazing and kind human being! Had lots of fun with him as he knew everything about the nature, animals, mythology and so on, and had a very good English!

The location of the place is very convenient, about 10 minutes walking from good restaurants in the center of the city. The pool is very nice but they don’t have lounge chairs, only plastic normal table chairs to sit on. The food in the restaurant is okay (only breakfast and dinner) but they only serve Indian food and pasta so if you want to eat local, this is not an option. However, luckily there is a delivery service of some good restaurants in town (without delivery fee!!) ask for the menu at the reception and they will order it for you! The standard room is nice and very big but don’t expect hot water, it doesn’t exist in Nicaragua (maybe only in the really fancy hotels). It’s nice as a hostel but if you want to visit tourist stuff, you need at least an hour drive to get there so maybe not the best location if you already have your mind set on certain locations.

I loved this place. The internet was fast, the people were very friendly, and the atmosphere was very nice. The dorm room got pretty hot at night, but otherwise, I loved everything about it.

Great hostel with amazing owner who arranged everything from hike to scooter. Clean and quiet place with a nice pool. Defenitly a place to visit. The only small thing we didnt like was the hikers breakfast. The hike to Concepcion starts early before the kitchen opens, and this breakfast is just 2 slices of bread and jam. Should be more nutritious for ex. egg, fruit and bread. Hikers need the energy :)

We thought the staff here were excellent, as was the food, service, and swimming pool. We would recommend Soma. Our only issue was how hot the fan dorm rooms were. For the first two nights we couldn't sleep because selfish people claimed the two fans for themselves. After they left the fans were shared but didn't change the room temperature. My recommendation to the hostel is to have more fans (5 beds = 5 fans) or make every room AC. And to leave the door open all day as we did. Secondly, put more signs up reminding people to use the lockers and share the fans, and shower before using the pool.

Great location with pool and self made ice cream is delicious! I rented the bungalow where I felt like home, super nice stay. The owners are really friendly and welcoming guys leading the place. I left early because all day music from neighbours on a long weekend, but that was not up to the hospedaje Soma

👍👍 We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. It’s a few blocks from the main strip of restaurants and hostels but not too bad. It’s just poorly lit at night. The pool is very nice and the food that they serve is also very decent for the price. The hostel also helps organize scooter rentals fo...

👍👍 USA Traveler: My friend and I went here and we bought the excavation tour. There's a history of the coins tour too. One tour for 5$ or both for 8$. The girl was very nice and funny. She spoke English very well and gave us the tour. You'd need to have a tour guide because there's no information in t...

👍👍 It is a very nice place to stay. From there you can organize tours to the volcanos Concepcion, Maderas And the classic tour. It is very calm place to rest and relax. Something to see is when you are in Nathaly Hostal is the milk extraction in the morning. I recommend this place.
