We stayed here for 3 nights in February 2017 and it was by far the best place we stayed on our entire Nicaraguan trip. The only downside was having to pack our bags and leave, knowing that the next place would pale in comparison. We stayed in the separate guesthouse with the lake view which is immaculate and charming. Each morning we had an amazing breakfast sourced from products grown right on the farm where we stayed. Having coffee with the surrounding wildlife each day was incredible. Ben (owner) is well known on the island and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks Ben for making our Ometepe experience unforgettable.

The farm is just amazing. Ben is the host and he is doing everything to make you feel at home. We had a perfect breakfast, he even offers free bikes to explore the island. It's very easy to communicate and Ben is always open to suggestions and questions. Next to the farm house he also has an restaurant with excellent food. I would really recommend this! Couldn't find better on the island.

Incredibly high standard of comfort and cleanliness. Wonderful team to help you with planning you trip on the island as well as generally making you feel very welcome. And the house and gardens are so wonderful to relax in. With Hancock’s on the balcony and a sitting area in the kitchen and back patio, the only reason to leave is to go eat in Cafe Campestre - walking distance from the house/Or you can get a delivery.

Not enough space to say it all but from the AMAZING views, and location to the homegrown amazing food this place is well underpriced for what you get. You can get free bicycles, breakfast is included and god is it good! The owner couldn't be nicer and more helpful to you. They helped us organising our days in the island and the rest of our journey through the country. It's also for me the best part of the island. We did a Kayak tour that they organise for us (usually I stay well away from tours...) but trust me this was so good! We're super happy that we found this place and decided to stay. We also had to check out earlier so they made sure that we had our incredible breakfast ready for us at a ridiculous time. They also have their own restaurant in the village where they also have the best and freshest food!! (I never write reviews so that's how much we enjoyed our stay!) This is really good! Hope to be back one day!

Can’t say enough about this amazing place in the serenity of the Ometepe wilderness at the base of Maderas Volcano. Benito is a wonderful host and will ensure your stay is not only accommodating but will assist in any adventure you are looking for on the island as well as other adventuring around Nicaragua. Hammocks, bicycles, breakfast, coffee and fresh living quarters are just the tip of the iceberg. The casita comes with an honor bar stocked full of refreshments and local beer and rum. Some great lounge areas to read, hang with other quests and share adventure stories, views of the lake and a great spot to see the local howler monkeys in a tree right outside of you deck. Best of all. You are a short walk to Cafe Campestre where Benito and his staff have arguably the best fresh food on the island. Chocked full of organic ingredients and responsibly raised produce right from their own farm. We will be back.

One of the best places we have stayed in Central America! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here for three nights, we wish we had booked more! Such an incredible place to relax and get away from the world. There are only three rooms in the main house and one further down the hill resulting in a quiet and intimate experience. The rooms all have large balconies to relax on and the bedrooms themselves are large and comfortable. At night all you hear is the sound of nature around you. In the morning a delicious and very filling breakfast is cooked up for you when you get up. You can organise the time you want to eat which is great as opposed to a one time suits all approach! The ladies that cook the meal are incredibly smiley and friendly! Ben, runs the place and is around to help whenever needed. He helped me sort last minute motorbike rentals, volcano hikes and taxis! He’s been on the Island more or less 20 years and knows everyone and everything you need to know! He even helped us book a taxi for the mainland when we left. Ben also runs the café campestre down in the main village area of Balgue. For a fee they will deliver to the house, which we did twice. The food down there is great, whether you order to the house or go down there and eat (25 minute walk) don’t miss it!! All in all, thank you so much Ben, we had an incredible and memorable stay with you! All the best, Guy.

This is a unique place to stay - a working farm with a volcano on one side and a massive freshwater sea on the other. Lots of great walks including climbing one of 2 volcanoes, and other good places to visit. Breakfast is just fantastic - all fresh produce from the farm, cooked to perfection. I stayed in the associated little house called Mono Congo - this means howler monkey and my photo is proof that it lives up to its name. This monkey was right in my garden!

My wife and I and two friends had a great time staying at Casa de Bosque. The house is beautiful and fully equipped. Gorgeous wood work and comfy beds. The farm is lovely. Ben was very welcoming, and his farm-to-table restaurant, Campestre, was one of our favorites in all of Nicaragua.

Lovely guesthouse nestled in the foothills of the Maderas volcano national Park. Benito is a great guy, farmer and nature lover kind enough to host folks like us in his home and cabins. Delicious breakfast prepared with local ingredients and LOTS of coffee!!

👍 Came here because this place was recommended a lot. The curry is quite good, but the freshly made passion fruit juice is absolutely fantastic, it has a great taste. Place is pretty big and they also have a garden area. They also sell a lot of homemade goods like their famous chilli flakes or chilli...

👍👍 We liked the accommodation so much that we stayed 5 days instead of 3 days. Everything is very well furnished and clean. The breakfast (eggs, fresh fruit from their own farm, homemade bread, gallo pinto, organic coffee and a fresh juice) was fantastic! Also the staff and the owner are very nice an...
