Have eaten there a few times. I hoped the service and food would get better as I know restaurants can have an off day (and because I love Indian food) but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unfortunately. From dry chicken, slow service to the manager not being the nicest, it wasn't a good experience. Found another Indian restaurant in Jena.

Mango lassi - 4.5/5 Samosa - 3.5/5 (you will get 1 big samosa, do not expect multiple) Malai kofta - I would not recommend Paneer kurma - I would not recommend either, its kasuri methi gravy with bland paneer.

Das ist wirklich alles andere als indisches Essen. Es war eine absolut geschmacklose Tomatensoße, in der zähes knorpeliges Hühnerfleisch war. Von der Gewürzvielfalt war nichts zu spüren. Da kenne ich definitiv bessere in Jena. PS: Ja, ich weiß, wie indisches Essen zu schmecken hat, ich war schließlich in Indien.

Besuch am 8.12.22 mit 7 Personen. Ambiente des Restaurants sehr ansprechend. Service grottenschlecht. Trotz mäßiger Belegung ungebührlich lange Wartezeiten. 1 Essen wurde ganz vergessen! Speisen waren schmackhaft, aber mäßig lauwarm! Radler und Wein von undefinierbarem Geschmack! Einhelliges Fazit: Es wird keinen weiteren Besuch dort geben.

Food: I ordered the lamb vindaloo. According to the menu, this item is categorized as a 3-star spicy dish Since I am a longtime fan of hot Szechuan cuisine and having being previously disappointed ordering spicy food in provincial German towns, I told the waiter to add an extra "spice star" to my dish. He asked if I was sure. I reassured him that this would be OK. When my meal arrived in a copper bowl, I saw several cubes of lamb which had been drowned in a thick tomato paste. It did not look very appetizing, so I dipped a spoon into the paste to try it. It was sour and absurdly hot. After eating a few spoons for reasons of politeness, I motioned to the waiter to clear my table. He saw that I hadn't finished and asked in a strange way if it was "too spicy". He seemed to take pleasure that I was not able to finish my meal. I found his amusement peculiar and wondered if he told the cook to nuke my dish for laughs.His evident pleasure rubbed me the wrong way. Service: I requested the bill and when it came, I was informed by the waitress that payment was cash only. Fortunately I had enough cash on hand. I asked her why it was not possible to pay with debit or credit card. She seemed a bit nervous and said that they only took cash payments. Come to your own conclusions why. Bottom line: your taste buds deserve better

I ordered through Uber Eats, and received a huge portion of butter chicken with rice, and I ordered a garlic naan on the side. Everything was delicious. My special instructions were followed. I hate cilantro and have a hard time getting that request followed in the English language. I can’t understand the one star reviews from anyone, because compared to most US Indian cuisine, that I am used to, this was better. My chicken was not dry, it was moist and flavorful. It was enough for two people easily, but I will eat my leftovers tomorrow. The food was also completely sealed, which I appreciated.

Personal service was provided and specially by the staff named Bishal. And even food was customised according to our taste preferences. Will 100% recommend it.

Disappointed with my recent visit to Taj of India. The mango lassi lacked the promised flavor and was overly sour. The mixed pakoras were cold, predominantly filled with potatoes, and didn't live up to the variety promised. The veg kofta was mainly potatoes, missing the expected assortment of veggies. For the price, the overall quality of the food was subpar. Hoping for improvements in the future.

Beautifully decorated and perfect ambience!! I ordered chicken biriyani and Bishal was kind enough to adjust it as per my request. Located right in the city center and offers good food at decent price with gigantic proportions.Would recommend visiting at least once!

And I got a tea too for free from Bishal ji😍 who doesnt like Masala tea?!

Das Restaurant Taj Of India hat sehr leckeres Essen. Ich bin Vegetarier und hier finde ich alles was mein Herz begehrt. Auch für Fleisch Esser ist einiges im Angebot. Preis Leistung ist top. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und ich empfehle es jeden gerne weiter.

Wer keine besonderen Ansprüche hat, wird hier definitiv nicht enttäuscht. Wir waren am 04.03.2023 zu viert dort und mussten trotz normaler Auslastung mehr als eine Stunde auf unsere Speisen warten. Erst auf Nachfrage hatte man sich wieder an uns erinnert. Die Konsistenz des Essens war eher wässrig. Der Geschmack hätte intensiver sein können. Die verlassenen Nachbartische standen die ganze Zeit voll mit Geschirr und Essensresten und wurden nicht abgeräumt. Schade

Die Karte des Restaurant ist prall gefüllt mit leckeren Essen und Köstlichkeiten, da wird jeder fündig. Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend und passend. Service ist sehr gut und zuvorkommend. Lage ist perfekt und zentral.

Das Essen ist bestimmt lecker. Aber dennoch saß ich dort eine ganze Stunde, damit mir dann gesagt werden konnte, dass ich kein Naan bekomme. Erst war es nicht schlimm, aber es stellte sich heraus, dass der Ofen nicht funktioniert. Natürlich habe ich dann das Restaurant verlassen. Tipp für das Leben: Geht bei einem indischen Imbiss essen! Kein indisches Restaurant taugt etwas!
