Actually a great place, but racial profiling is not acceptable and a no go. My black colleague got asked twice by the staff who he was and what company he worked for at breakfast. Whereas all white people including me got not asked when they were sitting already. Train your staff accordingly and show consequence when this happens.

I booked a four-night stay at this hotel for my father. The location was good but we expected better from this hotel after paying over 1200€ including breakfasts and dinners. The rooms were catastrophic for this price, no air conditioning in 30 degree-days, rooms were not cleaned not serviced during my father’s stay. He did not have two out of four dinners because it was too hot to stay in his room in the evening and wait for his dinner - but the staff did hesitate to charge 10€ for water and insisted on him paying.

Went for a work team building event. Room was spacious, comfortable, clean and modern. The spa is very nice, great buffet style food for each meal. I would recommend for a relaxing time or work event.

The rooms are looking really good and are clean but in summer time they lack an air conditioner and also the room service comes just if you ask so to clean up your room.

We called in the evening (21 of july 2023) to get a reservation for 4 people in total, 2 rooms. We told them we came from the Netherlands. When we arrived, the lady at the reception was in a really bad mood. She told us 30 minutes after we called, the rooms were released. (she didn't tell this on the phone, she didn't ask us when we would arrive and she wanted to have a discusssion about it) She finally gave our passports to a male reception person, who put everyting into the computer and helped us really friendly. The one star is for the lady who in our opinion isn't the right person for welcoming new guests. Location is nice, but we will not come back.

Charming hotel that is a very pleasant getaway to a secluded, peaceful spa. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent buffet dinner.

A little disappointed...we expected an 'upscale' hotel as described, but the room was rather basic. 2 out of 3 saunas were closed due to corona, as was the steam room. If we had known beforehand we wouldn't have made the 4 hr drive there, as there are much nicer spas closer to home. The swimming pool was alright, nothing special. One of the warm water pools has some white stuff floating around in it which was rather disgusting...we got out of it and looked for a member of staff to complain to but there was no one there. The one sauna that was open only allowed 4 people at a time inside due to corona, so the waiting times were quite long sometimes. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which was shocking. Also no complimentary bottle of water, which being a spa hotel I think is poor. I also expected there to be some body lotion in the room given that it is a spa hotel, and also considering the price that we paid for our stay, but again a disappointment. Breakfast was average, no pastries in the morning. Dinner was also very average, not the exciting 'live cooking show' they make it out to be. All in all for the price and the time it took us to get there I would not recommend. There are nicer spas in Germany (at a fraction of that price).

Beautiful location but horrible service orientation. We had planned to celebrate a family function there. After weeks of conversations, planning and visits the hotel suddenly told us it is no longer possible unless we book rooms. Very unprofessional behavior. I would not recommend this place despite the beautiful location.

This is the most expensive hotel I’ve ever stayed in and frankly I was a bit disappointed. The main part of the building is nice, but the area with the standard rooms felt very dated. Overall there were very few nice little free extras for guests and I would say only the staff in the restaurant really made you feel like you were really welcome. The spa area is quite nice but a bit cramped and in the pool area none of the jacuzzis were heated so they were unusable. I have paid half as much to stay in other hotels that were better in my opinion. It’s a shame because it could be a really amazing place.

All in all a great and very relaxing experience. The hotel is structured in a way that you never notice how many people are there and in always feels very private.

Great hotel, old medieval castle. The atmosphere is amazing, the food in the restaurant had so many varieties for all needs. The wellness areas are beautiful and clean. The room was super clean and beautiful. I would definitely go again if I have the chance!

We had a really relaxing weekend with lots of fantastic food. It is a really good hotel to "come down" and also to enjoy the surrounding area. The staff was very attentive and there is a real cosy feeling to the place. Wellness area and fitness room were great, too. The only really minor, and purely cosmetic, point was the slightly dated bathroom, but one can see that the hotel is being updated all the time so this will sort itself out soon, I'm sure ;)

A wonderful place indeed. Unfortunately we only had one night but enjoyed it thoroughly. There are currently two spots to charge an electric vehicle. The hotel let us use there charge card since we did not have a European card available to pay. The rate was a bit high. We ended up paying as much for the electricity than we would have for gasoline but overall it was still a very pleasant stay

This place is Magic. 2 swimming pool, surrounded by forest, and the building looks like a hobbit house

The staff especially was very kind and attentive, making it a very welcoming and comfortable experience. This Hotel has or had a great reputation but did not live up to my expectations. The room they provided us was extremely small for a couple and the overall impressions of the Hotel facilities was not as expected. Room for improvement I believe.

A very nice land gut hotel. The rooms were very clean. Great concept with focus on sustainability. Very good vegeterian and vegan meals. We would go there again, anytime.

We (couple with a baby boy) had a great stay at Land Gut Höhne. We had a great time on the property with lovely walks and a nice bath in the pool. The food was fantastic too and the staff very cordial and friendly.

dear sir or madam the hotel is very good, fine details and quality overall. our room was exceptional good, with a bathtub in the middle. Breakfast fine dinner and the buffet was not good, there the hotel could do something to allow menu to chose from. The pizza was not cooked, potatoes not tasting well and meat was only one choice. Here the hotel could do something and we would come back again for sure. Tennis, pool and saunas, we used all and very pleased. Overall great time with the kids and for us parents at Gut Høhne. Danke.

Great hotel with great thermal spa and pools. Close to DUS airport, A44, A3, hiking trails or even Duesseldorf Altstadt. Needs a car though. Free parking. Great breakfast. Dinner selection limited as only buffet when we went there in early October 2021.

Fantastic conference venue. Five star service in a rural location with outside relaxation areas.

My partner offered me a night stay in this hotel for my birthday and we had high hopes considering the price of the standard rooms (220 euros!). It was a real disappointment, with a room that was outdated (very old bathroom!) and not even heated when we arrived (the old fashion heating system made it difficult to warm up even after a few hours). The spa could also do with an update (the jacuzzis did not function) and the service was overall a let down. For this price you would expect a few nice touches but I can’t say there were any…even trying to have a drink at the bar before dinner turned out to be complicated (we had to ask the reception who said they didn’t know if the bar was open). The dinner buffet was very nice but not included in the price (and quite expensive - 50 euros / person) so I would say the overall experience was not good value for money. If you want to treat yourself with a nice hotel stay, please look somewhere else! Probably a good hotel for business conferences but not for a special occasion. I would recommend to come for the dinner buffet only rather than for a night stay.
