I love the old town of Kettwig. Lovingly maintained half-timbered houses, backyards, gardens and alleys everywhere. There are new, great photo opportunities on every corner. Pay attention to the details on houses, shutters, doors and alleys. You sometimes feel like you have been transported back to the Middle Ages. Also good for a nice walk.

For me so far the most beautiful place in the Ruhr area with a historic town center. There are plenty of photo opportunities, the half-timbered houses, the rustic cobblestones and many small shops there is a lot to look at. You can also go down to the Ruhr, where there is also a pier for excursions, or if you come to Kettwig not by car, but by a tour boat from another location nearby
